That was fuckin brilliant...joe is one of the few technically mindblowing guitarrists that i love...im more into blues n rock n roll, but joe is fucking amazing, he rocks
I reconize it's the perfect match with the Joe satriani version... I got it on my pc. They play the song there, but what you here is the original file of Joe.. Respect to the players! No offense =) It's a nice song ^^
i really love this song, it is one of my favourites.
I can listen this again and again but still every time I listen to it I hear something new. It is like another piece of his soul that is hidden in the song.
"Reel Satriani", a documentary made in '95. On that video you can see him recording several songs (like Cool #9 and Luminous Flesh Giants and , of course, this one.)
If you'd google it, you'll find it on Google Videos
I guess I said that cuz this reminded me of all the music that few have heard outside of boots. And also brings to mind Pilgrim, which is almost unknown, also from EC. Was not meaning to compare, brilliance is brilliance.
He,he ... for those of you offended by a comment made in my name a month or so ago, allow me to explain. It was not my hand that typed those words. Not sure who the culprit was, but that's what you get for leaving it open to some buddy.
I, like any human who has ever witnessed Satriani have been in awe for decades.
I used to use UG but then I realized using tabs for learning is kinda unhealthy to playing and it's better to learn things by ear. Or musical notation.
Don't really agree. I still use sites like UG or 911tabs, since some songs are really hard to find out by ear. And most of the time, the tabs are not fully acurate, so that is where you do have to use your ears.
Musical notation is usually shitly done, tabs offer a better resolution for a guitarist. Then again, the notation system is more widespread. Learning by ear is the most musical approach to things :)
What sets Joe apart from other super guitarists is he can blend beautiful melodies within a song. Alot of people who may criticize him, don't realize that he is so original and puts soul and feeling into his technique. One of the very best guitarists on the planet.
watching this video with This satch's song "you'r my world" made me remember the beautiful days it's so simple but full of feelings !!! i'm huge fan of satriani !!!
this vid conjures up something in my head... I wanna see(or hear) a goddam Campitelli drum solo!!! i mean wtf!! and also a m. bissonette one, just for the record.
try to figure it out by ear, this is a rather easy song, it really helps if you learn to play by ear!!! the hard thing about this here is the expression and the wah-use. try ;)
Hum, Joe Satriani is one of my favorite guitarists, but I don't like this one, way to simple and tastless T_T, and no I don't like and never liked drum brushes :S I enjoy listening to the PUM TA TA PUM TUM TA :P
Wtf is wrong with you? quit the viagra mate. I do care that Joe is making worse songs because he's one of the best. and this song is not 1/10 of Joe's quality.
although i dont agree with ur opinion, i respect it. im just curious...what makes you think of this as tastless? it's simple of course, but how come tastless???
This 16-beat with brushes really "says" nothing to me. The chorus guitar with bridge pickup sounds like transistor and it's not warm for the harmony wich is very paused.
The bass groove is basicly 1 note of the chord. I don't like when the bass stops playing in some parts, it removes the ground from the song.
What I do like, is the bass sounding, it's pretty fat and slappy at the same time and joe's sound and impro around 2:20, that sounds like Ibanez already. You post now why you like it :)

joe can do so little with his guitar and cover so much more space than Vai but he also has the abilty to whip it out when he needs some speed
