  • the board looks like shit,, if your going to be a lazy ass just play video games.

  • hahaha predators is on TV in the background......lol.

  • For the Greater Good! Tau kick almost anyone's butt. Accept for Necrons man do I hate them.

  • Ha! The greater good has the day won

  • Seeing all that unfinished terrain, I REALLY want to go in there and paint it.

  • 0:28 any hear the tyranids suck allot of balls thing lol

  • Basically the Tyranids were being destroyed from the very beginning.

  • looks like a starcraft bunker

  • I thought you couldnt take hammer heads if you chose to have commander farsight in your army?

  • @sanninjiraiya No, the only things you CAN'T take when using Farsight are Kroot, Vespid and Etherals, bt there was some other rule for hammerheads and some other things.

  • nice broadsides, but the tau need more pathfinders.

  • i remember my first warhammer, it was completely black wit a completely red sword. i was incredibly proud, also i was 10..

  • yeh tau are awesome plus my lil brother is just getting into warhammer 40k so and he collects tyranids so yeah this match was good

  • Carb-Ine, not carbean. Magical E makes it a hard I. 1st grade bro

  • Tyranids FTW!

  • Tau suck massive Wonka Willy; its all about SPESS MEHRENZ

  • @lShadowHunter gaunts with spinefists. The dual pistol looking things. Cheapest version of gaunts last edition, I think it's like a twin-linked bolt pistol this edition.

  • kick the people watching the tv out, or mute it when you film?

  • IT LOOKS LIKE SO MUCH FUN!!!!

I'm a shitty painter with no Patience tough :(

  • for all those people who look down upon unpainted miniatures, i think unpainted miniatures are better than miniatiures with a bad color sceme or poor paint job. if you dont know how to paint a model, look on the web, go to your local game shop and ask around. ps. tau are awesome.

  • IMMA FIRING MAH CAR BEAN!!!!!!!!!

  • do you still need to paint the table??

  • lol, the bunker would be perfect for a marines vs. nids battle :)

  • 4th edition?

  • That's f*cking awesome! The wall is playing in the background. 6:36

  • @thomasbhunter68 That's a bit condescending. No i imagine that there aren't a lot of people playing every day. But come sat. and sun. there are definitely more than dozen on those days :p

  • i LOVE LOVE LOVE the starcraft bunker dude

  • 13 people have their parents made of polystiren

  • PEOPLE WE HAVE TO ACT QUICLKY !! IF WE DONT DO ANYTHING NOW THEN THE WORLD WILL BE AN ALL POLYSTIREN LANDSCAPES WHERE GIANTS GODS WILL HAVE FUN SENDING FLOOD OF BLACK PAINTED SOLDIERS ON US XD

  • Lol " a hammerhead with a rail gun" , without a rail gun it's a devil fish not a hammerhead xD

  • @PR0UD2BEBR1TISH Hammerhead's can be run with an Ion Cannon instead of the Railgun.

  • Boah du solltest dieses geile Schlachtfeld anmalen das würde übelst hammer aussehen.

  • are u Greek ??

  • what is that playing in the background?

  • With so many battle reports on youtube if you want your videos watched will you please paint first.

  • @mellvins0059 this has NOTHING to do with ur comment, but, if im a brand new player, and dont know how to play, can i still buy a tua battle set? and the rule book? or should i buy Assualt on black reach, i dont rly like SM or Orks, soooo yea. Respond.... N E one :)

  • @alexweislak92 If you know you want Tau then I would recommend just buying a 40k assault on black reach on ebay. You can one there for $15 if you are lucky. Then from there get the tau codex and the battleforce (which i think is a good box) and you are off to a good start.

  • @mellvins0059 Thank You ^ ^

  • @mellvins0059 Thank You ^ ^

  • @alexweislak92 The great thing about Games Workshop is.. As long as you have the main rule book, you can then by what ever you want. If you know you want to play Tau then Ebay the rule book if you can, then go out and buy the Tau Codex and a couple troops and you are set. AOBR is just a starter set for those who aren't sure what they want just yet.

  • haha, nice movie you have on in the background. American Psycho, one of my favorite movies :)

You guys have any tips for a new gamer who thinks of start playing with the Tau Empire? (never played WH40K)

  • Comfortably numb <3

  • ROFLMAO, Harry potter?.. try to watch the game insteed =D

  • your gaming table need a LOT more work.

  • u guys only got 2000 pt's ??

  • I've been playing 40k since age 10 and I gotta say, it beats any video game you'll ever play. One of the most fun and involving hobbies/pastimes around.

  • @Spjungen i prefer dow40k way much then starcraft:D

  • Sounds like you were watchin critters lol Lovin the starcraft bunker though ; )

  • i know this is nitpickin, but that tv (or watever it was) in the background was fukin distractin ;P

  • I dig the starcraft bunker!

  • TAU WOMEN ONLY LIKE HUMAN MEN!

  • for the greater good!

  • it almost sounds like the zelda theme song for a moment in the background. hmmm depending on how many points this game was, i would have fielded two hammerheads and replaced the broadsides with piranhas. reason for two hammerheads is to simply exploit the submunition rounds on tyranids! take out junks of his army! while the piranha rush and harass with str 8 ap1! DO IT!

  • gay the best army is phonies am l right

  • one question why are the models so expensive i would play this but i don't make enough money :C

  • armor value 12 building? nice architexture but seiusly i suck at making landscapes so i really shouldn't say your's bad.

  • awesome terrain, inspired me to go get some Styrofoam and build something like it

    P.S. awesome terran bunker

  • for the greater good

  • its funny first turn 2000 pints

    2nd turn 1700 points

    3rd turn deepstrike! 1600 points

pretty funny how much u can lose

  • rofl people just call them NIDS like everyone else, then the problem is solved and you can sound cool like everyone else who speaks about them :D

  • Tyranids are based off Dinosaurs... Originally. Tyran was taken off the infamous dinosaur, Tyrannosaurus Rex.

If you think of the Pronunciation of Tyrannosaurus Rex, you can start thinking on how to pronounce Tyranids.

In my case, though, I just say it the way I want to, which is T-Aye-ranids. Don't ask why, I just do :P

  • @McDreich *slap*

They're based off of the Tyrannosarus rex in name only.

They're based off of H.R Giger's Xenomorph that was seen in ALL the Alien films.

  • about how much do these cost? A casaul player

  • what? 100 points is like one squad

  • @TheDeviantSlave um i pplay tau and ive got 3475 point army and i only use 2500 it cost me about $350-$400 becuase of vehicles and pathfinders and combat drones and sheild drones i dont play a tyranid army so i dont know how much itll cost

  • It's pronounced TEER-uh-nids in the video games and even in interviews with people employed by GW.

  • Were you watching The Wall by pink floyd

  • Pink floyd ftw!

  • Carb-eye-ns, not carb-ee-ns

  • Starcraft bunker there?

  • @Franklord Haha yeah I was about to say, that looks just like the Terran bunker. =P

  • and you are watching predator XD, u guys rule

  • no fucking wai u are watching american psycho XD

  • looks like starcraft bunker

  • @ Paul, I think its commendable that you are trying to understand the game and not just flaking it like a lot of other people.

The thing with 40k is that its a sociable game much like risk or other board games. People enjoy the game because of the social side. Also the way its structured means its difficult to come up with "best" armies. In an rts you can develop a system to win, i.e fastest way to make units or whatever, 40k has too much diversity for this sort of strategy, relying on skill

  • @ Paul

I'm going to piggy-back of Relkur here, who's nailing some good points.

I love the 'puter games for WH40K (DOW/DOW2), but there's something special about table-top, where you can meet people or hang with friends, and generally I've found to be more rewarding than dealing with people over the internet.

It's slower paced (which can be SO nice) and as Relkur says, sociable. DOW's are in my top 10, but if I had to chose to only play one, I'd pick TT - plz try both before you criticize

  • agreed. sure, the computer games are great. but its just so you won't play alone. i prefer the tabletop. more skill and admiration. i got a friend hooked up to this game. taought him with my tau and he's tyranids. just to say, any army is strong in the tt if you are a good commander. taus are weak in close range but i was able to mow down space marines with drones. haha

  • you say t-I -ran -ids tyranids next time lern from your mastaks itiyit

  • it is pronounced t-I-ranids not t-Y-ranids

  • nope it is actually t- Y-ranids. I don't know where you got the idea that it was spelled the way you spelt it.

  • no its not its T-I-RANIDS. its just spelt tyranids. ive known the t-I-ranid for yeeaars. i go to warhammer world alot and they say T-I-RNIDS. mostly because warhammer world britian is where games workshop came from. warhammer is BRITISH. and the tyranid exibition is on, STILL T-I-RANIDS.

  • I am sorry but that makes absolutely no sense. I have the codex and it has a y instead of an I. All the tyranid related fluff uses the y as well. I am beginning to think you are a troll >_>

  • i know its SPELLED WITH A Y BUT ITS PRONOUNCED WITH A Y.

  • its obvious this paul guy doesn't have the ability to understand the strategy behind the game. There many aspects you need to learn to be able to compete. The game delivers a lot of enjoyment for people who like strategy instead of quick reaction games.

  • pink floyd!!!!!!!

  • Why ask, Paul? The fact is, MILLIONS of people play 40k EVERYDAY. It's one thing to simply say you don't care for it, but entirely another to sit there and ask why others do, like it's something to be looked down upon. We like it. Period. You don't? Fine. Go do something you like and leave us to ours.

  • nicely said (Y)

  • @TrustkillProductionz

Im was'nt having a go or anything i just find it hard to see how its fun thats all

  • @ViDeOMaStErPaUl it is really fun yeh when i first started 4 yrs ago i wal like wtf hw boring but once u get started u get hooked on it. now i do tau and i love them

  • @Deamonsoilder For the greater good!

  • @bbsmyname hell yeh

  • @TrustkillProductionz you speak the truth brother

  • @TrustkillProductionz this has NOTHING to do with ur comment, but, if im a brand new player, and dont know how to play, can i still buy a tua battle set? and the rule book? or should i buy Assualt on black reach, i dont rly like SM or Orks, soooo yea. Respond.... N E one :)

  • @alexweislak92 You can buy the mini rule book from assault on black reach at the warstore is awesome for that when you need a piece of something but not the whole thing =)

go to the gamesworkshop tab then the battle wagon bits tab then 40k subsection and finally assault on black reach bits

  • @TrustkillProductionz Millions?!? Dude, you really underestimate mathematics :D

I would say, not even 4K people a Week play this ... now I am just saying ;-)

  • @badjohny2005 underestimate? umm.. fail. the proper term would be OVER estimate. better to say nothing and have everyone think you're an idiot, than prove it to them all.

  • @badjohny2005 4k? Really? considering the growth of the company, the number of stores worldwide(not counting independents who sell the GW product) and the huge fan base, it is clear your comment was not meant as anything but an insult. To that I say Lutsch' meine Eier

  • The problem, Paul, is that you sound like someone who has absolutely no patience. Your argument is a bit juvenile considering chess isn't realtime, nor is Risk nor are dozens of other beloved board games.

RTS games favor twitch reflexes and are less cerebral. Some of us don't care one whit about twitch reflexes.

  • To be fair i played both chess and risk and enjoyed them both.

But this seems a bit OTT (over the top) i mean rolling dice moving some thing AN INCH come on man do you really move them with a ruler or summink. no way i would be able to do that.

And believe me i have patience aslong as somebody does'nt do something stupid, say if i played this 40k warhammer and some douche moved stuff and was against the rules then i wouldnt be patient

I just dont understand how you can be excited with this

  • @ViDeOMaStErPaUl Some would say "I play checkers and dominoes, but how can you play chess and risk? I mean, pieces that move in all different ways or where you have to keep track of little men?" Consider it the next level up from chess and risk (actually, axis and allies is prolly the next level up ...). Not everyone likes everything. Some play games that make 40k look simplistic...

  • @davethepak RIsk is an interesting game but i would possibly be into warhammer but the whole move 1 inch thing is what i think puts me off. While risk you can place and move to any country near the one your on. Chess you move in sqaures, but this you move every piece a few Cm or inch before the game continues it just seems stupid and weird. But thats opinion

  • @ViDeOMaStErPaUl

most models move 6 inches or more. thats alot more then 1 inch. count out 6 inches on a ruler or something and see how far that is. its bigger then people expect.

Yes it is a weird concept and it takes a while to get used to but if your into the hobby then it grows on ya, I'm canadian and i've always known the metric system but I always think in inches now because of this game.

  • @Aphroditeyy 6 inches is the same size as a 15 cm ruler so yea its quite a move

  • when you create your army your self you have such a great enthusiasm in games, u feel connected to your men, and u dont want them to die at all!!! this is a much greater test of strategy than the video game, as you have equal armys.

  • @rightwingnutjob2 - OMFG ROFL THATS HILARIOUS!!!

  • U should of made a cluster 2 9er it would of evaded the first counter offensive strike then u woulda had a kill streak aswell.

  • starcraft bunker.lol.thts just funny.too of my favrite games mixed

  • No offense mate and good battle report! But turn the bloody TV off or something....really annoying.

  • indeed, turn the TV off

  • i think he should have put some kroot int the battle to let them capture objectives and to be used as meatsheilds to protect your preicious fire warriors from the gean steaallers if they were to come at you.

  • new tyranids revealed today!!!

  • tyranids are the scariest things I have vsed

I play tau anyone got tips??

  • don't move your fire warriors ever. i solid line of at least 2 squads of 12 warriors will take care of most units. that's of course if there isn't reams of terrain

  • thanks but what about thos guys who can get summoned and attack the back of my army

  • kroot are ok in combat, so they can be deployed behind your fire warriors. but they got no save unless in jungles. also, they can have kroot hounds in their squad, they are good at close combat

  • if your tau i recommend either a devil fish to protect your rear or kroot with shaper

  • shoot them from afar although another tip is to try not to even play against tyranids coz u'll get creamed in combat

  • im planning on doing a tyranid army, should i use a biovore and spore mines?

  • Not unless they are fixed. Biovores were monsters in 3rd, useful in 4th and useless in 5th edition. When they fix the spore mine issue, and the fact that all biovores form one squad and fire at the same target, they might become viable again.

  • It's a fair sized battle and is narrated a lot better than most larger battles.

    I love he scenery too,

Of course I support the nids

This is a interesting battle, the best close combat versus the best long range

    Awesome came and commentry :)

  • the bunker looks exactly like the ones from Starcraft

  • i like the terain. is all that home made?

  • The structure in the middle looks like the terran bunker from starcraft.

The video was good, the first time I've seen the tabletop game being played.

  • I was just about to say that until i read this comment. Too bad starcraft totally ripped off warhammer though.

  • How so?

  • Oh, i just heard about a law suit warhammer had because they thought zerg and terrain were rip offs of tyranids and space marines.

  • *states the obvious*

Well, they do seem extremely similar...

  • Tau are killing a lot so far but i have to remember this is objectives and nids seem to be holding out well.

What are you watching on the TV anyway?

  • I think it looks like the movie "The Wall" with Pink Floyd music.

  • Nice bunker, and i lol'd at the house- good video

  • Tyranids FTW

  • i liked this stuff when i was 10 cuz the whole war thing was cooln but i never got into it

  • that bunker in the middle looked like one from starcraft. good vid though>

  • I love watching BR, but what i can't stand is having the T.V. on in the background!! It's so annoying in videos. PEOPLE DON'T HAVE YOUR T.V. ON IN THE BACKGROUND OF YOUR VIDEOS.

  • blood raven you know what annoys me even more... unpainted minis

  • LOL Terran Bunker xD

  • go tyranids

  • the terrain LOL

    like the bunker.

  • Go tau's

  • IM SO PUMPED

  • what are those green half circle-like things with the arrows on them?

  • turn markers

  • littl counter things to remind you of objectives or damage to vehicles. the half circle one is probably the turn one

  • lol i just heard american psycho in the background , 5 stars just for that lol

  • tyranids are the best

  • im a tyranid player and i dont think you should have as much termagants. i think you should have more gene stealers and horma gaunt s if your an upclose kind of player

  • Unless you're actually worried about trying to fit in enough cannon fodder in the amount of points you have. Hormagaunts at 10 points a model is waay too expensive. Same goes for genestealers, which are so fragile and will die in no time if you dont have some cheap termagants to sheild them.

  • Termies, or even spinegaunts are better for caputrung objectives, and ae cheaper, hormies cost 10pts per model and die to lasgun fire....;(:(:( maybe the new codex will make them more usefull:)

  • Great vid im gonna start playing tau i can't decide what to buy first for my troop choice kroot or fire wariors

  • fire warriors are the shit, but wht do i know, i play chaos

  • tau first as they are your best choice for a beginner tau player, as tau army is a shotty army and so is this troop choice.

  • Id definitely say the Fire Warriors. FW are Awesome ranged fighers, but kroot are just average melee. Unless you're fighting orks or summat with lots of meele id say FW.

  • nice i collect tau two but my points

    are 2849 pts.

  • Also, nice starcraft bunker. :D

  • Haha, that music in the background was great for atmosphere.

  • can some1 tell me what a fire warriors pulse rifle ap is

  • pulse rifles are 30" S5 AP5 Rapid Fire.

  • Comment removed

  • that dude has a cool laugh

  • lol the place is crowded with Markers :P

PS: OMG starcraft Bunker!!! Wish i had one

  • yo i wish i have one too.

  • ai liked the battle) but please paint the models) it would be more cool)

  • omg....the background noise is ENNOYING!!! but did they ever hear of paint??

  • Don't need to paint them to enjoy the game

  • i totally agree.... i will admit when i started the hobby i wanted all my models painted but then i was getting models faster than i could paint them so i totally ditched that thought

  • its actually spelt annoying** ;]

  • spelled*

  • wait a minute did i see arnie on the tv...

right near the end, was it predator on the tv by any chance?

  • tv in background is annoying as hell, struggling to listen to what he is saying

  • Aye, very good batrep!

  • Really well done battle report :)
