  • MIDI = the most important? I think the electric cable is the most important one hahah

  • but that UNO plug is midi-usb... how do you make it to take the audio... or the DTXPLORER have an usb output??

  • What USB Soundcard do you use for low latency?

  • hi thanks to ur reply..can i still use my dtx amps?thank u so much and godbless

  • hi..r u using the dtxplorer amps?

  • @MegaKaiowas : nope. I am using my studio monitors. You can also use headphones.

  • is it possible to buy a rack to fit on to this, for more toms and stuff

  • @ForMetalWeWouldDie well...you have to buy a rack to fit the toms, and the rack comes with the kit. (not sure about after-market rack though). It's yamaha specific.

  • @ForMetalWeWouldDie : Yes, but you will also need to buy another module. This module is very limited.

  • Great job. Also, you sound like Malcolm McDowell when you speak. Haha.

  • @filmmakingjoe Haha...that is true. :-)

  • hey, how can i plug in my ipod to the dtxplorer? what type of cable do i need?

  • @ern707 it has an aux in

  • @ern707 just a 3.5mm male to male stereo cable from ipod headphone output to aux in on drum module

  • hey i've got the same drums..and ive got a usb to midi cable.i have connected the cable to my imac but i can't seem to play it on garageband.can you help me out?thanks

  • Hey sorry if i'm asking a dumb question but, the midi interface has 1 midi out and in right? So i know that the midi out goes to your dtxplorer but what about the midi in? I'm not clear on that. And for the the m-audio transit soundcard, is it necessary for me to just trig the the DFH and not for recording?

  • @FuqSter : Yes. That is true. It has both MIDI OUT/IN. I am not using MIDI in, only the out to my Laptop. As for the Transit soundcard, you will absolutely need it for DHF, recording and monitoring.

  • Great vid sonnetg - I have the DTXpressii and the EZ drummer running on my computer. I use other drum programs`→ dtx mania and the HD-1 drum tutor..all work gtreat after mapping.

Can you explain how you do the mapping in EZD? and

Why do you need a sound card if not mixing or recording.?

    thxs

  • do you have tohook up a yamaha DTXplorer Electronic Drum Set to a computer

  • You sound like the joker from batman ;)

  • Do I need to run it through a mixer then through my amplifier?

    Thanks

  • Hi mate,

How do you fix the latency? I have a roladn td3 kit, I've setup the ezdrummer software and plugged in m-audio uno, I have a berhinger U Control as my usb soundcard/ audio interface. I run it from my rolnd kit to laptop, laptop to my Bass ampplier which has 4 inputs to it. The sound comes out muffled (I have the exact same rca cable you have running from transit card to mixer) on my amplifier, and the latency is way off.

  • Roland = Better than Yamaha

  • to get rid of latency, go to devices - device setup - midi port setup (tick the two boxes, use system timestamp for windows midi inputs and another one, cant remember wich) then go to the tap Asio DirectX Full Duplex Driver - control panel and change latency to 2.

can u tell me what notes you changed in the drum map for the toms and snare and stuff to be on the right pads?

  • god the latency is terrible, i suggest getting a better midi interface/soundcard

  • Hi, I was wondering if you absolutely needed a mixer and such to work EZdrummer/DFH on a Yamaha DTXplorer kit. I'm planning to get the program and all but right now I have My yamaha DTXplorer and My Roland KC-150 Amp. I was wondering if I could work anything out with that. Thanks for reading.

  • @Extrio Nope. You dont need a mixer. You can hook it up directly from you laptop/pc soundcard to the amp.

  • Can you hook an ipod up to the module?

  • @jhirk89 yes. you can. (It does have an aux in for CDs or ipods to jam/practiced with. love that feature.)

  • @Felipe93a SAME HERE bud. I understand drum mapping but I am also having a hard time mapping my drum set properly to the EZ Drummer. My kick is also a snare and so on.... Pain in the ass. I will figure it out and let ALL OF YOU KNOW how to map it correctly in Acid 7 AND Cubase or Nuendo.

  • hi there,

    thanks for the video,

i was wondering if you could PM me the same details please as I'm dying to get my dtxplorer working with my EZdrummer pluggin!

  • Hey back again

ok so im gonna go buy the midi to usb converter today (the same one you have) and i have ezdrummer and dfh expansion and im getting sony acid pro soon so besically i use the base program as sony acid pro and then open ezdrummer in it right?

i still havent got the jist of how to run ezdrummer because i tried installing it alone but it dint work so now im trying to install it with sony acid pro

    help please?

  • oh and one more thing haha

you know how you mentioned that you have a 3 zone snare ....would that work with the dtxplorer kit and module alone and if yes how?

  • Yes. DTXplorer module is compatible with 3-Zone snares, but it does not come with one. (You will have to buy it separately - Yamaha TP65S pad)

  • i have one question..i have the exact same drum kit and i wanted to know if i actually needed all this equipment to trigger the ez drummer with my kit? or is that just what youve done?i really want to connect it with ezdrummer but i need help ...thanks

  • You will need 2 things. (These can come in one package)

    1. MIDI interface.

    2. Sound card.

Most expensive soundcards come with a MIDI interface, but I needed a mobile USB soundcard, I opted for M-Auido Transit soundcard, which doesnot come with a MIDI interface.

  • If I get a cheap little $20 sound card, will it reduce latency still? I have about 1GB RAM

  • As long as it supports ASIO drivers, you should be fine. (You may also want to read the reviews before you buy). Good luck.

  • What are ASIO drivers?

  • @drummertristan1997 I tried at least 2 dozen soundcards over time trying to find the best + lowest latency. Right now, i settled on the MOTU Mk3 and it is amazing.. Also about $1G, but worth it... To answer your question, I would NOT rely on a $20 sound card AT ALL. Even with the ASIO driver, you WILL still have a latency problem as there WILL be a limit on how low you can go with buffers. Spend a little more and you'll be OK. BUT YOU WILL ABSOLUTELY NEED ASIO DRIVER 4 Sure 4 low latency!

  • i Also Have the same Setup as u .But When i hit certain Pads the wrong sounds come out, I was wondering if u could explain how to map the pads to the Specific sounds

  • Pete...i did not mention how i mapped it due to time limit. Assuming you have the DTX plorer, you will need to perform an extra step. You will need to download the "eDrum MIDI Mapper" software and map according to either EZDrummer or DFH expansion. I have PM'd you the details on how to set it up.

Hopefully it will help you. Let me know if you need more information. Would be glad to help you.

    Happy drumming.

  • Could you PM me those details?

i'm stuck with the same problem

    Thanks

  • @sonnetg Could you PM me the details about mapping too? Thanks in advance...
