This splitter is still going strong 3 years later. I have split atleast 12 cords of hard woods, so far, with zero maintenance. Great little splitter!

I have the same splitter and its 3 years old now and i have easily split over 20 cords with it, maple and and red oak, even splits sweet gum. Make sure the vent screw is open on the end of the splitter.........
