"OK! I'll side swipe him from the side when he's facing the other way, but what if he counters?! I'll jump back and jump behind that garbage can. But WAIT! what if there are two guys! what if that lady standing over there is in on it too?! OK, there's a fire extinguisher on the wall two isles down.. If Only I could get to it?!?...." that's a brief example of the way I think x_x
Curious if anyone else ever does this: I'll be sitting in an assembly or some study session and I drift off in a tangent, quite often i imagine a man running in to the assembly hall through the door right next to me with a bat, bazooka, or some other kind of object that could harm the people around me. Anyways, I basically go through a play by play sequence of what I will do...
I'll worry about weird stuff too that I really shouldn't, like that the universe will suddenly stop existing, or a meteor will strike the earth, or that a nuke will go off. Some huge catastrophic end of the world thing.
Thank you for posting this - it is the first INFJ video I have watched, but as a fellow INFJ it is wonderfully helpful to feel that I'm not alone! Also, you explain why everyone comes up to me and wonders what's wrong all the time, even when I'm very happy!
Also, could you put up a video that describes your relationship with the ENFP? My best friend is an ENFP and I am hopelessly attached to her. I'm hoping that if you describe the relationship better, I will finally find some sort of help. In a nutshell, I'm completely crazy for her and our close friendship puts ideas in my head that more exists between us when she has told me it doesn't.
@bradharless2010 hi sorry for the long wait. we are not as close as we were before. What I came to realize is that while INFJs are deep and look for meaning in relationships, ENFPs for the most part don't. so while you may see depth and hidden meaning in your relationship, she probably doesn't. I think they tend to have shallower relationships than us (not necessarily bad - only bad if the other person sees/wants meaning). Not sure if there's any remedy for your problem :(.
@hockeyloverdb if it makes you feel any better, give it some time and you'll probably get bored of her as you realize she's doesn't have (and is incapable of) the depth that you would like in a close relationship.
I'm actually going for Speech Pathology. I was going to go into med school, but my heart wasn't in it so I changed over. This is a career where I will basically be working with speech disorders and it will allow me to have a job where I work personally with people and treat them mentally and physically. I don't know how this career came to me, but it is simply the right one and I'm blessed to have it as my goal.
I'm INFJ and a Virgo. Still, the questions on the "personality test" definitely need to be re-written. I'm pretty good at stopping conflict, inventing, writing, driving, solving problems, guessing peoples names, guessing exactly how many cigarettes are in a closed pack, my vision is 20/12, i have extremely good hand/eye coordination. I absolutely do not stop looking for a solution until the problem is solved. I actually get more sensitive to my surroundings when drunk (no im not an alcoholic)
@FilmPA1986 I can easily talk to strangers as if I've known them my whole life. My social life has it's high high's and it's lows. I have had enough self confidence to almost go up on a stage and do stand up comedy. I have been so depressed before that I haven't left my house. I've had a few times where I've had a melt down which should be called a melt up. Seeing that everyone is dumb, and extremely slow. I don't know if anyone else has experienced it. When it happens, I feel like CIA content
I am also INFJ and can relate to alot of this.. such as .. saying 'um' ...getting asked what's wrong? is everything ok ? the worrying... and most definitely the contradiction between being introverted and needing to connect with people as well as feeling lonely... Thanks for this video :)
I really feel I need to comment on this worrying thing. As an INFJ I have a crazy Murphy's Law Complex. As a kid, every night before I went to bed I made sure I told my parents I loved them incase they died in the night. I suffered huge paranoia as a kid and of course became more rational as I grew older but I still often worry. Tho in my experience shit often does go wrong which could be a contributing factor, but I have a theory..Continue next comment...
@KazziKolorZz Everyone is always worrying about one thing or another and as sensing types we pick up on it and often take worry on ourselves. Not everyone is always happy or sad etc, but everyone is always worrying about at least one thing making it a very dominate energy for people to give off, then we take it on.
Also career wise, (If you could really call it that cos I'm not making any money from it yet) But I'm a writer, musician, photographer, and artist. I do pretty much EVERYTHING..
That's funny. I'm INFJ and I used to get "Why are you sad" all the time for the first half of my life. It used to piss me off. lol Also, my best friend is an ENFP too.
o my god, its really weird that we have the same speech mannerism! i tend to think in other people perspective, so mine is lost somewhere. do anybody feel the same way????
Still trying to figure out life..lol~ I'm also an artist. I have my AA in Psychology and am thinking of going back for my Bachelors. I'm stuck trying to figure it out. I been talking about working toward being an Art Therapist for some time... but have been going back and forth on it. I was also interested in going to Bastyer University in WA for Health Psychology.. I love how the school is alternative views on life and holistic.
Wow! I am an INFJ and it's really amazing how everything that you talked about really applied to me! I am an 18 year old girl in college..so your experiences are especially similar. As for INFJ careers, I have seriously considered being an actress or musician, but I am currently a Psych major in college. I like Psych because we are studying people's emotion and I am getting in touch with my 'F' but then again I love being artsy with acting and music :)
Totally loved the video and I especially enjoyed the part you said that we see stuff that people don't see. I am an INFJ but a lot of people see me as an extrovert because I actually love interacting with people than staying at home although some times I am not really up for it. I don't really look as sad myself and most people I know see me as being cheerful most of the time and I am actually the goofy type. It wasn't always that way I have to say though. Very insightful video. Loved it!!!
ENFP's drive me absolutely crazy in the best way possible. They appeal to my sense of adventure and my philosophical quandries. I'm a minority however, being that I am a male INFJ. This video was very enlightening.
I think it's cool you've posted. As an INFJ, I thoroughly enjoyed hearing a like mind. Thanks for taking the risk to share. I really relate. You're a sweetie.
I saw your previous video and I wanted to tell you something. I am an INTJ and though INTJs may seem to be arrogant, and sometimes they really be, but they are very much like INFJs . We don't really feel a lot, but we (atleast the mature ones :D) know the importance of feeling. I think we are quite similar. :)
@SENITEL1 this is probably true :). I just think that I get annoyed when people don't recognize the importance of Feeling - INTJs tend to be arrogant and flaunt their "T-ness." Kind of like, Thinking is "better" than Feeling in that it's more logical and to them, it makes more "sense." I think I just get annoyed by this lol.
@hockeyloverdb The INTJs, who don't recognise the importance of feeling are the most foolish of all INTJs! :D Infact in my opinion, they aren't really true INTJs, because a good INTJ knows his/her weakness. :)
@hockeyloverdb Feeling is definitely more important than thinking. As an INFJ who is struggling to beat existential depression, I have come to realize that you can do all the thinking in the world but it means nothing if you are incapable of feeling (love, hate, joy, sorrow, etc.). An intellectual with a cold soul is only valuable to him or herself.
One thing i've noticed about all these INFJ videos is how smart the intuitive function makes us... It's cool to see the Ti side of INFJ's because once that comes out, we can behave and think like the Rationals and be not only insightful but just very intelligent. I have also found that writing things helps me a lot because as much I try not to say um, there are still moments where I feel like I want to or where I just pause. We are not people to "think aloud" like some types.
In response to the "do for a living" question posed at the end of the video, I'm a computer programmer. I don't necessarily recommend it tremendously to other INFJs, in that at work you'll be surrounded by people who have a below-average sense of deep emotion. But it's interesting, and for any kind of introvert, it gives you a bit of freedom to be alone.
hmm... good question lol. well you could go by each individual trait. are they introverted or extroverted? this can be tricky bc INFJs may seem like extroverts when they're not. NF can go together - are they emotional? do they "feel a lot?" do they trust their emotions and instinct? do they have a deep inner, emotional life? this can also be tricky bc many INFJs are very private about their emotions. And J - do they like order, routine, planning? we like planning things!
We have the same motto. I'm an infj as well and I get asked whats wrong whenever I'm not smiling so I usually keep one on at all times. I'm still young but I plan on being an author. By the way you do have down turned eyes.
you also sound quite pained. replay certain points like 6:58 you'd think you're wimpering/crying. but all NFs seem to sound like that especially INFJs on youtube.
@maxgunn555 I think I was super nervous. this video makes me seem emotionless and/or constantly sad when in reality I'm quite animated. in real life, I almost never look or speak like that (thankfully!). so I guess in terms of that, this video isn't good to go by! (I just realized, I am writing this comment from my husband's acct).
@hockeyloverdb oh thats cool i'd be pretty nervous iguess if i spoke about my personality on youtube. it's like analysing and declaringyourself to the world. thats cool. you didnt come across as nervous though - ya hid it well :)
im 15, just taken the test a couple of times. im still not quilt sure if im an infj yet, but the worring thing is like me..ALOT and the looking sad. its really interesting me atm and im tring to find out more. thank you for the video (:
Thanks so much for this. You're obviously really intelligent and brought up so many good points. I was thinking about the "contradiction' you mentioned that seems so much a part of our natures. I believe people like us have an instinctive need to withdraw from society at times in order we to better understand how our experiences have defined and shaped us. We can't just have an experience and leave it at that - we need to understand what it did to us.
And the contradiction part that you mentioned about INFJ's needing time alone and then also needing human interaction is a huge part that I believe others don't understand about us. I often end up feeling guilty if others want to go out and I'm just not up for it and would prefer staying in. But it's who we are and frankly, I'm not gonna make myself do something I don't feel like doing. :)
:D It's so nice to know that there are others like me in this world. I also tend to overthink things. I worry a lot about things that I feel are going to happen. And this usually happens when I stay in my room and don't feel like going out and socializing...I get paranoid. I drive myself crazy. :P So when this happens, I usually push myself to go out and socialize with others so that reality can kick in and what I thought was all in my imagination and not real.
@druglover200 just saw this and the one below - thank you! you're a very kind person too! the one I filmed (at my college - I helped with research and caring for them) was a little sassy pants and I thought him all wet was really funny lol
As a 46 year old female INFJ I can relate to everything you said. The difference is that as you age you don't make yourself go out. You enjoy staying home and just accept that part of yourself. :)
@druglover200 read the descriptions for both and whichever one you think you are, then you are! INFPs and INFJs are pretty different - INFPs are usually more artsy. do you draw or paint? For me, I wish so badly that I could draw like some of my friends. I have the creativity for it, but I just can't. I'm so bad. INFPs are more dreamy as well. do you find satisfaction in daydreaming about sth you want to do, or do you find satisfaction in actually doing the thing?
@hockeyloverdb Well its hard ive delt with very very bad depression all my life from mourning a lot of relatives. So really i dont know for sure no i dont draw i used too i was actually6 pretty good at one time. i can be artsy if i want. It seems like when im unmotivated i get INFP when i want to improve and get things rolling with my life i could test as INFJ. ALso my thinking and feeling are almost at 50 50 i think. Just wish i could relieve this depression so i can know my true self.
@druglover200 well sometimes we're not completely one or the other! my mom has that problem - she tests I sometimes and E other times. ever consider that depression is part of your true self? I think lots of INFJs and INFPs struggle with depression, but it doesn't have to be an "illness" like society tells you it is. it's difficult, but try to see it as part of yourself, and not a separate entity. I've found depression doesn't go away, no matter what. Get a good job, get good grades, get a bf...
@druglover200 ALSO I was creepin on your youtube page thing and saw you commented on some INFP vids asking "what's so special about being sensitive." I will inform you. Sensitivity allows you to notice subtleties in emotions, humor, nature, life. you notice beauty in moments that most other people don't because they need everything to be so damn obvious and in your face. Sensitivity is like knowledge - it can be really difficult to deal with, but it's better to have it than to lack it.
@hockeyloverdb ...get married, doesn't matter. It's still there. it's part of who you are - instead of fighting it, accept it and use it. Lots of creative people (artists, musicians, writers) have depression. It can be really crippling or it can help. I found strengths in my depression (eg heightened concentration). Look beyond the bad and don't think of it as an illness. try to see the good so you can use it and accept it. it's the only way to overcome it.
Surprisingly articulate in front of the camera. I guess u went trough it a lot in your head before recording and also had some notes you seem to look to from time to time.
I do network administration on a small company network but i'm starting to realize now there are other carrier options i've never considered before such as people management...
Ha! I had a random guy come up to me one day and tell me " Jesus loves you don't be sad". I appreciated the gesture, but i wasn't sad. Afterwards i was, because he made me question if i was sad :p Anyways... Great Video!! Keep them coming!!!
@Felisha23luv I think so too. I mean I took that video liiiike a million times. ok maybe more like 10, and that's the best I could do as far as cutting down on the "ums"! perhaps it's because I'm not used to and don't like being the focus. I don't like being the focus and maybe that made me nervous. though I can public speak fine, and I know plenty of INFJs who can and like public speaking. weird!
I'm majoring in theatre arts/english. Just about everything you said matches with my experiences, especially the comments about being sad. I even received an Irish Blessing magnet from my old boss which reads "May you have a full moon on a dark night."
I am not really sure if I am an infj I took the test in school and thats what I came out as my best friend at the time thought it was totally me , I do posses a lot of the things you were talking about worrying all the time about everything , feeling no one else thinks the way I do and people often think I am angrey or sad when I am really not they also think I am some what of a loner which I dont mind too much , I also got the nick name "smiley" . But just wondering how can I be sure ?
I completely relate to this. I'm an INFJ and often get told i look bored or sad, generally by people that don't know me and it usually freaks me out cos i'm quite a content person but on the flipside people that do know me always think i'm in a good mood and even gave me the nickname of "Smiley".
I have ISFP preferences. I get asked if I'm sad a lot too, when I am simply daydreaming. I'm about to stay with an INTJ for a week, which is going to interesting :)
Okay I'm guessing someone has probably already mentioned this but just in case they haven't...have you heard of the enneagram personality theory? Do you know what enneagram you are? My mother is an INFJ enneagram 6 and she worries a lot too....about everything.
I find it so strange that you say that you get along so well with ENFPs. That is like my magnet too. I have two or three ENFP friends and they make me feel so great to be alive.
Interesting. As an INFJ myself, I notice that there seems to be a common denominator between us all. Every INFJ I've seen on these youtube videos is a more serious type.
Thank you for creating this video! I am the same, I worry that I'm going to fail a class, before I start, but in reality I wind up making an A. ... I thought I was an INFP but after watching your video, and looking at the test questions, I really am an INFJ. I'm a very judgemental person, though I feel like I want to help them, but I often have little interest in their execuses, and more on the situation and how things can be improved.
You just described me perfectly. I've taken the test six times, twice I got INTJ and four times I got INFJ. I feel that I have some INTJ traits, but I am definitely an INFJ. I do think, but I have very strong feelings. Do you think it's possible to evolve your personality and be able to control yourself? I feel that in certain situations I am INTJ, but my true self is INFJ. I don't want to appear weak and when people try to use me I switch to INTJ. Does htis make sense to you at all?
Hi there! I was under the impression that INFJs and INFPs can have difficulty being in a relationship (friend or romantic). I could be wrong about that though. I was just wondering what is it about INFPs that you like?
It was so wonderful to view your video. I am currently unsure of my type, but have tested mainly as an INFJ. At times I have felt very sure of my type to be INFJ, and at other times, have found myself questioning it. I thought I would post this about myself as I made this connection while watching your video and listening to so many of your points that spoke very truly to me about how I present myself and also with how I feel. I feel more assured of being INFJ after viewing your video. TY!
I am obsessed with learning more about myself - I guess that comes with being an INFJ too. I don't have any real close friends - just one with whom I talk over the phone. I feel that no one really understands me.
@Wierdgirl5834 oh my god. me too. i'm also an infj, and i just want to learn more & more about myself. i always like to listen about my childhood stories, and research weird things i do & what the meanings are...which lead me to find out i am an infj! haha. i also only have one or two close friends, i feel so alone knowing there's only 1% of the people like us :/
As an INFJ; we are as rare and beautiful. We should embrace our beauty as exotic, It becomes more difficult the more we think about it. Slightly lower the shell and let go. We can't be scared . Let go. I am scared of today: don;t let it control your tommorow.
i think infj's are too concerned with small details and little things that dont really matter. know yourself, and then look at the big picture. see how you can use your incredible infj skills to benefit others. carry a positive attitude, an open mind, and open heart, and you will be the most SUCCESSFUL INFJ EVER!!!
I'm an INFJ too. Though I tend to be thought of as weak and childish more than sad. This might be because I'm a man and this is considered a traditionally "feminine" personality. SO that can work against me. The other thing is that I'm often thought of as being an extrovert when I'm really not. I think this is because I have a warm personality, but I can also be really gentle and often need time alone. I don't ever feel like I fit well into any area. Btw, I was studying to be a singer.
@eeli1 People often think I'm sad or upset. I'm really not. I always wondered why so many people thought that! I've often been thought of as an extrovert too. I have to say that over time I've made myself become more extroverted, but still really want that time alone! I don't feel often like I fit into any areas as well!.
I'm an INFJ guy and frequently get told I look sad. I find it hilarious! Funniest time was at Christmas about seven years ago when a couple of drunk strangers standing outside a pub started shouting at me to "cheer the f**k up" when I was just walking past minding my own business :)
I'd love to know what kind of personality types think shouting abuse at someone will make them happy...
I've always been fascinated by INFJs, they seem mysterous, very deep and creative yet never have many opportunities to exploit or express those qualities. Thanks to INFJs for working up the courage to make YouTube vids. Btw I'm not Infj, but ENTP.
Soo good to listen too. I love coming to understand INFJs better! I don't know many, but it is wonderful to know what is going on when I do interact with them. :)
thanks for sharing. I am 34 year old, INFJ male. I teach 4th grade and am an aspiring administrator. I have never looked into the physical aspects of the INFJ, and this is the first time I have heard about a connection to sad physical features... very interesting!
@jackooboy1 I think that NTs, like you said, have emotions and all that, I feel like you guys are "colder." or seem emotionless. though INFJs have the same problem where people may think we're cold because we're more closed off, whereas people may think you guys are cold because you don't let your emotions show as much. I have that problem with T's in general. We can and do show our emotions, but you guys never seem to want show them at all. it takes a lot more for you guys to show them.
I don't think an emotional display from me would add anything to the conversation; therefore I don't do it. This is probably mostly due to introversion though.
Also, I think "let your emotions show" isn't really the issue, it is more about actively engaging in an exchange with emotions as the subject or reason. For instance, I can easily draw a parallel to my ESFP friend who would rant about the same stuff I do but with entirely different arguments; she would describe how that conflicted with her standards while I would point out its inconsistencies.
INFJs are still a mystery to me. They're fascinating and I don't get or get to them at all.
@hockeyloverdb Let's not stereotype based on a useless dichotomy. If you have done your research, you should have realized that this test really means nothing, because the questions are worthless. What DOES matter are the cognitive functions you consciously use and the order in which you use them. \
@hockeyloverdb Anyway, I was mistyped for over a year as an INTP until a person knowledgeable in the field typed me as INFJ. I think part of the reason that had occurred is because I had several traits of an INTP, namely emotional detachment and intense logical thinking, which I think comes from a highly advanced Ti (tertiary function) and somewhat suppressed Fe (auxiliary function).
@hockeyloverdb So, aside from Ni (dominant trait), I pretty much am an INTP, since Ti is an INTP's dominant and Fe is an INTP's inferior. I had considered more accurate to consider myself INTJ as well, but that is not the case, since I use Ti and Fe, not Te and Fi. I am just an INFJ with a developed Ti.
Um... real tangent there. Anyway... yeah, maybe it is typical for T's to emotionally "close off," but F's might do that as well. The dichotomies really don't mean much.
I am an INFJ- pottery instructor... I tried teaching 9th grade English and it didn't work out. Now I create art and music, while helping special needs children. I find this rewarding.
Also, I think INFJs are soul searchers and tend to be more curious about their type than other types. INFJs often seem self absorbed to other types. We are a little bit.... perpetually in an identity crisis.
I'd love to be a psychologist and a novelist someday, so yeah, I'm a pretty typical INFJ when it comes to interests and career choices. Psychology fascinates INFJs a lot because they tell us what are the reasons and thought processes behind other people's actions, and, being INFJs, that's what we strive to know. =)
As for being a novelist, I realize that all the things I write or plan to write in the future have to do with relationships.

I am an INFJ male and I am currently a Math Tutor. I really want to be a game designer and kind of be the "coach" of the team because I love pushing people to be the best they can be. I loved your thoughts and I think this video has many great thoughts about INFJs.
Love your video! The more I listen to other INFJs, the more fascinated I am, because I'm not used to hearing people that are so much like myself (or who even remotely understand how I think/feel/operate). Thanks for sharing!
ps: I am a writer and director of a nonprofit org
pps: the eye color thing you mention below, I'm wondering if any other INFJs have experienced this or not: born with brown, at 15 they changed to hazel which fluctuates between gold/amber/green. thx!
i love these videos. I've been interested in all the types. Oh I should mention, I'm an estp. You reming me of my mother sort of. She's an intp. My mom is so pessimistic too! Or more like gloomy!!
My mother, a good friend of mine, and my roomate are all INFJ`s. Sometimes I have a very difficult time understanding them but perhaps that is because I am an ISTJ male. Even so they fascinate me because they are so complex. Out of all the types I have encountered INFJ`s are one of my most favorite types to be around.
My sister's an INFJ and I have been researching a lot of information on it. I am an INTP and often her and I clash when it comes to in depth conversations. We don't connect on how we deal with things. The good thing is the more I read up on our personalities the more it helps me understand her.
What I always noticed is that even though she is introverted she gravitates towards people and has a better understanding of them than I do. I used to mistake her for extroverted because of that.
i happen to keep getting INFJ result from any type of psychological screening!! somehow i empathise with other INFJ and their perspectives too . it was nice to see your video!
wow very weird how you just described me when you were describing yourself. that thing about people at work is all me. also the thing about getting in ruts where u get extra introverted and thinking about car accidents and stuff. CRAZY. I just found out i'm INFJ positive (haha). Its cool knowing theres people like me out there cuz most the people I meet dont think at the same level as i do.
I am a 15 year old INFJ (I made an INFJ video too).
With the worrying about things (fires, car crashes, ect), I also have done that ever since I can remember. Right now I worry more about other things though.
I am a 20 year old INFJ male and found this video really interesting.
I have strong interests in pshychology but didn't continue it after college.
I am currently on my second year out of four studying animation, its good but I find myself worrying about the future as to what I'm to do when I leave uni, I keep reminding myself to try and live in the present! and I like your saying 'things aren't as bad as you think they're going to be' :)
Since you asked, I'm an INFJ and I work as a high school counselor. I was drawn to that career as early as middle school, then discovered my MBTI type while in college.
I don't go to Psych but management, I like it and do very well at BU. The 'N' really help me on understanding the concept real fast. I am attracted to psychology course too.
To fight loneliness and keep me connected to the BU Campus life, I joined The Bucknellian as a photographer and layout guy.
Photography really great for me because I still able to go and be part of the events and in the same time I can have some space own my own. - to be continued..
Oopss. the my first comment disappear. hehe. I just said that I was a Bucknellian too, graduate last year (2009). I am surprise to see your video and see some similarities, especially in social life.
It is even worse because am an 28 years old when i got th BU and i am an international students. But on the other hand, it is fine because I like to be alone too!
i've known im an infj for a couple years now. I would think it interesting to be so unique but after a while i clearly could see that it wasnt that great. i just moved across the country to go to a college for art. all through middle school and high school i studied art and ive felt that my whole life is severely focused. i also wanted to mention that i am male and i find it extra hard to connect with other males because of my sensitivity. 2 best friends too same personalities as yours O.o
I'm an INFJ male and everything you said is very true. I have had people ask me if I was alright or "are you okay?" my entire life lol. I'm 20 also and I can relate to what you are saying. We share a lot of facial features, i can easily recognize them, and yes you do have the downward facing eyes, we all do lol. Thanks for putting up the video and informing people about the uniqueness that is INFJ.
have you guys ever noticed that when you specialized in something you do, you are better than almost anybody else! If not, I think it's the case for me!
Ahh - when you verbally say dialogue in conversation its the same way! That's so refreshing. I'm an INFJ too (obviously based on my last statement) and I'm currently a student but I'm working toward my teacher certification. Thanks for posting!! It's like therapy!!
really pointless o.O. It's actually going to take a while to explain, so I'll stop here. I guess it's kind of pathetic that I have no real dreams/goals because I think that love doesn't exist, and I should probably use my talents to contribute to society, but blahhhhhhhh. Anyways, I think you're adorable and beautiful.
well that's depressing lol. but thanks. I'll tell you though that it DOES exist, it just takes a while. or you get really lucky. it does though. I see that you're a junior in HS, you've still got time buddy!!
in addition, lots of people don't know what they want to do, don't have dreams or goals. that doesn't mean your life is "pointless." like I said, you're only, what, 16? you got plenty of time to figure things out!
This video really comforted me ^_^. I can tell what a nice person you are. I'm a junior in high school right now, and although I have maintained an excellent GPA for no other reason than that I thought that in the future, I might come to some kind of realization and find use of it, I actually don't really care about the future right now >_>. This is because of being disappointed by a certain guy, thinking that the kind of "love" I imagine doesn't actually exist, and how I think life is
Very interesting video. I am a 21 year old INFJ female majoring in Social Work. I am so passionate about helping people and I am so emotional its scary. Your video really made me feel a lot better about some of my different traits and all that. =) I am so glad that there is a way for us INFJ's to be able to connect. :) Everyone ALWAYS thinks I am sad too and people just don't understand my need for wanting to be alone sometimes.
Oh my gosh, I completely relate with the "looking sad" thing! I'm an INFJ guy, and often, when I space out, people come up to me and ask why I'm "so sad".
Color of eyes is an interesting observation since we've mostly been discussing shape. I have very deep brown eyes, which stand out because of how dark they are, especially compared with my hair and skin. my boyfriend, who's an INFJ, has very pretty clear blue eyes. maybe it's the color, not the shape, that people find nice.
I don't know any ENTPs, that I know of. I think I have trouble with "T" types, but that's an interesting mix of personalities in family members! haha must be interesting!
Hum. I notice the pattern in expressions throughout diferent types as well (not only in the eyes). Particularly, I'd note that N's tend to have more vague looks.
What I'd like to know is how your friend-making process work. Also, when you say you don't relate too well to T types, Would those be TPs or TJs?
@HotKebab hehe... by the way im an INFJ and many people have told me that i have pretty....um.... well some girls say that their gorgeous (my eyes), but id be kinda weird to say that they are... so yeah. you might be right. :)
I am a uni student majoring in English and I plan to get a certificate to Teach english as a second language. I figured this is a good way for me to travel and teach ppl and learn a few languages! I love learning languages!
Thanks so much for this video! I am a 24 yr old Female INFJ and I work with children. This is like a breath of fresh air to know their is a community out there to support and relate to one another. Good Job.

In a nutshell, I'm completely crazy for her and our close friendship puts ideas in my head that more exists between us when she has told me it doesn't.
bradharless2010 1 month ago
@bradharless2010 hi sorry for the long wait. we are not as close as we were before. What I came to realize is that while INFJs are deep and look for meaning in relationships, ENFPs for the most part don't. so while you may see depth and hidden meaning in your relationship, she probably doesn't. I think they tend to have shallower relationships than us (not necessarily bad - only bad if the other person sees/wants meaning). Not sure if there's any remedy for your problem :(.
hockeyloverdb 23 hours ago

KazziKolorZz 3 months ago
@KazziKolorZz Everyone is always worrying about one thing or another and as sensing types we pick up on it and often take worry on ourselves. Not everyone is always happy or sad etc, but everyone is always worrying about at least one thing making it a very dominate energy for people to give off, then we take it on.
Also career wise, (If you could really call it that cos I'm not making any money from it yet) But I'm a writer, musician, photographer, and artist. I do pretty much EVERYTHING..

Im happy you found love

Loved it!!!

Hello,
I saw your previous video and I wanted to tell you something. I am an INTJ and though INTJs may seem to be arrogant, and sometimes they really be, but they are very much like INFJs . We don't really feel a lot, but we (atleast the mature ones :D) know the importance of feeling. I think we are quite similar. :)
SENITEL1 7 months ago
@SENITEL1 this is probably true :). I just think that I get annoyed when people don't recognize the importance of Feeling - INTJs tend to be arrogant and flaunt their "T-ness." Kind of like, Thinking is "better" than Feeling in that it's more logical and to them, it makes more "sense." I think I just get annoyed by this lol.
hockeyloverdb 7 months ago 2
@hockeyloverdb The INTJs, who don't recognise the importance of feeling are the most foolish of all INTJs! :D Infact in my opinion, they aren't really true INTJs, because a good INTJ knows his/her weakness. :)
SENITEL1 7 months ago
@hockeyloverdb Feeling is definitely more important than thinking. As an INFJ who is struggling to beat existential depression, I have come to realize that you can do all the thinking in the world but it means nothing if you are incapable of feeling (love, hate, joy, sorrow, etc.). An intellectual with a cold soul is only valuable to him or herself.
BTW, you're really cute.

But it's interesting, and for any kind of introvert, it gives you a bit of freedom to be alone.

bbqxgarden 8 months ago
hmm... good question lol. well you could go by each individual trait. are they introverted or extroverted? this can be tricky bc INFJs may seem like extroverts when they're not. NF can go together - are they emotional? do they "feel a lot?" do they trust their emotions and instinct? do they have a deep inner, emotional life? this can also be tricky bc many INFJs are very private about their emotions. And J - do they like order, routine, planning? we like planning things!
hockeyloverdb 7 months ago
We have the same motto. I'm an infj as well and I get asked whats wrong whenever I'm not smiling so I usually keep one on at all times. I'm still young but I plan on being an author. By the way you do have down turned eyes.

@maxgunn555 I think I was super nervous. this video makes me seem emotionless and/or constantly sad when in reality I'm quite animated. in real life, I almost never look or speak like that (thankfully!). so I guess in terms of that, this video isn't good to go by!
Singularity18 10 months ago
And the contradiction part that you mentioned about INFJ's needing time alone and then also needing human interaction is a huge part that I believe others don't understand about us. I often end up feeling guilty if others want to go out and I'm just not up for it and would prefer staying in. But it's who we are and frankly, I'm not gonna make myself do something I don't feel like doing. :)
MLY27 11 months ago
:D It's so nice to know that there are others like me in this world. I also tend to overthink things. I worry a lot about things that I feel are going to happen. And this usually happens when I stay in my room and don't feel like going out and socializing...I get paranoid. I drive myself crazy. :P So when this happens, I usually push myself to go out and socialize with others so that reality can kick in and what I thought was all in my imagination and not real.

Okay i have a question what should i say i am INFP or INFJ? i scored the same percentage for both.....weird. I usually test as INFP.
druglover200 11 months ago
@druglover200 read the descriptions for both and whichever one you think you are, then you are! INFPs and INFJs are pretty different - INFPs are usually more artsy. do you draw or paint? For me, I wish so badly that I could draw like some of my friends. I have the creativity for it, but I just can't. I'm so bad. INFPs are more dreamy as well. do you find satisfaction in daydreaming about sth you want to do, or do you find satisfaction in actually doing the thing?
hockeyloverdb 11 months ago
@hockeyloverdb Well its hard ive delt with very very bad depression all my life from mourning a lot of relatives. So really i dont know for sure no i dont draw i used too i was actually6 pretty good at one time. i can be artsy if i want. It seems like when im unmotivated i get INFP when i want to improve and get things rolling with my life i could test as INFJ. ALso my thinking and feeling are almost at 50 50 i think. Just wish i could relieve this depression so i can know my true self.
druglover200 11 months ago
@druglover200 well sometimes we're not completely one or the other! my mom has that problem - she tests I sometimes and E other times. ever consider that depression is part of your true self? I think lots of INFJs and INFPs struggle with depression, but it doesn't have to be an "illness" like society tells you it is. it's difficult, but try to see it as part of yourself, and not a separate entity. I've found depression doesn't go away, no matter what. Get a good job, get good grades, get a bf...
hockeyloverdb 11 months ago
@druglover200 PS why is your ID "druglover"? don't do drugs!! drugs won't help - they will only hurt you!!
hockeyloverdb 11 months ago
@druglover200 ALSO I was creepin on your youtube page thing and saw you commented on some INFP vids asking "what's so special about being sensitive." I will inform you. Sensitivity allows you to notice subtleties in emotions, humor, nature, life. you notice beauty in moments that most other people don't because they need everything to be so damn obvious and in your face. Sensitivity is like knowledge - it can be really difficult to deal with, but it's better to have it than to lack it.

@hockeyloverdb Thanks a lot =D you just made my freakin day dude. You're very kind person and i wish you the best.
druglover200 11 months ago
@hockeyloverdb i do day dream a lot . see but a lot of my actions could be brought on by my depression so its hard to pick a preference.
druglover200 11 months ago
@hockeyloverdb ...get married, doesn't matter. It's still there. it's part of who you are - instead of fighting it, accept it and use it. Lots of creative people (artists, musicians, writers) have depression. It can be really crippling or it can help. I found strengths in my depression (eg heightened concentration). Look beyond the bad and don't think of it as an illness. try to see the good so you can use it and accept it. it's the only way to overcome it.

SouthMantis13 1 year ago
I'm an INTP and I think people think we usually look sad and emotionless too... emotions are going on, we just don't wear our emotions on our face.
jackooboy1 1 year ago 9
@jackooboy1 I think that NTs, like you said, have emotions and all that, I feel like you guys are "colder." or seem emotionless. though INFJs have the same problem where people may think we're cold because we're more closed off, whereas people may think you guys are cold because you don't let your emotions show as much. I have that problem with T's in general. We can and do show our emotions, but you guys never seem to want show them at all. it takes a lot more for you guys to show them.
hockeyloverdb 1 year ago
@hockeyloverdb
I don't think an emotional display from me would add anything to the conversation; therefore I don't do it. This is probably mostly due to introversion though.
RafaelEnvoy 1 year ago
Also, I think "let your emotions show" isn't really the issue, it is more about actively engaging in an exchange with emotions as the subject or reason. For instance, I can easily draw a parallel to my ESFP friend who would rant about the same stuff I do but with entirely different arguments; she would describe how that conflicted with her standards while I would point out its inconsistencies.
INFJs are still a mystery to me. They're fascinating and I don't get or get to them at all.
Cheers.
RafaelEnvoy 1 year ago
@hockeyloverdb Let's not stereotype based on a useless dichotomy. If you have done your research, you should have realized that this test really means nothing, because the questions are worthless. What DOES matter are the cognitive functions you consciously use and the order in which you use them. \
xxpbdudexx 1 year ago
@hockeyloverdb Anyway, I was mistyped for over a year as an INTP until a person knowledgeable in the field typed me as INFJ. I think part of the reason that had occurred is because I had several traits of an INTP, namely emotional detachment and intense logical thinking, which I think comes from a highly advanced Ti (tertiary function) and somewhat suppressed Fe (auxiliary function).
xxpbdudexx 1 year ago
@hockeyloverdb So, aside from Ni (dominant trait), I pretty much am an INTP, since Ti is an INTP's dominant and Fe is an INTP's inferior. I had considered more accurate to consider myself INTJ as well, but that is not the case, since I use Ti and Fe, not Te and Fi. I am just an INFJ with a developed Ti.
Um... real tangent there. Anyway... yeah, maybe it is typical for T's to emotionally "close off," but F's might do that as well. The dichotomies really don't mean much.
xxpbdudexx 1 year ago
I am an INFJ- pottery instructor... I tried teaching 9th grade English and it didn't work out. Now I create art and music, while helping special needs children. I find this rewarding.
Also, I think INFJs are soul searchers and tend to be more curious about their type than other types. INFJs often seem self absorbed to other types. We are a little bit.... perpetually in an identity crisis.

Hey there, fellow INFJ. =)

It's said that we as INFJs worry about so many things like that because we are profoundly aware of our own mortality.

TheBigpaman 1 year ago

I feel that being INFJ is great for photography because we can see the connection between people, feel the room atmosphere and anticipate moments.
I currently write a blog about photography and work as freelance photographer in Philly, PA.
I also read and feel that being counselor will be great for INFJ type.
Good luck for your study, Nice to see your video.

Ahh - when you verbally say dialogue in conversation its the same way! That's so refreshing. I'm an INFJ too (obviously based on my last statement) and I'm currently a student but I'm working toward my teacher certification. Thanks for posting!! It's like therapy!!
jenilyn8705 2 years ago
really pointless o.O.
1world1dream 2 years ago
well that's depressing lol. but thanks. I'll tell you though that it DOES exist, it just takes a while. or you get really lucky. it does though. I see that you're a junior in HS, you've still got time buddy!!
hockeyloverdb 2 years ago
in addition, lots of people don't know what they want to do, don't have dreams or goals. that doesn't mean your life is "pointless." like I said, you're only, what, 16? you got plenty of time to figure things out!
hockeyloverdb 2 years ago

Insomniac931 2 years ago
Oh my gosh, I completely relate with the "looking sad" thing! I'm an INFJ guy, and often, when I space out, people come up to me and ask why I'm "so sad".

I'm an ENTP female,
Is it just me or is it that INFJ's have amazing eyes?
I find I can tell an INFJ by their eyes, not by the shape but by the contrast in colours
(I'm an painter btw)
They are also soft/ gentle in voice and facial features.
I love the INFJ's ability to look within people and find problems, often they don't need to say much to show they understand.
I have an older sister that is an INFJ another that is a INTJ and a younger sister that is a INFP.

I think I have trouble with "T" types, but that's an interesting mix of personalities in family members! haha must be interesting!
hockeyloverdb 2 years ago
do you have an infj boyfriend? thats interesting! how is that?
ragnarkisten 2 years ago
@hockeyloverdb
Hum. I notice the pattern in expressions throughout diferent types as well (not only in the eyes). Particularly, I'd note that N's tend to have more vague looks.
What I'd like to know is how your friend-making process work. Also, when you say you don't relate too well to T types, Would those be TPs or TJs?
RafaelEnvoy 1 year ago
@HotKebab hehe... by the way im an INFJ and many people have told me that i have pretty....um.... well some girls say that their gorgeous (my eyes), but id be kinda weird to say that they are... so yeah. you might be right. :)
