you are one of my favorite artists....love watching how much time you took doing an earring...I would've done it in one swipe....that's way I'm watching these videos & not posting them.
@rosso2500 its like "I would like to be a giant bodybuilder with 2% bodyfat... but I love to eat cheeseburgers and fries.. can I be a giant bodybuilder????" yes rosso2500 you can be, and you can be an artist too
This guy has some really nice paintings.. but I'd like maybe a video with one of his more in depth paintings, edited down to some of the most rudimentary important moments during the process. THEN , I might be interested in spending 75 bucks on a three hour dvd. It's too expensive even for a painter of his caliber.
Have this DVD and it's great.....best part of 3 hrs to finish the painting and it's amazing to watch this talented artist work and give his thought process. Lipking is also a very down to earth guy and an absolute gent! Hats off to his success!
wasn't impressed by watching him paint a piece of earring. if a whopping 4 minutes of video are spent on this it tells me it's not worthy to pay the dvd price. sorry!

@ChrisTube3333 Definitely one of the best when it comes to technical aspects, but I wouldn't say the most original. Although he is original. Originality only matters as far as you're work isn't inhibited by unoriginality. You can say Lipking has absorbed his love for Sargent, Zorn, Sorolla, and Lepage; you can see it in his work. That is great. I just wish he'd move away from focusing on technical and decorative aspects and give narrative and concepts a try.

Thanks, Jeremy, for sharing this. You show a lot of energy and perseverance --the right consistency, the right value, the right placement of brush stroke---it's beyond complicated, and yet you make it look easy. I enjoy your artwork. Now, back to my paints and easel for more stimulating tediousness!
beautiful painting i do think it looks a lot like her there just somethings u cant capture in a painting vise versa in real life .......this painter cant talk ...um the ..um the..female..umm face THANK GOD HE CAN PAINT lol

He is so unsure about putting the brush on the canvas! He should have used a smaller brush to paint the earing. Mixing colour and talking all the time instead of working on the protrait, showing a lack of confidence and experience.
many painters dab dab tweak fix dab dab, but alla prima has an axiom, "a brushstroke laid, is a brushstroke stayed"...and there is no greater confidence than focused intent. The hesitation is visualizing the stroke in advance, aiming and making each stroke count. Master painters also use the largest brush possible 'til it can be used no longer...a sign of great confidence and long experience. Quite the contrary to your summation, bbDD
it is the slowness that aids the process for a few reasons, you get a much better finished painting, the painter enjoys the work more, the painting process is meditative, contemplative and precise, not expressive and spontaneous ... in this case.

If you ask me the painting is better then the image photo. Not trying to attack any one. Just stating an opinion.

Actually, If you can cough up large funds for one of his workshops, you're painting ability will increase ten-fold and they are somewhat enjoyable.
