If you never used MS Office before then it would be easy to master the ribbon interface

But if you are only familar with the menu interface of the older versions of MS Office then it will take lots of time to learn how to use the new ribbon interface since all the commands and functions have been rearranged and redesigned

I hate the ribbon and everyone I speak to hates it. 2003 was the last decent version of office and this one has just got more stuff that noone wants. Open Office is the way forward I think. Microsoft havent issued a single decent product in the last five years. Server 2008, vists, 7 office, all crap.

Piece of advice. If you are able to have the time to orientate yourself with office 2010 so that you are able to utilize it's full effectiveness in your every-day work. Trust me, the product is well worth the price. If not, then don't even think of wasting your money and under utilizing this complex, useful software package.

well ive tested xp and win7 on my computer (3ghz dual core, 4 gb ram DRR2, 1GB Graphics) and i found that windows 7 is faster. I was using windows 7 ultimate build 7600 (pre release) it was still faster! so imagine what the final release version will bring!

Well it has the final release has lived up to its expectations in it being one of the fastest operating systems yet! I'm using Windows 7 Ultimate and it is much faster than what it was on XP and five times faster than windows vista. This is going to be a very long term OS.

It is faster, It has a new iconised taskbar, boot speed is increased, much more equipped against malware, Windows explorer has been completely rewritten (Libraries). It overall is the new, modern Windows XP. (Also compatability issues in windows vista have been eradicated.)
