No one can replace Bradley. I have been a long time sublime fan and haven't really listened to anything with Rome but I have to say he is not that bad, at all. He's a great performer. As a vocalist this dude Rome is quite terrible. Especially live. The problem is that his vibrato just happens. No control over it whatsoever unlike Brad who did have a pretty nice vibrato and very good control in which a lot of emphasis was placed. Still, I am glad Sublime is out there and if this dude is singing so be it. He does well enough that I can listen to his versions of the songs.
Carry on sublime! Even though you have to be called "Sublime with Rome" now, you are continuing with the "Sublime" sound and that is all that matters!

Their new album is so fucking poppy & gay.The first few songs are ok, but from there on out the album just goes downhill to complete crapdom. Faggy little songs about loving girls or leaving girls, or telling girls to leave, with Jack Johnson-like acoustic chords. It's like Rome spent 5 minutes on his acoustic guitar coming up with some poppy happy song, then Bud and Eric were like "OK, cool, lets just play drums and bass to this and call it Sublime". There is no edginess/punk attitude at all.

Everyone hating on Rome are late comers who don't know shit about sublime. I miss Bradley and always think about what could have been. Rome is keeping Bradley alive through his music. Artists come and go, sadly too soon. I'm not done with sublime yet so as a fan I love that Rome keeps the music going! Haters gonna hate! Hipsters should read a book before talking shit!

@timandshannon03 the thing is, Brad was gthe spirit of the band. A guy can sing a note like another guy, but he can't replicate his heart and his soul man. Kinda like when Tim "Ripper" Owens found himself singing for Judas Priest, but it just wasn't the same as having Rob on the microphone.

@pentumplementgum I dunno man. I think as long as you got your own heart as soul it doesn't matter who's notes or lyrics you're singing, you're beltin' it and you're doing a good job of it. And I agree, Ripper wasn't right for Priest. Maybe on the heavier tracks, but those rockin' classic tracks didn't work without him. Love Ripper with Yngwie, tho. I think they make a great team. xD

As a vocalist this dude Rome is quite terrible. Especially live. The problem is that his vibrato just happens. No control over it whatsoever unlike Brad who did have a pretty nice vibrato and very good control in which a lot of emphasis was placed. Still, I am glad Sublime is out there and if this dude is singing so be it. He does well enough that I can listen to his versions of the songs.

Why the fuck does everyone hate on Rome? Brad's gone and has been gone for years.(RIP Bradley) dont get me wrong there will never be another Bradley Nowell but I think Rome is doing a damn good job honoring him by keeping Sublime alive. I've been to a Sublime concert and Rome did nothing but show love for Brad through out the whole show. If you don't like it don't fucking listen to it.

Their new album is so fucking poppy & gay.The first few songs are ok, but from there on out the album just goes downhill to complete crapdom. Faggy little songs about loving girls or leaving girls, or telling girls to leave, with Jack Johnson-like acoustic chords. It's like Rome spent 5 minutes on his acoustic guitar coming up with some poppy happy song, then Bud and Eric were like "OK, cool, lets just play drums and bass to this and call it Sublime". There is no edginess/punk attitude at all.

Fuck dude, any fan should be stoked that we're able to hear these songs live from 2/3 of the originators. Plus Rome is a SERIOUS talent- hes the fill-in of any real fans dreams. He does a great job with Brads songs, BUT he also writes really good new tunes. Maybe you should go back to commenting on what a genius Dave Matthews is, cause you obviously don't know what Sublime was/is about!!!

For all of you that are hating on Rome, if I were Brad, I would take this as a huge compliment, he wouldn't want his friends to no longer play, he would want sublime to continue.
