  • French position :)

  • LMFAO. I started playing the video at 1:03... I almost pissed myself watching.

  • très cher ami DOM ! merci pour ce cours! DIDIER D'AGOSTINO BATTEUR/COMPOSITEUR et professeur de batterie FRANCAIS, VIDEOS ON YOUTUBE,DAILYMOTION

  • ... whats the difference between "germanic" and "american" position? I don't get it.

  • @PingaloBill The hands are closer together. French is closest, followed by American, followed by German(ic). The angle of the German grip is 90 degrees.

  • @MikePostDrums Thank you :-)

  • awesome teacher

  • There was so much of the Moeller method I didn't understand and was doing wrong. This video is fantastic and clearing it up so much.

  • Jim Chapin's student!! Jim RIP!!

  • is this from a dvd?

  • ...Yeah but if you take into account the cost of the tip, then those tabs aren't really free, are they. 0:55

  • Expensive tip! how much was the string!?

  • We saw him again for the third time yesterday Sunday 11/14/2010. This time in Indianapolis. He is a wonderful public speaker. Go Dom.

  • OMGGG!!! I just had a clinic with him!

HE WAS PLAYING ON HIS GLASSES!!!!

IT WAS THE MOST AMAZING SHIT I HAVE EVER SEEN!!!!!!!!!

  • It's funny that I taught this to myself (obviously not as well) playing Rock Band to conserve energy. Rhythm games aren't useless, contrary to popular belief.. -.-

  • Great!!!THX a lot for it!

  • I love Dom Famularo. He's amazing.

  • dude, nice job, but why did u even mention about the positions? seriously, this video isn'a about the positions, its about the moeller.

  • Great vid- well presented-

Dom is an awesome teacher, in real life OR

    on YouTube

  • Didn't Dom Famularo get lessons from Buddy Rich when he (Dom) was a lot younger?

I think I remember him saying in one of his drum clinics about 4 years ago that when he was growing up he lived in Chicago and had lessons from Buddy and they'd spend the entire lesson on a practice pad everytime. Genius. Excellent technique as a result.

  • azz le altezze quando fa la moeller contemporaneamente con dx e sx sono tutte uguali!!!!!!!!!!!!!! freaking sweet!

  • this man is a beast (in the good way)

  • googd info thanx

  • very useful YOU ROCK MEN

  • Yes ... MEN !

  • there has been a american grip. theres 4 different grips.

    german, american, french and traditional.

it's very good to learn this technique. i've learned it and i no longer have to do rim shots.

  • actually, there are two traditional and match, german, american and french are types of match grip

  • hey, he almost switched to traditional grip at 2:44, probably old habits that die hard.

  • Ahahahahahah! You're right!

  • there have never been an american grip, it's just namend by maybe dom himself.

  • It' s certainly the newest of the 3 grips,

(at least the name is the newest), but not necessarily so new as to be credited to Dom. Since German is backhand up & French is thumb up, it's valid to name the position in between , where the 1st knuckle & the gap between the 1st finger & thumb are up. It's good for using the advantages of each of the other 2, (more finger control than /German, more power than French),& it's probably used more often by more drummers than the other 2.

  • he always looks like hes enjoying every thing he does and that is the most important thing ! much respect !!!

  • he always looks like that, he's the happiest mellow person I've ever seen. Does good tutorials too:)

  • Dane watched this

  • Dom glad to see you keeping on keeping on! You are an inspiration to many!!! Thanks for all the efforts!

  • very very teachful... the best of all I think

  • I love how everything ends up being about having fun. thats why i play, to have fun. Dom's the man

  • I agree. he probably has to be one of the best coaches out there for raising a smile while you learn.

man I sound like a commercial!!!!!

  • @nairnodrums -----But your right .His personality is great and i infectious

  • Wow, what an awesome teacher! Thanks M. Famularo! I have seen other videos about the moeller technique, and this is the best by far :-) I'll be sure to check his other vids too!

  • i recon weckl's is better, but that's just me. i like how he reads into it a lot so it's more informative and the camera angle of the vid changes based on what needs to be seen. i love dom though and i recon he's rightfully a respected teacher and player.

  • youtube rules... this lessons maybe will cost hundred of dollars.

  • thanks melli!

  • Dom your explanation is toooo sick. Good job man.
