Hey I still have one unused ticket for Knebworth 1975 . . saw them then but the sound was all wrong i.e. keyboards were tune up in the wrong key or something. saw them at t, the wall, Tour, Wish you were hear tour,Animals tour twice, division bell twice, (was there when the stand fell down) we all thought it was a great Floyd effect!. I will NEVER be satisfied, always want to see them more, but hey how can they now......Without Rick imean? That's it, no more, finito.
One of my greatest regrets in life is never having seen Floyd live. In my younger years, I thought of them as a "listen while you're messed up" band. Now I realize they played amazing music and did it to play amazing music, not to play for a bunch of messed up teenagers. Sadly, this music is being lost to todays computer generated, no talent, sing to get famous "artists". What is happening to good music...to REAL music? Roger/David...please save the world. Come back to us.
I have always had the greatest respect for British artist's and Pink Floyd was one of the greatest bands ever assembled. What happened to this style of music? I'm happy to have lived through one of the most fantastic times for music.
I play guitar and singing, so I tried to play this song...and i have small problem.
In last chorus i cant sing high notes..Is it Rick Wright singing and David Gilmour sing this second voice like this video....On Studio version a cant hear it but its veeeeery beatuiful.
@AxlRoseACDC Well, yes and no. Because of the extensive use of double tracking and layering, it is hard to tell with a live version. I do not think that Rick Wright, piano player, sings on this. On the studio version, it is Roger and Dave singing. The second chorus is both Dave and Roger, combined.
Without a doubt this is a stellar song from Pink Floyd. Hauntingly beautiful in so many levels. Such magical chemistry between Waters and Gilmour with the harmonies...almost, if not, transcending.
mother, another brick in the wall, learning to fly, run, just too many to list that can just play on over and over. not many bands acheive the level of musical perfection in a live show like pink floyd.
@MrDamnifiknow : so true, High Hopes, marooned, a great day for freedom... well, that whole album (Division Bell) is grossly underappreciated, but perhaps that's what PF is all about...
@illisanantexico the division bell is with out a doubt underappreciated. i caught the div bell tour back in 92 - 93? (have to go dig up the concert shirt to be for sure) awsome show. 2.5 hours of musical bliss even w/o waters it was incredible. i feel some just can't grasp the complex simplicity (think about it) of the lyrical/musical arrangments. pure perfection.
I wish I could have seen Nick Rich Roger and David all on the same stage, the music they created was magic, sum of all parts and not just one individual. I hoped they could have done a reunion before Rich had passed in 2008. Perhaps in 2011. I've seen both Roger (The Wall reenaction) and David (1994) and can say that yes it is good, but not nearly as great as what it would be like when they are all on stage.
Not enough people appreciate how Roger Waters brought out the best of david Gilmour. Rogers placement of David's talents cannot be argued with at all. Therefore, the wall may have been bland without David Gilmour, but it would have been just as bland without any other member of the band.
@greenscene1122 The best thing about Floyd was the dichotomy between Waters and Gilmore. Waters certainly isn't known for great bass playing or vocals...it was his song-writing ability. I would say that Gilmore's playing ability and voice brought out the best Water's had to offer.
we are all lost; it only differs in degrees. i have seen our differences poignantly; shall i now see our similarities? how bittersweet it will be, how it will always be. are we in this together? can we now be? we weren't once, you know, you turned away, all of you did, and i was alone. but i am determined to forgive your ignorance, and to try to understand it as that, rather than evil, which it has felt like. i will do what i can for you. i will love. the pain and hatred shall fade.
@danethebrain David only wrote music for 3 (?) songs, even though they included Comfortably Numb and Run Like Hell. Without David The Wall would be somewhat less spectacular but it would still be legendary and a lot better than The Final Cut. And don't diss The Final Cut!
@danethebrain David plays on the Final Cut. What makes Final Cut incomplete is the absence of Richard Wright. Pink Floyd is not just Roger and David, it is a four member band. Anyone missing and it's not Pink Floyd anymore.
@kaorisugarboy Unfortunately the perfection will be lost since Richard has pasted on, he to works wonder on the keyboards and the vocals also. I wish that Roger and David would have buried the hatchet before Richard death, my dream of taking my son to a Floyd concert can never be realized. I did take him to see the Wall tour when it stopped in Chicago. We were in section 2 row 3 seats 1-3. That is the closest he will ever get to a Floyd concert, unless Roger and David work it out.
@kaorisugarboy If you read Nick Mason's book "Inside Out: A Personal History of Pink Floyd" I think you'll understand why the two aren't on speaking terms.
God David and Roger are still acting like little kids! Make up already fuckers! I wanna here you guys and see you guys in a concert TOGETHER. Enough with this feud crap!

I absolutely love the tempo to this song. it goes from positive to very dark, Roger Waters is a genius.
Depths0fDepravity 1 year ago
how can a tempo be positive or dark?
101dotbitch 1 year ago
@101dotbitch it's the feeling of the song, the quality of the notes. when they said tempo, i think they meant feeling of the notes.

@101dotbitch listen to this song, and you'll understand

Can someone help me with this? I'm looking for an instrumental Pink Floyd's song that I heard!! it's only with one acoustic guitar!!
eloquis 1 year ago
@eloquis could it be The Norrow Way, pt 1, off Ummagumma, or Is there Anybody Out There off The Wall? They've both acoustic instrumentals
