I am in heaven! She was not only one of the finest, she picked the best song's for her style and rendition. When I sang on the Sunset Strip at the Melody Room I sang her rendition, Mr. Bill Cosby and Cris Columbo were in the Club and I was so proud. Thank you Dakota and the person who let me see her live!!
Before I ever heard of Billie, I heard of Dakota. She was the chosen one in my home growing up in that lovely decade, the 50s. The Late Show., You Showed Me The Way,
Misty and on and on. The montage brought tears to my eyes not just for Dakota but for that particular era, to the summer Sundays growing up in the projects in The Bronx, windows open listening to that sweet smokey voice wishing it was 1958 just for a minute. Thank you Dakota, and Thank you for uploading my past.
Didn't know what to expect when I hit this link. I knew it was Dakota, but not the great tunes you picked out ! This is fantastic ! Thanks for the memories of a bygone era.
I had the chance to see Her at a very small jazz club in Barcelona,Spain, quite a few years ago. As usual I sat at the front row, so very close to Her.
I remember helping Her with the micro cable to prevent Her from falling. Very nice remembrance.
