You shouldn't compare animal instinct to human reaction, they are two totally different things. Monkeys can't "love", "hope", anything like that. The are geared for survival of the species, which is how nature programmed them. A baby monkey stands a less than 40% chance of survival. Look up "Disable Monkey" and see the after effect of a monkey fight.

A monkey does not "love" her baby. She will throw it at a predator to save her self. Now that's good sense because she can have more babies. I have seen a vervet baby pulled in 2 by a male and female. He wanted it dead, and she just wanted it. They killed it because neither was smart to let go. No emotion.
