  • "IT'S VERY IMPORTANT THAT YOUR WHOLE INSTRUMENT IS VERY WIDE AND VERY ROUND"

  • I used to be a singer to but then I took an arrow to my throat.... no wait... knee... adventurer

  • Well, sure didn't learn anything in this video... But at least I didn't hear as many God awful things as on SingingSuccess. They have absolutely no clue about healthy singing.

  • My voice do vibrates when I try to sing...Any suggestions to overcome it?

    I seriously need that help!

    Thanks

  • i invite you to request a song so me and my bff can sing it!;) thanks

  • keep pressing 3

  • this instructor woman is the bomb!

  • AAAAAaaaaaaaaa@@@@@@@@@@

  • keep pressing 8

  • The more how-to singing videos i watch the worse i get...

  • I've found these tips for singers on the internet and just wanted to share with you guys, since it works for me, I'm attending a vocal class at the opera house, although I sing rock, my teacher teaches me the same technique as it is here. bestsingingtechnique.webs.com check it out.

  • The yawn works for her because she IS a soprano? I don't get it. Haha the yawn fucked me up just now//:

  • "Now Jana is a fat as-i mean soprano ."

  • Lol I tried the 'aaaah' bit and my cat stopped licking himself to stare at me ...

  • I hate to say it but don't think that right, if you do that yawn......if you breath and stuff like that you'll go flat pretty easy. Im sorry but people do not listen such a bad tip

  • @shaun127969 Many vocal teachers teach the yawn technique.

  • Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck

  • i got something that can help you open your throat babycakes

  • LMFAO

  • why do fat ppl sing so beautifully....

  • @Iamasin1412 Her size doesn't have anything to do with singing. she is very good. thats all that matters

  • @Iamasin1412 they have bigger diaphram

  • if being fat can make my voice better I will get fat

  • Come to think of it, why aren't you doing the singing? Shouldn't you be demonstrating how your technique has refined your voice? Why don't you post a live performance and show us why we should be taking your advice.

  • Miss. Hakala--how about listing your credentials other than the very vague "25 years of professional acting and singing". I could not find anything on the web about your performance experience. These type of smoke and mirrors teachers are why there are so many bad singers out there. They are being taught by someone who throws a shawl over the piano, and says "Open the throat and breath from the diaphragm darling....$50 please. See you next week!"

  • I like to watch these "how to sing" posts for laughs. Here is some advice...don't go to youtube for a voice lesson. Go to a seasoned, professional singer with real performance and education credentials. Remember, you cannot buy a new voice after you ruin yours.

  • If you press 4 and 5 repeatedly it sounds like shes saying nom.

  • "AWWWWaaawwawww"

  • it's harddd how can i "yawn" without it being too breathyyy T^T

  • 0:40 - 0:45

  • free singing contest with prizes on our page!

  • Very good!

  • 0:18 i laughed so hard... it looks so dumb XDDD

  • OMG IT'S A MONSTER!

  • really.

  • Sorry, that is not true open throat. It's partial open throat singing and not recommended to use when trying for a power sound or going up to the higher ranges.

  • this is way to sexual

  • i cant stop yawning now ;p

  • HAHAHAHA PENIS

  • I ywaned

  • my chorus instructor makes me do this! :D

  • I was just trying to say this instruction is complete garbage...I didn't actually throw up. I might have well have done though...would of helped me more than this crap. If you want to know about open throat...watch Ken Templin (he can even help a Julliard Tenor like me adjust to popular singing)

  • @depelated

aim for the back of her throat

  • i think she needs some dick

  • @kharlos84 LOL thats disgusting.

  • 0okkkkkkkk...

    she looks happy doesnt she?

  • how does yawning free up the throat? Another question. In the video, it was mentioned that "____ is a saprano, so we will free the top of the throad". Does this imply that you are suppose to free up different area of the throat depending on your singing type? If so, does this also imply that a different excercise is needed to free up a different part of your throat?

  • wenevr i sing long ass notes my voice cracks ny ideas any1

  • @2Warlock4You

Out of breath? Breath partially controls how long you can sustain a note for.

  • @2Warlock4You It might be because your head voice (high notes' voice) and chest voice (talking pitch notes) aren't connected.

  • Heey this works a lot! Your throat it's very important when you're singing 'cuz if you have it closed the sound it's horrible... Even if this looks ridiculous it's a very important exercise :)

  • is this For Real??

  • i cant do that.. theres no voice coming.. lol

  • my name is lady gaga and im here to learn how to sing

  • V i almost vomited. im in my nice pajamas. thanks.

  • umm, in my neighborhood, u would be jumped for this

  • these people can't stand and record themselves if they are null, so i believe they are real pro singer

  • Nice hot chicks. :p

  • you made me yawn o.O

  • I tried this and my mom came in my room and beat me.

  • @Edgetillmorning Why did she beat u? lol

  • what rubbish :)

  • lol

  • lol the soprano surely is wide and round

  • @jammmon The alto's are medium and quiet

  • oooooooooooooooooah

  • Comment removed

  • This is exactly the stiuff you are taught in vocal classes - it may look crazy, but it greatly improves vocalisation.

  • Rofl!

  • I don't think Dave Mustaine uses this technique...

  • hahaha

  • "VERY ROUUUUND" and "VERY WIIIIIDE", okay let's do this..

  • i am amazaed how many incompetent people give vocal technique "tips". This is sad.

  • LOL The first scale thing she did was funny as shit

  • I know a better way to open up the throat ;)

  • ahhahaha! your funny =] that could work xD

  • lol jeezus man....

  • I tried to do this and puked all over my desk

  • lmfao

  • lol

  • @depelated man that would be embarissing i would probably not go to school 4 a while after that

  • @depelated u're comment made me laugh so much!!

  • @depelated LOL

  • @depelated hahahaha// expert village....

  • @depelated are you serious? lol

  • Comment removed

  • @depelated LOL

  • @depelated omg i dont wanna puke!!!!

  • @depelated if you don´t have been training to sing opera is very dificult to be able to do what she ask, when you have opera training that will happen naturaly, its about the tecnic that is used to sing opera

  • @depelated damn!!!!

  • @depelated and i licked that shit up and made out with you.

  • @depelated really?

  • @depelated lol

  • @depelated i noe i feel nauseous

  • I wanna go on stage with great music, maybe some lite rock, and get up to the mic and go "Ahhhhhhhhhh....."

  • haha love how she was "yawning" . she sounded really bored, though x)

  • lmao "ahhhh"?

  • Even the teacher laughed at the tone quality!

  • This is really good. This exercise helped me realize how much of a range I have :)

  • This is good for your range because it is a slide. For a better work out try lip trills (brrrr), zzzz, jjjjjj or a siren on 'ng' (as in siNG). It has little to do with a wide opening in the throat.

  • It does work better 'o.o... Thanks so much :D

  • sooo funny! man i love these videos! aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa! she sounded like she really was yawning.

  • Oh no. Her vocal folds are like 'hello - are you out there, I can't see you???'

I would call this falsetto (as in the Estill model) because the folds are clearly not getting full closure and lot of air is escaping - probably all the air she just told her to inhale. What an inefficient way to sing, no?

  • better than forcing up though. Going from falsetto (disconnected) to head voice is probably easier than from chest to head (thick cords to thin)

  • For some people, yes, and especially if singing in a high tessitura. But not for everyone.

  • agreed! i love it how none of these so called explainations actually touch on any basic vocal anatomy.. and this 'opening the throat' idea.. is complete rubbish for belting.

  • Good exercise

  • were is are you at

  • this *is* helpful, but Janna sounded tired LMFAO (she *really* sounded like she was yawning overdramatically, not singing)

  • Janice Sounds So Fucking Ridiculous

    It Was Funny :L

  • If you are learning to sing, you will look like an idiot. Vocal coaches have a hell lot of silly exercises... But in the end, benefits are enormous from them.

  • Twisted!

  • Ok... and how is this helpful? xDD

  • 3rd!

  • Yay 3rd xD

  • 2nd

  • first
