Help PLEASE!!! I didn't realize this wasn't for the iphone 4S :-[ At first it seemed to work, then the phone just froze up.  It will only show the apple or the swirle thing in a stuck position? @crazydrumminfool try updating your itunes to the latest version, that usually works. if it doesnt, try updating your phone AND itunes to 4.3.3 and then rejailbreak and try it

Just did it with 4.3.1 and it worked fine. I did get a text from AT&T a few days ago when I was using this on my old phone/firmware that asked "Did you know tethering your phone to your computer requires a tethering plan?" This was before I did all the updates though so we will see if I still get bothered with those text.

@5abivt try these things: 1 - make sure you have itunes installed/it is up to date. 2 - restart your computer. 3 - open itunes when the phone is plugged in and see if it recognizes it. if it doesn't, you may need to uninstall/reinstall itunes.

@kingmomoney4393 yes, but ONLY if you jailbreak and install a tethering settings mod. i dont have an older iphone, so i can't demonstrate for you :( but try googling or searching it on youtube! what you could do though, that may be easier, is to jailbreak and install mywi. its $20 but you can easily find a cracked version for free by searching it on google or youtube. hope this helps!

@mluisis1 no - just select that apple device as your internet device. ** make sure that your iphone is plugged into the computer via usb BEFORE you turn on tethering or the blue bar will not show up - even if you plug it in afterwards. try plugging in the iphone first and see if that works. hope that helps!
