@skurmjolk The producers of Chow thought it would be nice to tell the woman to do something useful so long as they are not making sandwiches in the kitchen.
Try a cold-cut sandwich with small slices of jalapeño, and you will certainly taste something way different. The spice is much milder, but the flavor manages to make good presence. If you want to slices to stay in the sandwich, put a slice of cheese over the jalapeño and grill/toast the sandwich.
@1JenniferMM True but not everyone wants it as hot and there are some recipes where you take the seeds aside and use them for another part of the dish or for another dish entirely. I know a guy that saves the seeds and dries them so that those who want their chili a bit milder can have it and those who want it hotter can use the seeds he set aside.

The seeds aren't actually the hottest part of the pepper, it's actually the ribs.

yea but doesn't discarding the seeds also discard the heat factor as well?
1JenniferMM 2 years ago 29
no the ribs inside of a pepper are what make it hot.

No because the white veins/ribs on the pepper has a TON of heat on it.
james245lol 1 year ago
@1JenniferMM No, most of the heat is in the white thingys
