i really dont see how religion ties into good music, good music is good music, regardless of whether or not you believe in God, i personally am jewish, and i love these guys, i know christians who love them, agnostics that do, athiests that do, they are simply an amazing band regardless of religion

First of all I love this song. I've gone through similar situation as the song as I'm sure many people have. Yeah she takes christian "metaphors" which are just that, "metaphors". I'm happened to be a christian who happened to be a former atheist but that has nothing to do with my taste in music. Within Temptation has pretty cool music if not the best rock chick band I know.
Who cares if I'm christian and someone else is atheist and the band is agnostic or whatever...what matters is that the music is good and It unites us all to agree in one thing and that It's pretty "COOL" music.
I would like to answer some of the questions some of the others made to share my mind and then you make up your own mind. In reference to the Bible, it's has been God inspired. But to see it fully you would have to get every translation in every language.
That is when prayer comes into play and you pray to God to give you the message he is trying to convey to you. One section of scripture can have many many interpretation and the funny thing is that they all or some can be true. Tackketh1, I'm sorry to say but you are wrong: that's the whole point God want us to depend on Him always for anything and everything. The only reason for suffering in this world is to bring us closer to Him.
Because the moment your realize who the true ruler of this world is and know he is a desciver you realize that the one letting you suffer was not God all along but the Devil. Everybody is invited to read the Book of Job. And of course there is the old question of how do we know that God exist? Well I ask, how do we know He doesn't? I questioned that same two questioned, which actually lead me to Believe. And I can go on and on.
Imperfect men (which includes moi), put too much stock in what we can see with our eyes. We cannot see God because God is spirit and therefore invisible but surely we can feel Him. I mean think about it. We do not see electricity, air, and well the internet but yet we know it's there. It produces energy. When we fall in love we cannot touch it but we certaintly feel it. When we see a structure we see only the building but not the builder.
ahh yes you may be correct for at least some part of that, however energy, air and the internet ALL have clear and measureable effects and we have proof that they exist, visable to us or not, god has not yet been detected, ecxcept for those who say they have "felt" his energy, which is a deeply personal feeling caused by emotion, and a person with the need to belive in somthing.
Yet we know that in some point there was one. I see the earth and I'm still at awe at how structurely everything is even when there is chaos. I mean Nature. Even our own bodies. I mean yeah maybe to a certain extent evolution does exist but you cannot discard that even that can be precisely structured. When I'm not here to change your mind cause only God knows when He will just like He did with me. WITHIN TEMPTATION ROCK though!!!!! LOL....:)

Thousands of people can be wrong, it is entirely possible. After all, we were told Pluto as a planet and believed it, until someone actually took the time to learn otherwise, and now (hopefully) we are taught it is not included as a planet in our solar system.
I do not believe in God, merely stating that if she believes in God - then he'd had to create science as well, which disproves a great deal of things that the Bible states.
As a person of "science" you should then concede that current scientific facts are based upon the best guess of available data at the time. As new data and methods and standards of truth come along, then so do the known facts change. Since as humans our senses are fallible [inverted spectrum] we therefore are prone to be wrong about our "facts." What God is varies from person to person so statistically there must be God for at least 1 human which means God exists, though it may be be your God
Science is not based from guesses. We have a lot of evidence to believe the things science has provided us, and it all conclusively adds up. Saying God exists because humans believe in him does not prove anything other than that it is possible to conceive of a God. We have no more proof to believe in the Christian God any more than the Flying Spaghetti Monster - they are all without evidence.
Why believe something without evidence? It's better to base your beliefs off of what we know to be true rather than just plugging in "God" for everything we don't know and claiming that answers it, when it just creates more questions.
Science is nothing but an arrangement of "best guesses." 5 yrs ago science knew that there were 9 planets. 1000 yrs ago science knew that the earth was flat. Now we know that those "scientific facts" were wrong. If I define the laptop that Im holding as God and I can prove that this laptop exists than that means that God exists. I never claimed that what you would classify as God exists I only claimed that God exists by the virtue that what 1 or more people define as God can be proven to exist
If I, for example, define my mouse as a cookie, and prove it's existence, I can then test it's cookie-ness by, for example, trying to eat it.
After extracting the splinters from my mouth, I have proven that the mouse is neither tasty nor suitable to be eaten, and is as such not a cookie.
So, if you laptop doesn't start doing some miracles or somehow behave godly, the only conclusion can be that it is not God, and so God's existence is not proven.
Hahah.. a fight about science and god? either way it's what one believes, and if their beliefs shouldnt have to be scrutinized. My opinion, evolution, as to how it all started. "how did the big bang happen" who knows, i say if you can prove to me theres a god, then do it, otherwise ill stick with what is currently shown to me, which science has done a fairly good job thus far.

You must not know too much about the Grand Canyon, let alone the fact that rivers can shape the rock around them. Over millions of years, you believe it is impossible for a river to carve that deep of gorge? This is something that happened over a period of 17 million years, and this has already been proved by scientists.
It isn't about the river being high, it is erosion.
The canyon has nothing to do with evolution, you must not know too much about erosion or evolution to make that assumption.
The canyon has been proven by carbon dating to have sediments dating back over 17 million years, while there is no date for the Great Flood, but the only way for it to ever had happened would be around 4,500 years ago. This is the only time the Great Flood could have happened, and actually has scientific evidence to back it up.
I'm assuming you think the world is flat and only 6,000 years old then to think it is impossible. Scientists have done carbon dating, and the sediment dates back 17 million years, is that so hard to believe? If anything, I think you need to fall harder for the Bible, which over half the things have NOT been able to be proven by science exist or have happened.

God is a non-answer. Saying "God did it" answers nothing, it just creates more questions. Where did God come from then? Who created your God? You first have to show how you know the Bible is true. I suggest you read the Bible. There are hundreds of contradictions, absurdities, and simple fiction in the Bible. Go to a website called Skepticsannotatedbible and look at some of the things on there. If you really want to follow the morals that are taught in that evil book, then you need counseling.
I do not want to know your father's opinion, I'm looking for yours. I want to understand why you actually believe the things written in the Bible, over things that have been proven countless times, that are more credible than the Bible.

They're not specifically Christian. I mean, they refer to Mother Earth in a couple of songs. I think they have their own beliefs. But a lot of bands make metaphors involving Christian believes.
I don't care if my favorite artists believe in God or not (I don't believe in God), what I care about is how they emote in their music and the melodies they create. And WT create unique and powerful melodies.

God challenges us every day he lets us choose our own path and lets us learn from our mistakes from our own pain and suffering there is a reason why he does what he does god loves us all but he is not our babysitters and he does not want us to depend on him because if we did we would never learn on how to work things out for ourselfs but when times get bad he will lead you away from it but if you dont have faith in him why should he help you?

You are merely telling me what you wish to here, because none of the information you've given to me is mentioned in the Bible. The Bible says your God gives you the limits on what you can, and cannot eat - as well as even touch. How is that freedom?

Evolution.
If you take a young child, they have absolutely no idea what a deity is. Why? Because all deities of all pantheons are man-made. They were created to explain the things such as Zeus throwing lightning bolts - but now science explains how it happens.
So you still believe that the light can be created without a source? I suppose I shouldn't expect a gnostic Christian to understand the little things in the Bible that show it's flaws.

You must not know too much about the Grand Canyon, let alone the fact that rivers can shape the rock around them. Over millions of years, you believe it is impossible for a river to carve that deep of gorge? This is something that happened over a period of 17 million years, and this has already been proved by scientists.
It isn't about the river being high, it is erosion.

The canyon has nothing to do with evolution, you must not know too much about erosion or evolution to make that assumption.
The canyon has been proven by carbon dating to have sediments dating back over 17 million years, while there is no date for the Great Flood, but the only way for it to ever had happened would be around 4,500 years ago. This is the only time the Great Flood could have happened, and actually has scientific evidence to back it up.

I'm assuming you think the world is flat and only 6,000 years old then to think it is impossible. Scientists have done carbon dating, and the sediment dates back 17 million years, is that so hard to believe? If anything, I think you need to fall harder for the Bible, which over half the things have NOT been able to be proven by science exist or have happened.

God is a non-answer. Saying "God did it" answers nothing, it just creates more questions. Where did God come from then? Who created your God? And aside from that, how do you know which God to believe in? Throughout humanity there have been thousands of Gods, and none have any credible evidence more than another. Saying that Christianity is true because the Bible says so is making the assumption that the Bible is true in the first place.

You first have to show how you know the Bible is true. I suggest you read the Bible. There are hundreds of contradictions, absurdities, and simple fiction in the Bible. Go to a website called Skepticsannotatedbible and look at some of the things on there. If you really want to follow the morals that are taught in that evil book, then you need counseling.

They're not specifically Christian. I mean, they refer to Mother Earth in a couple of songs. I think they have their own beliefs. But a lot of bands make metaphors involving Christian believes.

I don't care if my favorite artists believe in God or not (I don't believe in God), what I care about is how they emote in their music and the melodies they create. And WT create unique and powerful melodies.
I'm an aspiring singer/songwriter too and when I perform, I don't care if my fans believe in God and I hope they don't care if I do or not either, because that's not the point of why I'm playing for them. I'm just trying to make them feel.
