I think the bass-like chord are just open strings. Changing the tope notes can make it sound like the bottom notes are changing, but they're not.

Even if there was a cd in the background, who do you think is playing the ukulele note by note, not to mention all the chords he is playing. That's a ukulele and a ukulele sound. There's know background' music, he is playing all alone and is so good an animateur would think there's music in the background. If you have an ear for music you would truly hear it. To a trained eye I can see the moves he is doing. He is using a pick an rhythm plus a roll. This guy has talent.

I got to meet him after a bela fleck and the flecktones concert. He's realllllllllly talented (if you couldn't tell) and just about the nicest person I've met. A good 50 people stupidly kept asking him "what is that instrument?"- and everytime he was really polite to talk about it. I would've smashed something over their head personally.
