what i wrote about blood transfusion issue was to give an example of our conventional ulmas attitude over some issues. i dont say they are always wrong but at times over some issues they just cling to the facts told by their teachers that they do not accept anything new told to them whether right or wrong. As the aalim in 'Alim Online' program said that most of the past Great Islamic Scholars from subcontinent didnt approve Organ Transplant and Blood Transfusion so it should not be practiced.
I dont know why we hold on strictly to whatever is told to us by our conventional Maulanas. i think we should do research ourselves, read Holy Quran,Sahee aHadees and then make a decision. i heard a famous Maulana saying in the program ' Alim Online' that blood transfusion is haraam though we al know it is life saving.i think, they just pass on the knowledge to the next generations which they get from their teachers and scholars without themselves pondering over the issue...

Well most of the things he said were GOOD...but dont agree what he said about music. Music is not forbidden but it was never a practice of any Prophet or Companions of prophets to listen to Inappropriate poetry and music. The music and poetry we have right now.
The poets and musians had some Decency in them. Most of them were writing Poems about God and Prophets.

The four marriage thing is also allowed but only under certain circumstances which does not make it a 'right' or a 'privilege' which only is bestowed upon men. Marriage is a responsibility, not a picnic. And no man in his right state of mind would marry more than one woman. In most Muslims (NOT Islamic) societies, this practice is discouraged.

All that is said in the movie is after a lot of research and it holds a lot of water. can any of you quote where is music forbidden in Quran. where is it said that muslim women can not marry non muslims. as far as i know Quran is a complete book and it explicitly identifies all things which are forbidden.

Well most of the things he said were GOOD...but dont agree what he said about music. Music is not forbidden but it was never a practice of any Prophet or Companions of prophets to listen to Inappropriate poetry and music. The music and poetry we have right now.
The poets and musians had some Decency in them. Most of them were writing Poems about God and Prophets.
So it realy depends what you listen to If the music you listen to taking you away from the right path it is BAD.

We know that at the time of Hadhrat Mohammad(saw) when he walked into Medina the
ladies of Medina sang a song of welcome whilst beating a drum which is called the duff.
That was a sort of music which was available to the Arabs and nobody can say that it was
not music. However, it was not the practice of the Holy Prophet(saw) to permit the
companions to enjoy music and be given up to music and neither was that their habit.

There is indeed the incident of girls welcoming the Prophet (SAW) with a song but why do we forget the fact that these people were playing the hosts to Prophet and were newly converted ones? A Muslim man is allowed to marry women of the book. The four marriage thing is also allowed but only under certain circumstances which does not make it a 'right' or a 'privilege' which only is bestowed upon men. Marriage is a responsibility, not a picnic. And no man in his right state of mind would marry more than one woman. In most Muslims (NOT Islamic) societies, this practice is discouraged.

Hazrat Daud was a singer Nauz Billah. If we accept this arguement then in Times of Hazrat Adam Alaihi slam Marraige between Brother and sister was allowed so it should be allowed now also. With the shariah of Hazrat Muhammad PBUH all the previous shariah got cancelled and invalidated for Muslims.

think about your statement in light of islam... If you read the Hadis carefully you will find that even our prophet would listen to everyone and anyone (as insignificant as the person might have been)when they spoke of Islam. So dont look down upon ppl as small or as ignorant they might be Allah might give them more insight than you. Further islam is not a rigid religion. May Give you wisdom to understand.
