Clana was better in every possible way! they had been together for the longest time...... Well.. whatver.... Clois Fans you got them together at the end right.. stop fighting now!
Lets be hapy in this way :
Clana = long time relationship(Together for 8 seasons)
they spent way to much time on the disaster that was clana...i liked them at the beginning, but they had no trust for each other at the end..clois was awesome, very disappointed we only got a couple years of them.
Lana was Clark's High School sweetheart. It was passionate and unstable, as someone said before, as young love usually is. Clark was not ready for someone as brash and straight forward as Lois and would of course stick within your comfort level, meaning Lana. I don't doubt that Clark loved Lana but a love like theirs was doomed from the start, it was slightly obsessive and unhealthy at times, & because of that he may never have become the hero had he stayed with Lana.
@melantale29 I just never thought Clana was a well-written relationship and or that Lana was a well-defined character. I found her very non-descript and written simply to suit the plot itself, rather than giving her a real personality like Chloe or Lois.
@TheMrbollox KK and ED are both gorgeous. KK is exotic while ED is sultry. It’s all personal preference, isn’t it? Yeah, the blonde hair didn't suit Erica, but that was done at the request of SV.
If we go according to what you wrote, it would mean Clark Kent is actually 10x a better person for choosing Lois -- meaning a woman of substance is what appeals to him.
Is it just me or is does Lois always stand out? I mean, even if the few scenes where Lana is not her horrible self and is actually sweet/cool (like this one), I feel like all you need is a shot of Lois or a remark and it is VERY obvious why Clark would go for someone like Lois (and not Lana). I think he knows, too, because we get too see a lot of that gorgeous smile when Lois is around.
@SeulementMoi101 Yes, Lois has a tough exterior, but she's COOL! Basically, she's at ease with who she is. Clark always seems to be comfortable around Lois. I think it took him so long to realize Lois was THE ONE is in part due to Lois. You could tell at various points over the years that she was attracted to Clark, but she would always make jokes or belittle him (in a lighthearted way, but still!), so he would just take that to mean that she wasn't interested in him in that way.
@drlee2 Well, it is weird to find a naked (but hot) guy with amnesia in a corn field. He's a year younger than her, a naive & earnest farm boy, and in a constant funk over Lana -- yeah, I can see why Lois wasn't interested in Clark that way in the beginning. LOL But Clark's charms did soon win her over though. :)
@DofRC I find it ironic that Clark was able to develop an uneasy friendship with Lois, which ends up being the foundation for the deeper relationship that develops over YEARS, while pursuing an extremely passionate, but unstable, romance with Lana. Lois would not have allowed herself to become interested in someone who had so clearly given their heart to someone else, which I think was evident by how respectful she was of Clana from the beginning.
@daeuri Raised in a small town w/ traditional values it makes sense that young Clark's ideal girl would be Lana. He wasn't ready for the sexy, spirited & smart Lois Lane. To me the irony is that as young Clark he wasn't ready for these attributes, but as a man they're among the qualities that attracts him to Lois. Lois has always been respectful, loyal & caring to her friends. She has too much honor & self-respect to be interested in a guy in love with another, or one not interested in her.
@DofRC Well, I think both Lois and Clark needed to grow as well. Neither really knew what they wanted out of life. It's ironic that they've had mutiple conversations about their futures over the years, neither knowing that they WERE each other's future.
@drlee2 The first phone booth scene is a testament to their innate bond & growth. Lois--w/out knowing RBB is Clark--instinctively zeroed in on the one thing that has ruled Clark’s life: his essential aloneness & the fear of it. For career-driven Lois to not write the RBB story & for Clark/RBB to accept Lois' offer as a confidante--that was a huge moment for both. What I find ironic is the attributes that young Clark shied away from in Lois are the ones that the man now loves, wants & needs.
LOIS CANT KICK LANAS ASS IF YOU NOTICE EVERYTIME LOIS TRAYS TOO PUT UP A FIGHT SHE ALWAYS GETS HER ASS KICKED BACK AND FORTH......BUT WHEN EVER LANA TRYS TO PUT UP A FIGHT SHE KICKS ASS....BUT YOUR RIGHT LOIS DOES HAVE CLARK BUT SHES ALSO ALWAYS THE VICTOM BUT NOT LANA....LANAS INDEPENDENT NOW......WITH MILLIONS
LANA =PAST DEAD AND BURIED LOIS LANE =PRESENT AND FUTURE AND BEYOND PLUS CLARKS TRUE LOVE AND TRUE SOULMATE CLOIS RULES LOIS CAN KICK LANAS AS ASS ANYWHERE AND DAY CLOIS FOREVER TRUE LOVE THUMPS UP IF YOU AGREE
In all honesty, though, much as I disliked Lana's character in the later years, I actually think they did a good job of portraying a nice friendship between Lana and Lois in Season 4.
@drlee2 When you remove Clark from the conversation, it becomes easier to see that these two women are beautiful, intelligent, and strong, and they have enough self respect to where they are not threatened by the other. I think their friendship was rooted in mutual respect and whatever affection existed was probably a function of them having Clark and Chloe in common (albeit for different reasons).
i like the next scene when they go to see clark. lana gets out and clark is like "LANA :D" then lois gets out "....Lois.. -_-" hahah. :) clana FTW :D just sayin
They never really became rivals because Krisitin Kreuk decided to leave the show in Season 7. Although, my guess that if she decided to stay, there's really wouldnt be a rivalry between Lois and Lana since Lana is the Leading Lady of Smallville and she is more important in the show, unlike Lois Lane, who only got importance because of KK's departure in the show. Lois would probably still be a background and secondary character if KK's Lana stayed in the show. The show might end up with Clana 2.

If Kristin Kreuk decided to stay on Smallville, we all know that Lois will still be a secondary background supporting character and therefore Smallville will end up with Clark and Lana together...plus Lana was the centre of Lex and Clark's life and she was the leading lady for almost 7 years...

Actually I thought Chloe was the best, she could keep secrets unlike Lana and wasn't dominering like Lois.
