  • Stevie is the man

  • I'm fortunate enough to be OLD ENOUGH to be an admirer of Stevie Wonder since the late 60's........and he's STILL leaving me speechless! This performance is a shortened "live" version of 1 of my personal favorite Stevie compositions, "Don't You Worry Bout' A Thing"........and as in all things "Stevie", I absolutely adore it. Stevie Wonder is....and always has been 1 of God's greatest gifts to this world. I sincerely hope that most of you feel as I do. Peace.

  • Probably the BEST song Stevie ever wrote. Makes me laugh and cry and makes my soul swell. When I need a song to make me think life is worth living, this is the what I play.

  • Ah, one of my least favourite songs.

  • who is the drummer please????

  • @rikardosokortes Ollie Brown

  • is that dionne warwick singing background?

  • @nodlew1943 no

  • so friggin fresh!! this is real swag

  • the only person that could "DISLIKE" this video is Stevie HIMSELF!!! and that's because he missed the "LIKE" Button. But he has an excuse. If this is "Him" i leave it at that. If its not, WTF is your dumbass problem "1 Dislike"?

  • His voice, his songs, make me happy for some reason. I'm always smiling when I hear his music.

  • Stevie is from the planet Joy.. and I'm there with him. Me and Ian.... smiles!

  • thank you!!

  • When Stevie unleashes the first, "Don't you worry about a thing," chorus, it hits me like a wall of bliss...so amazing! I love this man.

  • I see 1 dislike for this song...who in the hell dislike a Stevie Wonder song....get the hell off of this page...show more respect for this legend...you big dumb dumb!!!!!!

  • Hey, what song was it at the very very beginning of the video? Sounded like we cut in to the very last bit of a funky lick. Or maybe the guitarist was just warming up.

  • @LegendofTheRiverKing No this is a performance on german television back in the day. Stevie played a few songs...

  • GENIUS and KILLER MUSICIANS.......

  • amazing! thanks SO much for the upload!!!!!!

  • I get epic chicken skin from this moment!

    Thank goodness for glutube.

  • Thats not how i imagine this song rocking out.

  • I saw one Black Sugar rendition here on youtube. Superb musicianship, but a slightly different approach-Stevie maintains a stronger R&B flavor here, as would be expected in '73.

  • Is that Deniece Williams singing behind Stevie? If so this is really a classic clip. i know that she once was part of Wonderlove, the girls that sang behind him. If anyone knows for sure please let me know.

  • @vandeltmas Yes she was one of his background singers

  • @vandeltmas Yeah... that's her.

  • WOW...didnt know Stevie was doing it like that....in the words of Eddie Murphy Stevie is a musical genius

  • Those maracas can consider themselves well and truly owned.

  • 1 person is worrying

  • when you get off your trip... i"ve always loved that part

  • PURE MUSICAL PERFECTION!!!

FEW in History can sound this Beautiful in a LIVE Performance!

  • search "stevie wonder drum solo".....not sure if there was anything this man couldnt do musically.......I'll say it...THE most talented human being ever to walk the face of the earth

  • @DaddySez This guy on the drums is absolutely ridiculous!

  • @johnniewalker23 ....absolutely

  • @DaddySez u make it sound like he's dead :P

  • @ByGeorgeous .....lol, was not my intent. Like a lot of us, he's a little older and maybe not quite at the peak of his game....but when he was....

  • @DaddySez Yeah man I'd have to agree. I generally don't like to level like that because there's been so many great artists over the years, but with Stevie he's just so accomplished and talented it's hard not to give him that title ... well in music anyways.

  • Genius.Nuff said.

  • Damn this gives me shivers. Innervisions his best album! Then key of life!

  • love this song! gawd..i love the 70's

  • I get chills every time I watch this, I'm 24 and I love old school. There's so much emotion on it even when it's just a normal song.

  • this is just gorgeous

  • TECHNICALLY*

A COMPOSER- is sum 1 that solely creates just music ,not lyrics.

A lyricist-Is someone who solely writes lyrics.

A SONGWRITER-Writes the musics and words.

Singer songwriter-i think u got it.

StevieWOnder -All four plus a great arranger,Also a great multimusician (i have to state this cuz,not all musicians are composers)A GENIUS.Mike-An AWESOME Singer Songwriter,Untouchable dancer, and POP ICON.Neither one will be forgotten.BOTH ARE GREAT!!!!!!SINGERS.Both Produce.and set the bar.

  • very good but the version of Black Sugar is amazing !!!!!

  • Michael Simbello at his best!

  • Stevie is Still a Wonder, Happy 61 Wishing you Many More days of Greatness

  • This is one of my favored Stevie songs.

  • Wow!

Look at Denise (Let's Hear It For The Boy) Williams over on the left sporting the short red afro! Cool :)

  • Man the backup girls were on point!!! I wish i were harmonizing with them!! :D

  • Man watching this brings back those lil kid mems of polyester flares my parents made us wear, you didn't give a shit because you were just a kid,the whole band looks cool, wow.love the studio version more personally

  • like this version of black sugar from peru :)

  • LOVE FOR STEVE WONDER FROM VENEZUELA

  • Amazing

  • Just me or 0:19 looks kinda like Andy Amberg?

  • Stevie Wonder played drums on at least one of his tracks.

not bad. not bad at all.

  • I like the version of Black Sugar is also very America :D

  • Stevie Wonder is 4-ever awesome!

  • ありえないぐらいかっこいい

    この時代のスティーヴィー最高

  • WHY THE HELL IS MJ AND STEVIE BEING COMPARED THEY WERE GREAT CAUSE THEY BOTH HAD THERE OWN STYLE IF YOU WANT MJ GO SEARCH MJ FOOLS

  • Stevie look soo dam cool in this clip.

  • Brilliant song by the Mr. Steveland Morris aka Stevie Wonder! The bassline is so amazing in this performance! I wish I was born in that era to see him when he was in his prime!

  • Lord, how I love this song, both its groove and its MESSAGE. Rock on, Stevie:) --

  • Like someone took his eyesight to give him everything else in return!

    Cheers

    Pascal form Paris

  • this shit is legendary, str8 talent and soul

  • one of my altime favourite from one of my all time favourite heroes

  • you just can´t dislike this!

  • What I love about Stevie is that when you go to one of his concerts, it's almost like you're in your living room listening to the LP. He tries to bring the same sound to you in the hall like he does on his records. His voice is so distinctive.

  • ça dechire

  • THIS IS WHEN MUSIC WAS GREAT , WHAT THE HELL WENT WRONG . AAAAA+++++

  • stevie wonder was/is probably one of if not the best african american male artists ever. he's got a lot of heart and soul

  • My favorite song ever! This song is for me. Because all my life I've been worrying. I love all his songs excet for Part-Time Lover.

  • To me, one of the most beautiful things about this video - and so much other music and video from this period of time is that black and white people and others made beautiful music together. It happens on again and off again today, but it seems like a cultural wedge got driven back between people. Was it the Reagan era 80's? I don't know, but I would like to see people getting back together in music and in all things.

  • I am sorry to say this but Michael Jackson is overrated. He just doesn't compare to Stevie. Stevie in a class by himself. Stevie is a fucking genius.

  • my favorite!!!!

  • Slash rocking out on the maracas

  • @ChadPriceMusic Is that Slash?

  • @n2mymuzic I think it is Slash! I heard he had access to a time machine but I dismissed it as rumor until I saw this video.

  • Comment removed

  • i know all d lyrics!

  • Why are people comparing Stevie Wonder with MJ here? Both are unique and special, there's no possible comparability between them.

  • うれしいぃぃぃ!!! この曲でライブバージョンが聞けてうれしいです♪

  • Deniece Williams

  • I remember seeing this on telly about 10 years ago and it's stuck with me ever since...this is musical perfection.

  • I don't know why, but "Outside my window" is echoing to "Don't you worry 'bout a thing" in my mind (I can't say soul 'cuz I'm a bloody atheist who thinks that's if there is a god he can only be Stevie !)

  • I still can't believe how calm the crowd is in all of these vids. I would have been bouncing off the walls

  • everybody is influenced by one another..it's rarely you get something original under the sun..it's all been done before...the next great entertainer will be influenced by stevie, Micheal, Smokey, Ray, Elvis, sanatra, usher, and more

  • Thanks for these! Treasures.

  • fantastic! What's the Beat Club?

  • Chevere!

  • UNbelievable how GREAT this song/performance/band is. Todays music is not worthy to shine his shoes.

  • @enochpowell3 completely agree with the first part, couldn't disagree more about the second part. Sounds to me like you need to open your mind a little.......

  • well just remember that stevie came first and is one of john biggest inspirations ;)

  • My favorite Stevie Wonder song. I've loved him ever since I was a little girl.

    Todo está bien chévere ;-)

  • the most passionate singing I ever heard. I am mesmerized

  • Mi piace già tantissimo questa canzone.Apprezzo qualsiasi versione

  • Bellissima versione.

  • Beautiful performance and great band

  • Es Chevere! Viva Stevie Wonder!

  • Michael Jackson was a great performer. Stevie was a great musician, composer and performer. You can't really compare the two.

  • correction here.MJ was a great vocalist dancer songwriter composer producer performer and trend setter.Stevie is a great vocalist songwriter composer musician producer performer and also trend setter. Both different both genius. Both contributed to music enormously.Mj was hands on in the studio you cant say hes just a performer,he wasnt an acomplished musician but definately could play write and produce music brilliantly. MJ musicianship is very underated, anyway great is an understatement for them

  • @fede4real...You are 100% correct. like I said, Stevie Wonder & Michael Jackson are the two greatest artists of all time. They were both incredible vocalists, made extrodinarily classic music, & have revolutionized the music industry and influenced other artists like no one else has. Like you said, they are different, but equally Genius.

  • @fede4real

    MJ is underrated? I disagree.

  • @fede4real good said dude :)

  • @hellsec :-)

  • @hellsec Stevie is still alive ...

  • @hellsec Stevie is kinda like the Beatles and MJ was kinda like Elvis to their respective generations. Stevie and the Beatles innovated whereas MJ and Elvis were more about style and entertainment. Sorry if anyone is unhappy with this analogy but it just came to me and I know it's not perfect, but I'm more impressed with the contributions of Stevie and the Beatles.

  • @hellsec he ain´t dead dude

  • @hellsec Excuse me, but Michael Jackson was as well a musician, he wrote and composed most of his songs, and he took part in writing all of them. In addition, he played guitar and piano very well, including bass guitar. Please correct yourself.

  • @hellsec Well, Stevie still IS a great performer...

  • @hellsec BLIND performer! ther's a huge difference :) <3 u stevie....

  • @hellsec Jackson was a composer as well.

  • I feel like his blindness made him a better singer. michael so fu[ocused on dancing that his singing was secondary live. But even in the studio I'd have to say Stevie was much more influential in music than Michael J.

  • its clear Mj prefered the visual impact during his shows rather than the strict live sound.stevie has influenced most urban R&B singers but MJ music has been an standard in music production too

  • Aw man I love Stevie so much...one a those dudes with so much feelin it's like ya know him just from his tunes

  • Comment removed

  • I think Stevie wonder and Michael Jackson are on the same level. As far as creativity and rhythm in every song they make. Rip mike Jack

  • i love michael as much as anyone else but if you listen.... michael stole a bunch of stevies style the way he sings on his early stuff ... but i personally think stevie is a much bigger legend than michael is... musically that is... stevie is beyond genius, i bet if stevie could see hed be dancing up a stormmm

  • I wouldn't say Mike stole anything. They knew each other for years and I'm sure they both borrowed from each other. I do put Stevie above Mike though.

And hey, Stevie does get down, he doesn't have to see to dance :)

  • yeah yeah i didnt totaly mean steal... but michael was defiantly influenced by stevie tremendously in the motown days... the cover of " i dont know why" by the jackson 5 is an ace cover. hahha and yeah i seen stevie get up during concert sometimes, alittle sketchy, i just dont want him falling off stage or nutting. and personally i think he gained awhole lot of vision through being blind, so i like blind stevie.

  • lol yeah I know what you mean, he lets the emotion get a hold of 'im and I start worrying he's gonna fall.

and I'm with you, him being blind definitely enhanced his sense of sound.

  • @Illmatic699 I couldn't agree with you more.....well actually I can. If you ask me, Stevie Wonder & Michael Jackson are the two greatest artists of all time. I say that because in their prime, they were both incredible vocalists, made extrodinarily classic music, & have revolutionized the music industry and influenced other artists like no one else has.

  • @czar178 definately they completely changed the game there are not enough words to describe their work during those years.THey were talented beyond words, they had inspiration ,the right team behind, the right moment in time...Mj trilogy with Q and Stevie 70s work is outta this world. Difficult if not imposible to anybody get to that level of excelence in music.

  • NICEEEEEE!!! Didnt I just see Slash??

  • This man is soooooooooo fine!

  • thanks johnniewalker23 for this.

  • Oh, my, thanks for posting even more Stevie, Johnnie Walker.

  • I thought it started of as salsa and I wondered how his voice will fit in,

    perfectly!

    lovely song indeed.

  • And I LOVE the backup singers....

  • Left to right...Deniece Williams, Lani Groves, and *I think* Shirley Brewer.

  • They are excellent!!
