I have watched each of these about 20 times. I bought the damn video, and I can't see it enough. Talented musicians showing their stuff -- but not to show off. It's got the tone of an "idea exchange" between a group of people who all respect one another. I love it.
hello friend, i grew up 20 miles south of Austin, graduated high school in 1975 and the music was incredible in the 70s and 80s, the whole place was magic then, now, way too overbuilt and big and dirty...but, when you are talking these guys, esp. my favorite from 20 yrs back, Steve Earle, you are talking the best music in the world.....
I kind of put that one together after posting that question. I've only seen him in the way he looks now, took me a while. What about the guy singing the first song on this vid? Anyone know who that is?
Bill is still out there. He found Jesus after a long stint of drug abuse.Rumor has it that he was sucked through the chute at Longhorn Dam in Austin, and went out the other side to the Colorado River. ..thought it'd be a good idea to "tube" Town lake during a flood stage.
Steve's son, Jubal Lee Young is just as FANTASIC!! Jubal lives in Muskogee OK.

I've been a fan of Guy Clark since I first heard of him, Billy Joe, Jimmy Dale, and that whole Austin scene back in 75

Anyone know who's singing I'm So Lonesome I Could Cry? That's one of the most amazing things that I have ever seen.
