First, Watson wins on Jeopardy. That should be enough to tell you he's ready to be the next Colossus. Think of all the cool stuff He can do right now: manage our Banks, falsely boost our economy by creating jobs, force Corporations into Bankruptcy and allow for takeover, educate our kids by teaching them only what THEY want them to know. And then when Watson DOES take over, ...WATCH OUT!!
Memo to future computer designers: When you come up with AI don't give it physical access to anythng but a moniter. P.S. Forbin and his Russian counterpart really, realy dumb. The damn things didn't run for 24 hours before taking over.
does anyone remember the 80's movie 'Wargames' with a very young Mathew Broderick? this story is very similar, big computer replaces humans overseeing nuclear arsenal, realises no one will win in event of war blah blah balh?
This is a bit like the Terminator films and Colossus reminds me of the Skynet in the Treminator films except in this film there is not the action. But a very good film neverthe less
Films are better without lots of action...too many films of today rely on action and CGI. That doesn't make them very thought-provoking and films such as Colossus have a very important message to us all.
just make them play tic-tac-toe already

i wonder what a similar film made today would be like: with internet communication the plot of this film would be resolved in half the time.

The machine was pouting and refusing to answer them. In effect, let me talk to my buddy or I will punish you.

Yes, but this film preceeded The Terminator films by more than a decade.
