In one story this boy went to get some water from a spring and a mermaid gazing at him from underwater fell in love with him. When he was close enough she pulled him in and drowned him not know humans cant breath under water. What makes them dangerous in most of the old stories is there child like way of thinking. One minute there flurting with you, then next minute they will kill and eat you.
