cant say man, dont know any grunts that got stationed near FL but some in the carolinas. housing its tight, but the barracks sucks. so it you're married you'll get a house, if not, the barracks.
@JDuWayne Is infranrty a good unit? My recruiter was telling me to go infrantry saying that I would have no porblem getting to infrantry based on my practice scores on the ASVAB. Are other units like K9 MP much harder to get into?
@helmet122 Infantry is a MOS (your job). And for the most part the units are pretty much the same it depends on if you have good leaders or not. And i'm not sure if you are assigned on a k-9 team or you have to meet certain skill sets.
@Marine5484 The recruiter told me based on my scores I would get infrantry and about the k9, he said if it's available then I asked about special units like SF and he mentioned MARSOC
@helmet122 Well if you want to go MARSOC then infantry is your best bet but I suggest you get a !st class PFT and qual expert on the range. You will have to go through a indoc course to see if you can hack the schooling and training required by MARSOC.

Sorry PFC? not sure on your rank, but in order to join the Marine Corps you need a High school diploma. A waiver can be obtained but in order to waiver a diploma you still need atleast a GED and 15 college credits.
I wanna be an 0311, but i have a question about how you pick your mos. when you go to MEPS, do you like a wish list of 3 mos you want or do you pick your mos if you have a high enough score on the asvab?
