Finally, someone who doesn't blame everything on God and leaves religion just because they're too weak to accept that there is suffering in this world.
When "bad superhero" meets evil...the boiling point. Rorschach meets what might be the ultimate evil; unrepentant, murdering child rapist...in the entire movie, this is the most emotionally vulnerable we see Rorschach while he's wearing the mask...he's fighting back tears, and he gives into his rage to fight this evil...That man scarred him, and took away more than that girl. Rorschach seeing that girl's remains was like Batman of Earth-52 seeing Jason Todd dead...shattering.
In the comic he hand cuffs the guy, lights the house on fire then leaves the cleaver for him to try and escape. He never got out. This scene is just as good
The kidnapper here is probably the dumbest criminal ever. Why? He confesses to the crime in front of a violent masked vigilante who just killed his dogs then threw their carcasses on him and also is clearly barely stopping himself from straight up murdering the guy's sorry ass, and the guy expects said vigilante to just arrest him.
@CarlMinez Yeah because liking a movie makes you braindead. It's a fucking movie, get over it. Let people like what they want, no one forced you to watch a video of a movie for "braindead nerds" that you obviously dislike. Seriously what's the point?
and then i found some dogs and then i picked the dogs up and then i put the dogs down dogs get put down i said as i put the dogs down then i ran away because you have to be careful still i put them firmly down on the ground where dogs belong
@fsffsa5325324= One version of the script had him beating him up, shoving raw meat down his throat, pouring blood on him, and then sicking the dogs on him. The dogs tear him apart. Then Rorscach kills the dogs. I didn't make that up. I'm not that creative.
whoever said it was morally wrong to kill those 2 dogs is an idiot.....the dogs were clearly raised to be vicious and would only be a danger to society.....like anyone is gonna adopt a dog that was raised by a murderous rapist.....in any case this scene is awesome and is exactly what should happen to that guy who dismembered that little boy recently
I agree to everything he said about god, destiny, etc.... Rorcharch, iz a bad-azz character, if vigilantes like him really existed, there be less murders, rapes, especially crooked FUCCN COPS thats for sure

@connor011098 The Punisher does the same thing. Except he kills his victims in a worse and painful death. If only there is one badass Punisher movie that would be great.
@connor011098 That's what the police do in the Phillipines. Kidnapping cases are handled with extreme prejudice. Suspects are shot on sight if circumstantial evidence is blatant enough.
I think the reason why the novel was so brilliant and the movie was just average is simply that there are very few good comic books (the ones you see on some tip lists are always the same ones - moores, millers, gaimans - that's just about it), while there are plenty of awfully good movies. i mean, you simply can't make a better superhero movie than the dark knight.
Plus, alan moore is right when he says they used stylistic devices (sorry for my school english) in the novel that can only be us
Ahh...perfect social comment on how murdering creatures do what they do because they know the "Liberal Elite" look kindly on them and give them light sentences. But what if the justice system was overhauled and psychos got a "Let the Punishment Fit the Crime" system? Would they still be so eager to go around murdering innocent people knowing that they'd get exactly what they hand out if they're caught?
They can't help but commit these crimes, in a society where the derranged are outcasted, and seen as a social stigma. It's not their fault, they're, in a sense, wired that way; from their birth and upbringing, their perception of the world is drastically different from yours. They don't see the consiquences, they don't see other peoples emotions, or experiences, it's their uncontrolable, primal urge, and no punishment will deter that.
@sovietlemon so its societies fault? that makes no sense so your saying i'm responsible for a freak killing people, that everybody who lives their lives innocently never hurting anybody are the true antagonists, biggest joke i've ever heard
Yes, it's completely societies fault. And no, you yourself are not society, you are simply a feeble gear in the machine. They perceive everything differently, they probably don't realise what they're doing, let alone the moral condemnations it holds, if you outcast them, and aim to punish them, then all you do is create a society that breeds homicide. But, if you care for them, teach them of others, treat them as a person, then they will realise what they are doing.

Now if you enjoy this mediocre Hollywood blockbuster, go enjoy it in peace, nobody is forcing you to argue with me. You obviously can't grasp the moral issues I'm speaking of anyway.
@CarlMinez what makes watchmen so unique, is that it's characters aren't extremists on perfection and madness, as to say, superman, who has a steel moral no matter the situation, and joker, who loves chaos just for the sake of it. watchmen characters are normal people. yeah, he killed those dogs, maybe cuz he hated them for eating the girls body, maybe to frighten the guy. the point of this is, i bet you know somebody who would kill a dog if his moral told him that i was the right thing to do.
What makes watchman unique? Give me a break. If you want a deep movie, watch Citizen Kane, Metropolis or Stalker. This is just a braindead action movie for braindead nerds who are too stupid to know the difference between moral philosophy and mindless killing.
But that's not what bothers me about this scene. What bothers me is that the main character is a sociopath and being glorified in the film for being one. And the fact that he murders two pets for no reason.
@CarlMinez what makes watchmen so unique, is that it's characters aren't extremists on perfection and madness, as to say, superman, who has a steel moral no matter the situation, and joker, who loves chaos just for the sake of it. watchmen characters are normal people. yeah, he killed those dogs, maybe cuz he hated them for eating the girls body, maybe to frighten the guy. the point of this is, i bet you know somebody who would kill a dog if his moral told him that it was the right thing to do.
they weren't innocent, they were cannibalistic. Once an animal tastes human meat, it wants more. That's why cannibalistic tigers, lions etc are always hunted and killed.
Where the hell did you read that? Cannibalism is the act of humans eating a member of their own species. How on earth can a dog be cannibalistic? Dogs, to the best of my knowledge, aren't humans.
Furthermore, the scene was cruel. The dogs had done nothing to deserve that treatment. They are being depicted in the movie as expandable objects with no value, that the hero can basically kill just to frighten another human being.
there was pretty much no reason for this scene to be like this. zach snyder needs to grow up and get over his penchant for really stupid and over-the-top gratuitous violence.
"This world is not shaped by vague Metaphysical forces. It wasn't God that killed the little girl. Wasn't fate that butchered her or destiny that fed her to the dogs. It's us. Only us."
best punishment for a child rapist is to shrink the guy to size of cockroach and throw him to a mantis.give a helmet and neck guard so that the mantis cannot bite his head /neck and kill him quick. the mantis will eat him feet first.
I'm sorry, but the way they id this scene in the movie kind of ruins the entire point of the Rorschach character. In the comic everyone thinks he's a nut, but in reality he isn't. This scene makes him look like a psychopath when HE ISN'T. Not to mention what he does to the guy in the book is more badass and makes him have so much more depth as a character.
Roarshach was wrong about one thing. Creatures like that "thing" aren't dogs, they're shit to be flushed down the bog (toilet). So should be the end of all shit like that creature, nice and painfully. And yes, they are really out there.
Rorschah ain't no hero for instance he never kills corrupt billionaires or rogue mafia cops he sets double standards for different criminals (a bit like Punisher who also protects rogue cops) so they're not even anti-heros, they're closer to villains with a bit of anti-hero in them
@schwarzfalk Rorschach's demented ideology is what makes him a sour version of a hero.
The 1st problem is that he judges people either two ways: good or evil. The issue there is that he denies the grey area b/w them, which can exist (Ex. People can do bad things w/o being labeled "evil").
The 2nd problem is that he "forces" (mild fascism) his view of justice onto others while denying their (criminals') right to trial. I like Rorschach but his ideology is dangerous for the masses.
One of my favorite lines in history. Rorschach's "Dogs get put down" is up there with the Bible's "I am Legion", and the president's speech in Independence Day.
I think they edited the scene to rorscach killing the guy with a axe instead of burning him is because when "walter kovacs closed his eyes then. it was rorscach who opened them" is mentioned in the book when he kills the dogs, so, instead of the whole "transformation" concept, they decided to make it more personal do it with the man, and it made more sense then burning him.
I wonder how the comedian would have reacted to this situation. Or would killing a helpless girl and feeding her to the dogs still just be apart of the "big joke."
@EmperorofCartoons I’m just saying the Comedian has a very cynical view of human nature and he thinks he’s seen the worst of human behaviour, and he prides himself on this acknowledgement; the fact that very few would permit themselves such a understanding but he DOES allow it and he doesn’t care. But we’ve come to see that even Blake had limits. He breaks down after discovering the magnitude of Veidt’s plan. So I was just wondering if Blake would have simply scoffed at Rorschach’s discovery.
@mugatu5000 This IS the genesis of Rorschach and it pretty much overwhelmed him, so I’m just wondering if Blake would have still kept his head. Would this not appear in Blake's "top ten list of the worst human atrocities he's seen"?
This movie only did so poorly because people can't understand it. People are idiots, they don't see masterpieces. Of course Alan Moore is going to be pissed off though, no creator likes others to adapt their brilliance. I will agree the comic was better but this film deserves more recognition than a simpleton society can give.
@ReDhAvEn1993 IMO this movie did so poorly because of its god awful soundtrack which never failed to take whatever was happening on screen and pissing all over it
@depressio117 umm.....don't talk about this like you have even the slightest idea what you're talking about.......you're obviously belligerently inept.....if you're not being sarcastic.......fucking idiot
@killa420herb Rorschach dies to "sound of silence" by simon and garfunkle, a ludicrously long sex scene to "hallelujah" by Cohen, and MCR covers "desolation row" for the credits. I know it's just my opinion, but soundtrack dissonance can be used in a movie only so many times before it gets old and stops making sense. it worked with Nat King Cole's "Unforgettable," I'm your boogie man" and "times they are a changing", but by the end I just wished Snyder would stop
@ReDhAvEn1993 The movie did not do poorly. I have no idea where you even got that idea from. The movie was #1 for a long ass time and made $55,214,334 in the opening weekend. No movie had higher results than it did that year. It was a great movie and it also did great. The only bad thing about this movie is that we saw too much ballsack.
@blacktee31 Well plenty of people saw it but most didn't enjoy it, which i can't understand. There really was only like two scenes where you could see Dr. Manhattan's junk unless you were intentionally searching for it. (That is not an attack at you for pointing that out lol, I just mean in general.)
@ReDhAvEn1993 I can understand that, but I haven't met anybody that didn't like it. And I'm sure there were more than just two scenes and even just two is too much for me. There was a good bit of times where his balls caught me off guard.
@MansoorDorp Hmmm....I have no more time for this...you are obviously illiterate..plus you need to wash your mouth out.....ahh but I digress..if you care to waste your time and continue arguing me reply would be a rebuttal, and to your next axiomatic putrid reply I would pronounce a rebuttal as well. No run, run away pet run! Go barricade yourself in your fortress of ignorance.
@ReDhAvEn1993 Holier than thou? Funny considering you're defending this watered down over hyped glitz and spectacle over interlect version of the Watchmen, have you ever read a fucking comic in your entire measly life?
@MansoorDorp Yeah I read plenty of comic books....Actually I read the Watchmen comic well before the film. Please stop fighting on youtube and go get a life.
@ReDhAvEn1993 Indeed. For those who didn't read the graphic novel, the movie is confusing. I love this movie because I've read the graphic novel and they did an excellent job at adapting it.
The sick part is that mother fucker's like the murder do this stuff and just get a few decades in prison. I wish that there were more people like Rorscach, people who have the balls to give these sick fucker's what they deserve.
@mrtoontown Not really. A world where people can just walk into a persons house and break their necks while they're eating dinner with the family, just because they believe that their a murderer isn't my idea of Justice. What if they were innocent? (This is coming from a Rorscach fan.)
@codafett My first point still stands- sick bastards like the murderer do horrid things then get only a few decades in prison or get put to death. A few decades in prison- Not remotely bad as it used to be- compared to the old days, it's fucking easy-mode (had a uncle who was in prison for embezzeling). Put to death- In some cases I feel that it's too quick and painless an end.
You may not agree with me, but I can't blame ya. We live in a society where violence and murder are wholly wrong.
@superspartan11 And yet, the critics and audiences absolutely HATED this film. Even the author of the comic book, Alan Moore completely DISOWNED this film and continues to badmouth it to this day. Kick-Ass was 10,000 times better than Watchmen.
I can't watch this scene without laughing about that Saturday Morning cartoon intro of the Watchmen spoof someone did where they showed the exact opposite of the movie as a joke and showed Rorschach juggling pies and petting two german shepards being "a friend to the animals". Still great scene. Jackie Earl Haley's awesome. He's great in this role and even did an okay job as Freddy (Robert's the REAL Freddy of course but Haley at least was better than the idea of Thornton) given the awful script
Dear God, just wow, I mean I know it's just a movie/novel, but wow, how could someone do that to a little girl. Rorschach's right though, we do make the world as it is, and it's up to us to try to make it better, undo the wrongs, if it's not too late already.
@Aman184 The murderer said that he had no proof for that he killed the girl, so Rorschach pointed at one of his dogs, indicating that the forensics could simply disect the dogs and find the girl's remains in their stomacs, and DNA traces in their mouths.
I still love the graphic novel version, handcuffed him to the furnace and then set the house on fire, telling him to cut his own hand off and then hearing him scream.
Finally, someone who doesn't blame everything on God and leaves religion just because they're too weak to accept that there is suffering in this world.

And the fact that he murders two pets for no reason.

they weren't innocent, they were cannibalistic. Once an animal tastes human meat, it wants more. That's why cannibalistic tigers, lions etc are always hunted and killed.
KyodaiKen1979 2 months ago
@KyodaiKen1979
They are being depicted in the movie as expandable objects with no value, that the hero can basically kill just to frighten another human being.

there was pretty much no reason for this scene to be like this. zach snyder needs to grow up and get over his penchant for really stupid and over-the-top gratuitous violence.

best punishment for a child rapist is to shrink the guy to size of cockroach and throw him to a mantis.give a helmet and neck guard so that the mantis cannot bite his head /neck and kill him quick. the mantis will eat him feet first.

Rorschah ain't no hero for instance he never kills corrupt billionaires or rogue mafia cops he sets double standards for different criminals (a bit like Punisher who also protects rogue cops) so they're not even anti-heros, they're closer to villains with a bit of anti-hero in them
schwarzfalk 1 year ago
@schwarzfalk Rorschach's demented ideology is what makes him a sour version of a hero.
The 1st problem is that he judges people either two ways: good or evil. The issue there is that he denies the grey area b/w them, which can exist (Ex. People can do bad things w/o being labeled "evil").
The 2nd problem is that he "forces" (mild fascism) his view of justice onto others while denying their (criminals') right to trial. I like Rorschach but his ideology is dangerous for the masses.
Bmanritchie 1 year ago

EmperorofCartoons 1 year ago
@EmperorofCartoons I’m just saying the Comedian has a very cynical view of human nature and he thinks he’s seen the worst of human behaviour, and he prides himself on this acknowledgement; the fact that very few would permit themselves such a understanding but he DOES allow it and he doesn’t care. But we’ve come to see that even Blake had limits. He breaks down after discovering the magnitude of Veidt’s plan. So I was just wondering if Blake would have simply scoffed at Rorschach’s discovery.
mugatu5000 1 year ago
@mugatu5000 This IS the genesis of Rorschach and it pretty much overwhelmed him, so I’m just wondering if Blake would have still kept his head. Would this not appear in Blake's "top ten list of the worst human atrocities he's seen"?
mugatu5000 1 year ago
This movie only did so poorly because people can't understand it. People are idiots, they don't see masterpieces. Of course Alan Moore is going to be pissed off though, no creator likes others to adapt their brilliance. I will agree the comic was better but this film deserves more recognition than a simpleton society can give.

killa420herb 1 year ago
@killa420herb Rorschach dies to "sound of silence" by simon and garfunkle, a ludicrously long sex scene to "hallelujah" by Cohen, and MCR covers "desolation row" for the credits. I know it's just my opinion, but soundtrack dissonance can be used in a movie only so many times before it gets old and stops making sense. it worked with Nat King Cole's "Unforgettable," I'm your boogie man" and "times they are a changing", but by the end I just wished Snyder would stop
depressio117 1 year ago
@ReDhAvEn1993 The movie did not do poorly. I have no idea where you even got that idea from. The movie was #1 for a long ass time and made $55,214,334 in the opening weekend. No movie had higher results than it did that year. It was a great movie and it also did great. The only bad thing about this movie is that we saw too much ballsack.

@blacktee31 Well plenty of people saw it but most didn't enjoy it, which i can't understand. mrtoontown 1 year ago
@mrtoontown Not really. A world where people can just walk into a persons house and break their necks while they're eating dinner with the family, just because they believe that their a murderer isn't my idea of Justice. What if they were innocent? (This is coming from a Rorscach fan.)
codafett 1 year ago
@codafett My first point still stands- sick bastards like the murderer do horrid things then get only a few decades in prison or get put to death. A few decades in prison- Not remotely bad as it used to be- compared to the old days, it's fucking easy-mode (had a uncle who was in prison for embezzeling). Put to death- In some cases I feel that it's too quick and painless an end.
You may not agree with me, but I can't blame ya. We live in a society where violence and murder are wholly wrong.

@Aman184 The murderer said that he had no proof for that he killed the girl, so Rorschach pointed at one of his dogs, indicating that the forensics could simply disect the dogs and find the girl's remains in their stomacs, and DNA traces in their mouths.
