@roblpere This is a female dog, she's most likely in her period. I have a girl basset hound and she had to wear a diaper during that time of the year (because they only have two per year). And they last three weeks at a time. My dogs fixed now because she was having too many periods and it was messing her up. She use to think her dog toy was her baby because it had her scent. If you get a girl dog, get them fixed unless you want puppies.

Oh, I remember the days of the doggy diapers...

When our cocker spaniel was in heat and had to wear diapers she wouldn't walk around because she hated the sound the diaper made.

Yours doesn't seem to mind, which is good :)

Lol, she's just plain adorable though. I have a mutt, so I love mixed breeds. She looks like she's got about 10% beagle or something going on in her, because she's very happy and energetic, and bassets have a tendency to be more lax. Super cute. ;-)

She is normally not this energetic but there is food out she suddenly gets energetic. She is also only a year old in this video and not fixed. We also only feed her once a day to keep her trim so dinner time is exciting.

This isn't completely true, Bassets are however you are. If you are fat and lazy, then the basset will have no problem lounging with you. But if you are like me, then your basset will happily keep pace and love to be outside running around.

I just adopted a female basset, I didnt know they dont get their period after they are spayed. I even told hubby about it, and told him that we may have to be careful when she was in her period, he almost didnt wanna adopt her, but I told him that some dogs are more careful than others and clean themselves better... but she was altered and everything, so, got nothing to worry :).

Yeah, I couldn't have an unspayed dog in my house, or any unaltered dog for that matter. I fully believe in spaying and neutering. :-)
