  • Bless his girlfriend, she is really understanding & doesn't get frustrated when he is doing his rituals. It's so hard :/

  • OCD sucks, I always think it would leave but it just changes form, fluctuating in intensity. first it was compulsive washing plus magical thinking now it's pure O, recently transitioned to obsessive Google usage... Not even mentioning the extreme social isolation and anxiety it causes. I envision how my life would've progressed vastly different for the better if I had never been afflicted with this shit. The mental health care where I live is a fucking joke(Calgary, AB, Canada)

  • that mail man is doing similar stuff to what i do. for example im always sticking my head under the desk during class about 15 times a lesson and i get 6 in a day i have about 20 other wierd stuff i do as well. i have been doing this since i was about six and i will be 15 soon. the reality is that you have to be strong enoughf to stop it. i managed to do it for about a year and before i noticed i started doing it again. This proves you can stop it but you have to be careful not to start it again

  • Makes you curious how the mailman is able to keep his job when just that one mail box kept him there that long

  • @ghostadv07 Fuck off, trying to make smart ass comments isn't funny when it comes to mental health and shit. Idiot

  • He would never do that if she did not knmow. that is a huge problem with facing ocd . If you let some one in. They become a part of it. its a lonely hell

  • omg ,thats totally me, except without the bathroom ritual procedure

  • idk i think i have ocd but i dont have rituals althoight some of the shit i seen i do at times glance back at things or need to check stuff 1 time extra but it dosnt affect me that much with rituals an stuff. i have some kind of mental ocd i hav rituals in my brain or i worry to much about world events or relationships shot beacause they do somthing that just bothers me to the point where i think about it all day and night then just dump them its very hard for me to cope idk i need help

  • This video was educational. This video was one of my favorites too. There are some great therapies available, such as the one on solutiontherapiesonline. -c-o-m. Medications seem to help too.

  • I have OCD...i think your a phony!!

  • Danny from Hustle!

  • whatching this guys ocd is contagious. fuck.

  • That video really bugged me, you did things left handedly and I do things right handed. I wanted to touch the things with my right hand like the door that was being checked was closed.

  • i have ocd i have to click my throught and blink and breath and stuff like that and folks its really not funny but its not crazy either. im trapped in a state were things have to be repeated over and over every single day..... its horrible.... :'(

  • what is the fat guy doing in the bathroom? i dont understand.someone explain to me.

  • I'm 13, and I've got OCD or borderline OCD. I think it came from me being really logical and precise about everything. I'm also really good at maths (I don't mean to boast) so that's why a lot of my OCD revolves around numbers.

  • @thesaxophoneboy dude im 16 dude and im good at math and numbers bother me even when i saw your age i had to say 19 so it equalls out to my age but im working on to get better

  • house theme song!!!!

  • Get a hold of yourself people!

  • I bet people with OCD are very good in bed.

  • I dealt with my OCD quite easily. I simply stopped my ritual e.g. walking over cracks in sidewalk with right than left foot.

  • All it requires to stop is will power and a blank mind. Pretend that if you do not stop your ritual, than someone will shoot you.

  • Fuck you OCD you ruin lifes.

  • i got ocd, but that music would give someone ocd ..

  • Poor guy :(

  • I know some people with OCD. People with this disorder are NOT unintelligent or crazy. The disorder controls them - they cannot control it.

  • rocaho001... pure idiot. OCD isn't just something you can turn off like "Oh, I feel like I'm okay, I don't need to do this anymore." YOU CAN'T FUCKING HELP IT. YOU HAVE TO DO IT. It's not something you just blame problems on. It's a real problem that people deal with daily. Including myself.

  • What a whacko. Seriously.

  • that niggas shits must come out clean

  • Great video! Thank you for putting the word out there about OCD.

  • nice song i love massive attack

  • Oh man, the post man and the guy checking and re-checking the doors.. is so me. I have had OCD since I was 11 (I'm 29 now) and it's gotten steadily worse. I am able to hide it from others (outside of my family and boyrfriends and stuff) because I've gotten so proficient at acting like I'm not doing anything unusual. I have obsessive thoughts and the rituals help me cancel them out for a few seconds. It.. really, really sucks.

  • haha that was a joke! (my last comment i meant)

  • 1st songs name plz ill sub u

  • fuck you pharma troll bastards i wasnt born crazy or OCD'd. its not caused by "chemical imbalance" there are things in life that can make its onset. it didnt happen until my teens & tons of shit preceded it first, like being a bully target & getting random bad luck. i do those stupid rituals in hopes of getting good luck again & its not fucking funny

  • I had OCD about 6 years ago. For me it was having to replicate every sensation on one side of my body to the other even the painful things.

  • everyone who hasnt got ocd should fucking shut up because you dont have an idea of how life ruining ocd is. I would like to see all of you fucking idiots with ocd and i bet you wouldnt last a day. so if you dont know what you are talking about please shut the fuck up because for us ocd is very very fucking difficult and frustrating and it really makes you suffer sometimes

  • you people have no idea how much OCD sucks right?

  • People with OCD have a very well developed imagination. They either make up stories or reasons for why they do things. I have OCD when I read something. If it's interesting, I have to read it 3 times. Or when I see a crack in the sidewalk, I have to step in this weird way. And if my writing is horrible I'll fix it until its better or rip out the page and start again. I used to come from school almost everyday and rewrite all of my notes because they weren't "perfect".

  • @ 0:35 No wonder people go POSTAL at work!

  • What's the guy doing in the bathroom? Why does he strongly breathe like that?

  • @kloug2006 I have been trying to figure it out. I know it has to do with OCD ... but I don't understand it.

  • I totally agree how dare so called fucking normal people be so fucking patronising insensitive and arrogant about OCD.

  • @gwr1945 cause it is a fuckin joke!! my dad was the worst case ocd ull ever find and imo hes just a fuckin asshole who cant deal with who he is so pathetic human are so pathetic

  • test

  • OCD is not funny at all. It's a condition that needs to be treated with love and respect...not mockery.

  • what was the song at the beginning?

  • when I was younger I would try to not step on the lines and stay in the squares when walking on a tile floor but I never felt that I had to go back and redo it if I stepped on one. Now I dont even think about it, just lucky it never got too me I guess!

  • The thing with the door when he tries to go away but it feel wrong for him or not done or what he feels, that seems Frustrating at the time :P

  • i know someone with ocd he doesnt repaeat stuff, hes just afraid that he might teleport!?

  • @PonDeAttack I have had many, many senseless fears attached to my OCD, which takes physical and mental forms. It's a staple of the disorder.

  • I use to have that. You don't have to deal with it anymore.

    Read my Testimony at fuentesevangelism.-c-o-m

  • when i read the comments by roacho001 i nearly cried , if u had OCD then u must know that its nearly impossible to ignore those thoughts in your mind , your horrible DO NOT critise people for a illness they can not help , i have OCD and i think ur comments on this video r horrible ! :(

  • I wish my fucking Mailman would double-check Mail he drops in my box! I received someone else's Tax Refund Check the other day, and loads of wrong addresses in my mailbox!!!!

  • @giaisbomb Well if you cashed that some one else tax return check i want half or i am calling FBI.

    hahahaha

    Just kidding

  • @USMANchampNO1 ===HAHA, No I am honest I re-mailed it. This poor Mailman here must have been embarrassed they filmed him. People with OCD are ridiculed. I find that really mean and thoughtless!

  • @giaisbomb Judging as a man with OCD myself, it is likely he wasn't checking the mail, but simply repeating the motions until they felt right. This precisely what I do.

  • tip: click in the red arrow above the video, the one that says: watch in a new window or something, you'll see the video with sound

  • @riveraluciano nope, they fixed it :/

  • What kinds of drugs do people take for OCD?

  • is it my computer or does this vid have no sound?

  • these copyright bastards messing up your "FAIR USE" educational film.. grr

  • Look for comments in "ocd girl" movie if want to get rid of OCD. These commens may apply to some.

  • Fuck WMG

  • Nice job - really. I'm diagnosed with Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder. I've watched other OCD videos on YouTube, but this is my favorite so far. Sound would be nice, but this doesn't even need sound to be effective. I liked the Mark Twain quote at the end. I love how you say in the information box that it isn't going to be anything great, but you have five stars and 34,279 views. Congratulations! Again, great job.

  • I have a lot of symptoms of OCD and I'm doing dynamic psychotherapy but I think that I don't feel it as a problem... strange

like I don't want to get rid of all these rituals I do

  • Thats because they satisfy the urge. Like scratching an itch.

  • yes that's an excellent way to put it. i'm currently going through psychotherapy as well for my OCD. it's working very well. good luck to you DryWhiskey.

  • same i dont really want to get rid of it cause it sometimes makes me feel good buts its a thing that keeps me diff from others i dont like being the same but some of it i want to get rid of

  • I LOVE THIS PERSON UNDER ME HE OR SHE FUCKING UNDERSTANDS AN INDIVIDUAL WITH O FUCKING C SONE OF A BITCH D FuCk OcD

  • That first clip was a very good example.

What happens is an individual imagines (involuntarily) some bad event, and then feels that only by repeating some random task in a certain order will that bad event not happen.

It is irrational, and they know it, but still, the disorder in the brain tells them they should do it and so they have to.

  • No, a bad event is not imagined. It's more like an urge to do it, and if you don't it drives you crazy. And you have to do it in the end. I have OCD.

  • Each kind of OCD is different, I suppose.

I had a totally different one, obsessive and compulsive thoughts, but not in combination with actions...

  • i have it like i cant stick to nothing like accounts and i like wanna start over my life or jus like start over idk but if you understand what im saying or feel the same way reply to me i would appreciate it - . -

  • I don't really know whether I have OCD or if I do it's mild. Often I have the compulsion to trace the pattern of an empty space with my hand. Say for example the shape of picture on the wall.

If i'm near an edge I have the urge to make myself trip off. When I'm cutting with a chop knife I have the urge to cut my wrist.

I feel the need to lock the doors when i'm in the car because otherwise I have an urge to open them whilst the car's moving.

  • ... Uh, that sounds more suicidal. Definitely not OCD.

  • yeah i know what you mean i do the car door thing and the cliff thing but when i have a knife sometimes i try to stab my hand like if i am not fast enough to dodge it then my hand gets stabed or cut until my mind catches up with my actions then i put down the knife and walk off

  • i have ocd with bipolar.

  • sometimes saying: ok i give up helps but obsessions doesn't really dissapear...

  • If you have OCD do a full blood test and urine test including urine sediments 24 h since a crysis. A substance that gives you the problem may pop up. There may be other causes like thyroid disorder, and so on but not all causes are knowed.

  • OCD is heredity, proven in my own family. This video has a good point not to try to cure the now but to save from future generations. If you look at history it has been around for all time, try to think of people who could have been afflicted...Hadrian built a wall so meticulous in measurement and oversaw the whole project...Hitler why did he hoard so many things and want a perfect race...The Pendle Witches could have been simply a group of people with strange OCD like habits who were shunned.

  • @uNeil4me ur comments are senseless and so is ur life!! my dad is the worst case ocd ull ever find and im not ocd at all???? should tell u something bitch

  • I wonder if theres anyone out there who dreams OCD, I often wake up with OCD in the middle of the night, working out some formula or maybe even dreamt of a practical notion, then I tell myself its not real and go back to sleep after I realise I am acting out of normality...maybe this should be put to good use when we are awake...its a thought to savour. Replies please!

  • Hey,wut's the song at the end called?

  • "teardrops" by Massive Attack

its the theme song for "House M.D."

  • hahah I ALWAYS CLOSE TWICE EVERY MAIL BOX WHEN I DROP IN.

  • i dont think im ocd but i nave to have things in a certain way or ill panic like my food books....and things i frequently use.....alot of the time i misplace things i freak out...i

  • he shouldnt be so mean in the way he commented but if u really think about it, he has a point. "They rationalize unbelievably stupid shit." <--- Is exactly why ppl are repeating and doing the same shit over and over. like nothing will happen to ur family members if u dont do it, you know if u think science/facts.

  • yes we know nothing will happen but our gut feeling still make our body and mind belive it will. I know its hard to understand but thats just how it is.

  • i know but we just have to convince ourselves that it wont happen. and i know its hard haha believe me i know it, but im trying my hardest cuz i dont want to be stuck with this crap all my life. i often ask myself why do i have to have this, this suks. and sometimes i just want to be dead.

  • it may not be rationalizing....there could very likely be a brain malfunction as this tends to run in families

  • and i know what im saying. you can trust me on that.

  • on the fact that he said "They rationalize unbelievably stupid shit."

  • You know ppl rocaho001 is not entirely wrong.

  • i understand ocd mostly. when people say that they cant stop doing things cause it'll make them anxious and they'll think about it all day it is understandable. but why must they repeat things, what does it feel like to desire to do the same thing over and over or make things perfect all the time, doesn't make sense to me. can someone who has ocd please try to explain, what do you fear will happen if you don't repeat and action or make things perfect? respond

  • i have ocd although i am in the proccess of getting a doctors diagnosis but im about 98% positive i have it. To me its not so much the need to repeat every thing that upsets me its the psycology < probs not spelt correct ! behind it which is what you are asking about. Allthough the bad thoughs differ from ocd to ocd sufferer my main thoughts are that maybe something bad will happen to me or people i care about like my family ie they will die in an accedent or something like that

  • for me personaly it can also be things that would to the average person be little worries. In a person with ocd these little worries will spiral completely out of proportion and will feel like something very much worse. This has happened to me and frequently does, to the point where i feel sick, cannot eat and cannot sleep. I am hoping to get help to overcome this once i have being diagnosed. I hope this has helped you understand a little more and keep strong to all other ocd readers of this

  • thanks for responding and i wish you the best of luck in your endeavors. even when you believe you face a condition that will have a large impact on your life you remain headstrong, looking to the future. i uphold unwavering respect for you and all others who strive to solve there problems, not dwell on them.

  • i have OCD. it doesnt make me a bad person. i dont blame disguisting people like rocah because ignorance is bliss. OCD is the fourth most common mental illness and in the top ten worste mental ilnessess and yet there is so little funding for OCD research charities. if anyone knows someone with OCD, be patient with them. dont let them carry out their compulsions. if they are doing things with light switches then take them away from the light. response prevention is crucial. bless you all, peace

  • its hard to live with ocd and i dont care what people think of me because im not any different than anyone else!

  • rocaho001

You are an ignorant little shit and you have no idea what you're talking about. OCD people are not dumb, and you clearly don't understand anything about the disorder because your explanation of it is very, very wrong. OCD Is not a bullshit excuse, and OCD is not like "Oh, maybe I just won't do my rituals today because I don't feel like it." It's much harder than that. Never try to preach something about OCD ever again because you have no idea what the fuck you're talking about.

  • @thefreakydirector OCD sucks bad. too bad it takes over my life at times :(

  • @thefreakydirector fuck u sexual misfit and fuck all ur ocd little sucker ur all fuckin pathetic and all deserve to die like the little bitch u are

  • @thefreakydirector all of you fools are all saying oh i do this and i do that but no one here ever ask himself why u are anxious?? again sexual misfits trying to get attention

  • @thefreakydirector I couldn't have said it better myself

  • @thefreakydirector You're right, they are not dumb, who said that? They don't get to choose when they are born weather to have it or not, Its not their faults. :(

  • you sound like the type of person who would probly say someone with downsyndrome or another involantry mental illness is faking it and should just try to "overcome" something that is as involantry as breathing. I can only hope that you or any of your family never have to suffer from a mental illness like ocd, but by the comments you have allready made it sounds like you allready are brain dead or mentally retarded.

  • HaHa! Yoiu wouldn't know it if a screwdiver was being driven thrugh your ball sac (which hopefully it will)

    Christian loser!

  • maybe if you lose some weight fat fuck youd be able to take a shit easier....if your fat butt cheeks would lose some weight less shit would smear so you wouldnt have to use half a roll you tard. Hit the gym you tard.

  • Treatment and/or meds are not a necessity to conquer OCD. I suffered with it from childhood to my late 20's and got over it with simple 'mind over matter'. You have to realize how stupid it is and just get over it. Sometimes laziness can be a good thing!

  • Do you know that the brain and the spinal nervous system are intrinsically connected? Many problems start with the trauma of birth; .Video on youtube" gentle upper cervical "atlas spinal correction" there are other types of upper cervical specific techniques. Light toggle recoil is one of the techniques that are out there. Up c spine has a list of practitioners that are in each state. Duff method is an excellent choice if you can find one.

  • You know the OCD mailman is racking up that Overtime...

  • lol yeah, think our money is going to this guy who does the same thing compulsively getting nothing done..

  • oceansofangels, not everyone with OCD believes that things have magical powers. Some people believe that if they don't do a ritual, something evil (magical) will happen to them. Some people just do rituals, mindlessly, compulsively.

  • you know what fuck you your talking about something you dont have and judging the people i have ocd its not liek you can just stop if you dont jsut stop your constantly thinking about so i would apprieciate it if you could show people respect ass hole

  • i dont think you understand fuckface, if you avoid doing it it can literaly fuck up your whole day because you cant stop thinking about it. its an anxiety disorder. you will neverso you cant say know what its like because you dont have it so shut you gay mouth

  • what's the name of the first song

  • Tear drop - Massive Attack

  • I used to have this for 18 years and it took me years to figure out how to deal with this, suggestions:

-when u feel u are going to start a compulsive act just SIT DOWN and BREATH, just BREATH long and deep, think that GOD is protecting u.

-Start to love everything around u and stop thinking what you HAVE to do, NOT to be the best, the cleanest, NOTHING.

-Don´t eat white sugar, coffee, don´t smoke, not to much fat and eat in regular hours.

    -SLEEP, practice RELAXATION.

  • That fucking lady in the middle of the video doesn't get it.

  • Good Job!

  • 12345blahbla you are very wrong. OCD is all about rituals and obsessions. People with OCD feel they must do something over and over again or else something bad may happen. Or they just feel a compulsion to do something over and over again or else... whether that compulsion may be cleaning, checking, organizing, or whatever. It usually gets in the way of life.

  • Hiya thefreakydirector, no YOU and 1234blahbla are right, sometimes you do rituals over and over and you believe things have magical powers. Is not just about one specific action is ´cause mentally you feel aprensive to everything including magic and paranormal stuff

  • How the fuck do you know?

  • coz I been living with this for 12 years and basically I just said what works with me

  • everybody's different.

  • that fat guy looked like his ocd was not really that real. and whoever made this video does not understand ocd. it is not about being clean, it is a mental disorder where people believe things have magical properties, its not about washing their hands its about doing a "ritual" so that they can get it perfect, or else some magical effect will cause them harm.

  • I hate OCD so much. I have it and I can't take it. I set a number for myself, and i must touch something that number of times. I am crazy??

  • No, ur not, if people want to talk technical, OCD is simply a pattern of the brain within itself, no one understands the brain, and why it funcations the way it does, but you cannot compare the brain to what man has made, and then call it crazy, because that simply makes you crazy, and now this is a paradox :)

  • I understand how he is going through.

I also have OCD; but not that bad. And I know it can cost my job and life.

I am working on it. For those who have the same problems couple suggestions:

    1. Eat alot of turkey because it has serotonin. I dont know how but it helps me.

    2. When you have the obsessive thoughts, TRY YOUR BEST not to follow it with the compulsion behavior.

    3. Remmber that youre not alone in this. We are all in the same boat.

  • I have OCD too

  • My OCD is not half as bad as those in the video. What helped me was resistance therapy. That is, you resist the urges after you expose yourself to them. It's extremely hard work, and you think you are going to go crazy, but if you stick with it, you really feel at peace once the habits are broken. I never knew this type of peace existed.

  • I have ocd and sucks!!!!!!!!!

  • Yeah? What is it then.

  • Towards the end the description of Cognitive therapy incorrect. CT is actually not focused on unconscious emotions and drives (this is actually psychoanalysis), but rather on identifying distorted thinking, modifying beliefs, relating to others in different ways, and changing behaviors. The focus on unconscious emotions and drives has actually shown very little effectiveness in treating OCD, though Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) has been found quite effective.

  • POOR GUY

    THIS AINT FUNNY

  • Horrible video, you know jacked shit.

  • good video... thinking about using it to teach a didactic in my psych class. thanks

  • Not a very understanding caring girlfriend.

  • That's a really good video. Thanks for putting it up :)

  • I am defo Ocdeed

  • For me i dont necessarily fear being unclean, i just have really weird habits like i have to line objects up with my eyes and hands, or wipe my fingernails along furniture and stuff and loads more i can list.

  • Oh and in this video when he makes sure the door is locked he uses his left hand! I always have to use my right hand, or touch it with my right hand after.

  • great video

  • find it an excelent work...

  • Loved the Mark Twain quote at the end, good piece of production. Very informative.*****

  • Hey this is a serious matter and it needs

serious attention ,but with treatment and

support theres a light in the end of the tunnel.

  • good video thx

  • Excellent Video,5 stars:)

  • the first song of the female, I mean, who is singing that ??

  • I have 2 friends who have this, it is very tough to live with, wish you all the best and lots of love, thanks for the informative video xoxo LOny. I love the song very cool!

  • Educational and Inspiring! Only courageous people can talk openly about their problems, and that to me is the start of the recovery, i have mild symptoms of the same, thanks for posting.. and best of luck to all people who look their problems straight in the eye, the world needs differences *******

  • cool educational video!!!5*****

  • This is a very good video. Well made and good important information. It touches me deeply. I had to cry for a moment, because I know so well how I was when my OCD was so bad. I still have OCD and still suffer. BUT I have treatment and it so much better. I have Behavioral Therapy and cognitive therapy and medication exactly what was mentioned in your video!!!

    **************************************************

  • just try to face it man... U know obsessions are false so you can try to ignore them...It is stress and the only way to stop it is trying to ignore your thoughts and maybe with time you could get over it... Good Luck

  • I had OCD at one point. I had to check everything before i slept. One time i decided to stop everything and sleep. Frist night i was restless, but later on i got over it.

  • my boyfriend left me...but at that time both of us didnt know i was having OCD.

my ocd was about thoughts, it was like i had a sudden urge to ask questions about our relationships...i felt so ashamed of it, it ruined my best relationships ever, i lost a man i could end up marrying.

  • i'm sorry, cause i have it, but that mailman was hilarious. how's he keep his job?

  • detremental to well-being. that about sums it up.

  • tbh i enjoy my ocd in many ways i can shape my psycology logically overcome my fear force my mind to thinking be motivating calculate. but the price is a high one and worth it

  • ASSHOLE ASSHOLE ASSHOLE
