  • greag record!I think he is a great pianist.his sound is great.he plays with heart, and playing with heart is very important for a pianist(instrumentist) beocouse in that way he can touch people hearts and he will be amazing

  • wonderful....one of the best interpretation I've ever heard!!!!!

  • Mmmmmmmmm...beautifull piece:)

  • So then why comment at all if all we are suppose to say is well done?? Obviously the guy plays very well and at a high level. When people read certain comments and then listen to the actual performance, they can decide what comments they may agree with or that have merit.

  • very stylistically played.:)

  • Piano "sings" when he plays. Very melancholic slow parts, the fast ones are very demonic. Perfect sense of style!!!> Great pianist!!!

  • For "my taste" after the 7th minute, it is too jumpy and scherzando. I would like it still deeper and dramatic. And I have NO idea how many other people in this world would have my taste or his about these passages.

He has great sound, very sensible touch, very precise and careful pedalling, tons of remarkable ideas...

  • one advice to people who write comments: there is nothing wrong with different tastes and ideas, however, about a pianist who plays obviously above a certain level, one should bear in mind that he spent 50 times more time and energy than anybody feels free to write here.Writing things such as "do this, do that!" is really a waste of space and it is ignorant. Please give him (and yourself) a break

  • In general, it is a fairly sensitive performance, however, the repeated chords could be a bit softer-quasi strings and the dotted rhythms are played almost double-dotted. Nice tone throughout though.

  • You have right:)

  • Love his interpretation... He must have read Senancour who inspired this work of Liszt

  • Arrau's version is the best for this work. Get his Philips Liszt Sonata, Benediction, Concert Etudes, Vallee d'obermann. Benediction & Vallee are the best I've ever heard, even better than Brendel's.

  • I really don't like his interpretation.

  • It's ok but from minute 7:20 "Recitativo" please give us a break!!! Too much unnecessary dynamics!!! Listen to Arrau!!!

  • I wasn't too keen on his Liszt sonata, but fortunately I just came across a few other films of this pianist and they are all superb. Excellent tone and musical ideas.

  • A wonderfully romantic yet very strong and powerful performance!!! Pianist Sviridov is just great. Too bad we do not hear him often in concert, but his CDs speak for themselves. Thank you for posting and sharing the art of this great musician.

  • Awesome performance. Thanks for sharing the art of this great musician.

  • I am commenting on almost every Sviridov's recording on YouTube. He is great. Too bad he is not well-known yet. I wish him the best. Wonderful performance - just listen to the sound he is producing - never overforced, yet powerful on forte; pianos and pianissimi - the best. Thanks for posting.
