@notmycity Colossians 2:16 Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath. [On the sabbath the Jews in Jerusalam gather at the synogogue, that is a holy convocation lumped together with the other feasts under the law. We are not under the law. Jesus is not only Lord over the sabbath day but He is the sabbath rest that day was a shadow of.]
@2tires Have you noticed that all of these things contradicting Yah's holy Law are from Paul's writings? Yeshua said we can do good on the sabbath; not "don't keep the sabbath" He said "If you love me, keep my commandments." Who is Yeshua? He is Elohim in the flesh. So we keep His Laws. Do you worship Yeshua ha'Mashiach, Son of the Most High, or Saul of Tarsus? Examine yourself brother. May Ehyeh bless you, and protect you.
@macroheart Saint Peter wrote the following about Paul, so you need to pay attention. 2 Peter3:15 And account that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation; even as our beloved brother Paul also according to the wisdom given unto him hath written unto you; 16 As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction.
@macroheart If you live by the law you will be judged by the law. Strive rather to be judged by Pauls gospel Romans 2:16 In the day when God shall judge the secrets of men by Jesus Christ according to my gospel.
@macroheart If you think that there is a contridiction it is because you have the message of Jesus to the Jews and applied it incorrectly. Jesus keep the law and taught to keep the commandments to the Jews. He always told his disciples to stay away from the gentiles with only one exception. Read Matt. 10. it is all concerning the Jews. You will not find any thing about the church either out side of Paul's epistles except in Matt. when Jesus is speaking to Peter about the church he will build.
@macroheart Jesus was minister to the circumsion. Paul was minister to the uncircumsion. There was 2 different messages but 1 Savior who was Yeshua, aka Jesus.
@2tires That's true, I agree with you on that aspect, but just look at Paul's testimonies when he talks about his "divine" experience. He testifies the first time and the second time he changes his testimony. Plus, read Acts 21:24-28. I just don't see Paul as a very reliable person, but that's just me. I will trust in the OT, the gospels, and anything written by the apostles who were with Jesus in His lifetime as a man.
@macroheart The book of Acts is a book of transition from Jesus's gospel to the circumsion (the nation of Israel and them alone) to Paul's gospel of grace. If you don't see Paul as reliable then you must not find Peter reliable or the scriptures reliable at all. Peter says ALL of Paul's epistles were written per the wisdom that was given Paul. Who gave Paul this wisdom? Jesus did.
@2tires Of course I find the sciptures and Peter who was with Jesus reliable. Look at the accounts of Paul's testimony of his conversion. They are contradictory and he lies about it 2 times after his first testimony. Then, he says "he was not sent to baptize but to preach the gospel" but Jesus told his apostles to baptize them in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Paul tought against the teachings of Yah and the Torah. Compare them for yourself. They contradict eachother.
@macroheart If you find Peter reliable then you should find Paul reliable as well.
@macroheart Please read 2 Peter 3:15 Peter says someone will meet with destruction.
Paul wasn't sent to baptize. He was sent to preach. He preached "his gospel" the gospel that was assigned to him to preach. He was minister to the Gentiles, Romans 15:16. The Gentiles didn't need to repent and be baptized to be saved, Acts 10:34-48 If you read this note the difference how they simply believed and was saved and filled with the Spirit. Also, note what Peter says in Acts 10:28.
@macroheart Romans 15:8 Now I say that Jesus Christ was a minister of the circumcision for the truth of God, to confirm the promises [made] unto the fathers:
So when Jesus told his apostles to baptize them in the name of The Father, Son and Holy Spirit he was saying baptize the Jews not the Gentiles. He always steered his follower away from the Gentiles.
When the temple was destroyed and the Jews scattered their gospel ended and the gospel of grace began. There's no contradiction.
@macroheart If you put what was taught to Jews only with what was taught to Gentiles the bible will contridict itself. Keep the two separate and you will understand better what the bible is telling us. Paul teaches[Rom.10:9]That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
@macroheart Here is Paul's message [rom. 10] That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved, For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. Here is one of the Jewish apostles- Acts 2:38 Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the Holy Ghost.
@notmycity Lev.23:3 Six days shall work be done: but the seventh day is the sabbath of rest, an holy convocation; ye shall do no work therein: it is the sabbath of the LORD in all your dwellings.4 These are the feasts of the LORD, even holy convocations, which ye shall proclaim in their seasons. [7th day sabbath is considered as a feast a holy convocation.
@notmycity Rom. 10:9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
10:10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. [righteousness comes by faith not by law]
@notmycity 1 Tim.1:9 Knowing this, that the law is not made for a righteous man, but for the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly and for sinners, for unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers,
1:10 For whoremongers, for them that defile themselves with mankind, for menstealers, for liars, for perjured persons....[this is the 10c's, it is for judgement of the unright.]
That's fine about the sheep, but Friday sundown to Saturday sundown is sabbath. God bless.
