  • This could be my favorite Jack Straw on youtube.

  • @wharfrat10 yeah

  • really NOTHING BETTER than an inspired Jerry!

  • this song makes me long for summer... and bama summers are brutal

  • this song makes me long for summer

  • the clouds part and a beam of clear light reminds us of what may yet be

  • Whenever somebody blows a line... expect Jerry "shredding" afterward. Some of the best songs I've heard were "after" somebody messes up ! Espepicially if Jerry is the culprit... WOW. I like 89's, but there are some unbelieveable 94's (whereby this time Welnick wasn't all overdoing it harmonizing department like he does here). This is a great Jack Straw (musically) but you Jerry's vokice is a little on the weak side tonight and Welnick's vocals are intrusive. Excellent Jack Straw though.

  • Holy shit. The boy's are on point

  • Holy shit. The boy's are on point

  • I have not seen any playing in the 90's that was that inspired. Wow. +1

  • @axwell21 There is much more of it out there than many would have you believe. Happy hunting!

  • Nice solo by Garcia but for 1991-1995 nothing comes close to the Jack Straw from Eugene 8.22.93. Nothing.

  • very nice the heat was intense in the parking lot but the show was great

  • @jonathan13holland - There is a plethora of incredible Jack Straws - I will check out that Eugene one --- 4 sure - this is a sick tune all around :)

  • @jonathan13holland - There is a plethora of incredible Jack Straws - I will check out that Eugene one --- 4 sure - this is a sick tune all around :) This one doesn't suck -

  • Jerry does a fuckin great job- - but the big man was gettin too high thru this tour

  • I ALSO WAS THERE THAT NIGHT- lsd and the dean dome do not a good match make! great show althought i was very confused and the universe started spinning....

  • lol@ bobby blowing that verse.....awesome effing version though!!!!

  • aint that heaven sent

  • never forget this show last time i saw garcia alive

  • @donpoontheman last time i saw Jerry was in 95 tampa

  • I was there. Energy was killer. I remember looking down at the floor all freaking out at hyper speed at the end. GDTRFB and LSD that night. Very cool indeed.

  • We play for life...

  • fantastic!

  • The start of the Jerry "Death Rattle" Tours - Enjoy.

  • Only a real fan would know when to pan between Bob and Jerry and back to Bob...very endearing

  • thanks for this...just like a private guit lesson from jer',,,..3:50

  • I still get goosebumps when I see Jerry get energized by the music. Most fun.

  • the bus came by and i got on thats all when it all began!!!! thankyou! god i sure do miss those days!!!

  • it was my first show amazing to say the least

  • For a 93 show , Garicia shows alot of grit here, I just love the way this man plays guitar.!!!

  • I think it's fair to say that spring of '93 was their last really good tour....Check out the first set from the final night at Nassau in '93..Black Throated, Music, Deal were amazing!!!

  • holy fuck jerry just KILLS it at the end. They're all on point

  • OMG! best jack straw i've heard!!! greetings from poland everybody!!!

  • The 2 shows at the Dean Dome that year were fantastic. The second ever Lucy In The Sky. I had a wonderful time at these shows, thank you for sharing!

  • great thanks for post,

    Karma Yoga

  • This solo gives me chills.

  • jerry shreds this shit at the end!! long live the fat man

  • JS Cornell 77 Shoreline Sept 17 , 94 on GDH 317 The Other ones in Philly in 1998 . I was there and taped it . Balls out , gorgeous version I d love to see a fan video of march 11 93 , Rosemont IL Thats one of my favourite gd performances . The best Help>slip>F . The entire show should be a vault release by the Dead , but a matrix mix , as the SBD sounds very cold & brittle . But a good audience tape sounds like heaven

  • there is also a killer Jack from Eugene in 93...Bobby was having trouble with his equipment mid jam and Jerry just ripped solos off left right and centre for a good 5 minutes before the final verse. check it out if you can.

  • I have that Eugene '93 Jack Straw on tape. I noticed that the jam seemed much, much longer than usual.

  • I was on the floor at that Eugene Show... Weir's rig crapped out and Garcia just unloaded while Bobby tried to straighten things out. That's still the most extended Jack Straw I've heard

  • Is that the show where Bobby went apeshit on his pink guitar and tried to smash it?

  • @levitatingyogi I got that tape.....Jerry shreds it!!!

  • @levitatingyogi I was at that show and you are so right, words cannot describe the feeling that was washing over the crowd when Bobby left the stage. Jerry just absolutely took control, the ring leader, Captain Trips, and Bob was gone for a bit, Jerry just kept lifting up his guitar and signaling for the boys to try to keep up. As soon as Bobby walked back on stage with a new guitar, plugged in, turned around, Jerry slipped the rip and they thundered; "JACK STRAW FROM WITCHITA......!!"

  • This is nice, but my favourite Jack Straw is January 22nd 1978.

  • 1/22/78 is just a bad ass show all the way. Too bad the sounboards don't exist.

  • I agree , the solo is great . 93 was a really crisp year for their music . I remember acquiring this from a friend in spring 94 . What a show . JS from Bonner springs KS 91 is a great one too . Thanks for posting this shipofthesun

  • I was at Bonner Springs 91. Amazing show. crazy little venue

  • fucking awesome Jack Straw!!! i was there and remember it to this day. i'm from Kansas - North Carolina and Kansas were in the NCAA tournament at the same time this tour was happening - Chapel Hill was CRAZY!!! the UNC was AWESOME (and being a KU nut i know a good college campus when i see it)... thanks for posting this...

  • 11-5-77 is an awesome Straw, too....

  • WOW Jerry that was a hot one, man!!!!

Way to save the Jack Straw trainwreck!

    Man that solo was amazing!

  • Amazing! thank you! They just rule :)

  • maybe one of the best Jack Straw solos I've ever run across............

  • uhhhm,, you need to listen to more Jack Straw solos...12/12/92 shreds this one

  • I've heard and witnessed many...........try Cornell '74. Great "Dancin'" too, and I'm not a huge fan of this song.

    I'll look for the 12/12/92 show.thanks.

  • These shows were badass!
