I am the driver of the 5.0 haha. This was my first time down the track with the car. It's manual and at the time was all stock with the mufflers removed. The stock tires are absolutely terrible on the track. Running nitto nt555's now, might not make another pass until I get some slicks :) correct best time that night was a 13.2 @ 112
I'm tired of everyone getting pissed off cuz they say the jeep is a "7.0" and its not fair. The Jeep SRT8 comes stock with a 6.1 Hemi and awd. The 2012 has a 6.4 and awd. The 6.1 is a 426, and I believe the 6.4 is a 440. Idk where you guys keep getting this 7.0 shit from
@livingfastdyingfun you know evo x with a tune and no mods can beat 5.0 mustangs easy. i dont see them complaining about the extra 3.0L the mustang has. stop crying. the jeep srt8 is a very well made vehicle. the mustang is too dont get me wrong..it just cant handle the jeep lol
The Jeep is an awesome vehicle. I'd drive one in a heartbeat. Still, it's a mistake-free car... plant your foot and go. Literally can't fuck it up. The Mustang, especially with a manual, will be hard to drive at full potential -- but that's what makes going to the strip fun. I've taken my 5.0 once, and ran from 13.1 - 13.3. It was a pretty hot and humid night. I think given better atmospherics I could've hit 12.9.
i use to beat SRT Jeeps with my 4.6 2005 GT , i had full exhaust, tune, cai, nitto's ... so im pretty sure either the 5.0 owner needs the driver mod, these new 5.0's are fast, im sure with better driving he would have walked the Jeep...
no offence Jeepers, im a Jeep GC owner now i love those cars, i know "shoulda, woulda, coulda" dont mean a thing , end of the day the Jeep won :)
@QuickStang5o yeah 13.9 is really bad, think his best pass was a 13.3 that night at like 107-108mph. So far i have not seen any of the 5.0s run faster than 12.7(ish) with drag radials, not saying they wont, just havent seen one at the track yet.

The 4.6 has a chance on a roll,not from a dig.even with your mild bolt ons.I race my friends 03 cobra on a roll and he only beats me by 1 car.

First nice jeep but 13.9 is horrible for a 5.0. With some drag radials it would be a good race.
