I can sympathize with her position, but I'd personally not be able to or want to live below the taxable income. That would force me to depend on government or someone else to live. No thanks.
Actually, I suggest she make double the tax threshold, and give 50% of her income to tax deductible charities. My understanding is that that is the maximum deduction.
That way, you get to do some good, while still not paying taxes.
There goes the FSP. This is the MO of the moonbats in NH -- they infiltrate then destroy any freedom loving groups they can and we will all morph into one. She's right about libertarians being basically LIBERALS. It doesn't matter what you pay or don't pay taxes for...
The foundation of libertarianism is maximum freedom of all forms to empower individuals. That is to say, little to no personal OR economic interference. Liberals may share many of our views when it comes to personal liberties, but there is a marked difference when it comes to economic liberty.
However, happily, we're by and large mature enough and educated enough to shrug off your fallacious assertion and the use of the word liberal as a pejorative and emotional cudgel.
or it is playing into their hands, if you make so little money, I imagine (though this may be just me) that your QUALITY OF LIFE WOULD SUFFER but hey she showed them.
It's like saying, hey, I'm on welfare, so I don't have to pay the evil IRS.
I think she's full of shit, she talks about consumption...sorry, if you have a pulse you have to consume at some level, it's all just varying degrees.
I love all these phony flag wavers who leave comments on here that are so negative! This lady has a right not to pay taxes just Quakers don't have to pay taxes. People don't even remember at this point what small government is.
I sympathize with this woman's principled stand, and Ridley too for that matter.
And the fact is, they don't have a leg to stand on here. If they don't want to pay income tax, they need to get rid of their SSN.
And the Grace Commission determined in the 1990's that 100% of the money paid to the IRS as income tax went straight to the Federal Reserve and NOT to roads and war and stuff. The money we are using for war, we are borrowing from China.
Isn't a SSN forced upon you at birth? You make it seem like we had a choice in the matter. I mean of course we could just LEAVE the US, but that hardly makes a point.
She's like the woman who got smacked in the face by her husband and then says to herself "Why didn't i keep my mouth shut?"
You're not dealing with the problem, you're dealing with a symptom and your solution is to mutilate yourself.
Also, there's no correlation between consumption and violence. I had a glass of water and no one got hurt. The notion that some plant died because i drank it's water belongs in the same altruistic self-destruction category as your fake tax "resistance".
Sorry to be contrary, but if you have a Social Security Number... well, then you have volunteered to pay income & employment tax.
If a person doesn't have a SSN, then that person cannot even complete and submit a 1040 form, even tho they earned income.
Also, if the lady would switch from Federal Reserve Notes to American Eagle gold & silver coins (which are legal tender) then she could earn under the poverty line, but still live quite well.
I don't think that a baby who is born into the world has volunteered to pay anything. Non one consented to the terms. It was just forced against them by their parents.
Exactly. The parents got into a three-way contract with the State, called a marriage license, legally registering themselves as incompetent to raise children. Then they gave their children to the state by way of the birth certificate, and topped it all of with an SSN pledging all the child's labour to the State for all of it's life.
I think the word for this is cunningly coerced thru ignorance of the law.
The only thing good about it is that these contracts can be rescinded.
My parents got me my SSN. I made no contract with the state. Any supposed contract is illegitimate. No one has a right to pledge my labor or income to anyone.
When you were little, pink and screaming your guardians made that decision for you. Now that you are older and supposedly wiser, it's up to you to rectify the matter.
The areas of law I would have you look-up are, "Parens Patriae" and "Guardian/Ward Relationship".
One word of caution, if you try to rescind without a full understanding of how to do it and you botch the job, then you are stuck with that SSN for life.
The George Gordon School of Law are experts on this matter.
hmm she must be some kind of unamerican far left traitor which wants to turn america into a muslim state lol thats what faux news bill oreilly would say

Thank you, THAT is the way it should be done. To force yourself into poverty to circumvent paying taxes has to be the dumbest idea I've ever heard.

Do I have this right?
She made a conscious decision to not make enough income to be taxed???
If that's correct...way to go lady....you've showed them.
A bit like cutting off your nose to spite your face eh?

Um, no, it was a principled, honorable position. You see, her goal was to not support immorality, not to make as much money as possible.
