The fight was really close and hard to judge. It could have gone either way. If you're a Pac fan you're gonna give the close rounds to Pac and if you're a Marquez fan, you will give it to Marquez. To me, the rounds that Marquez definitely won were only 5~8. First 4 rounds were very competitive, and after 8 rounds, Marquez slowed down a bit, although I think he took the round 12. Overall, the judgment that Manny won by 1~2 rounds is a fair judge. The most important question is, If he struggles against a counter puncher with mediocre speed, how is he going to fight against mayweather, who is superior to Marquez in counter punch technique, speeds, and defense??

To me, the rounds that Marquez definitely won were only 5~8. First 4 rounds were very competitive, and after 8 rounds, Marquez slowed down a bit, although I think he took the round 12. Overall, the judgment that Manny won by 1~2 rounds is a fair judge. The most important question is, If he struggles against a counter puncher with mediocre speed, how is he going to fight against mayweather, who is superior to Marquez in counter punch technique, speeds, and defense??

It may look like he was landing more punches but the tricky part here is he was on the defensive, luring Pacquiao into his tactical traps (remember the challenger must be the one who is aggressive to be awarded 10 ). So even if Marquez did connect more punches, he gets only 9 for being defensive and Manny gets the 10 for being the attacker.
Pacquiao got more "10"s than Marquez. Manny wins.

the referee was suppose to be on top of that. Second, the reason why pacquiao got a bad cut in the eye, was because marquez purposly hit pacquiao in the head with his head saying that he punched and cut pacquiao's eyebrow. Marquez tried to kill pacquiao by punching him in the throat, but pacquiao blocked his punch by putting his head down. That's how he got a bad cut in his lip. The problem here is that you have to fighters who studied the hell out of each other and know each others flaws and strengths. This is why it was hard for them to really have a without a doubt clear winner. I think the decision should have been a draw but of course it wouldn't look good for pac man especially with trying to get a Mayweather fight. @usaloverdude like i said punch stats dont tell the story of the fight jmm was counter punching manny all night. look at the end of the fight jmm put his hands up and manny walked away with his head down. we can say wat we want about the but we cant change the decision of the fight. but the people know who won that fight. btw wasnt pacman suppose to ko marquez in 3 rounds the fact that he went the distance in a close fight jmm who is a 38 lightweight says alot.
