I'm a hoarder, and I'm 19, and today, I'm gonna unbury myself. Watching shows like this helps me realize what I will become if I don't get my problem sorted out soon, and it keeps me strong. Thanks to the uploader for putting this up, thanks to all those who understand that hoarding and laziness are not the same thing. To those who have rude and insensitive things to say about the problem that people like me face, I only hope that you will realize your error and be helpful to those who struggle.
come on, being a horder is just being lazy, and they blame their problem on something. excuses for being lazy. other people have family members who die, and hurt in some ways ,but they dont become horders of trash and live in trash. .. lazy. and i dont care what any one says on my opinion.
Oh, I just feel for her children so much. Hoarding, Obsessive Compulsive, whatever you want to call it, these people are disgusting, revolting pigs that enjoy living in feces, garbage, insect, roach infested dumps. I think there should be about 20 people helping clear that out so it'd take only a few hours. There could be so much advertising opportunity too from major companies to assist in the cleaning (Hoover, cleaning companies, etc.) to use their products to get the job done. THEN - I think there should be a huge garage sale with all the stuff and if that was unrealistic, then someone help manage an ebay store for these people..(I am an adult child of a hoarder myself).

@KenyanPlayboyBunnie1 There's a whole market that restores 'antiques' to their original state, why not for those things that are salvageable. Of course, no one's gonna wanna buy an item covered by cob-webs, cat-piss, etc., but some hoarders on these episodes have purchases in their original shopping bags lying around their place. Some hoarders are ones that have 15 versions of the same item. That's what I meant.

I just watched this after watching her son's video and I just want to clear the air I guess. People that hoard aren't just lazy, they're mentally sick, and instead of being judged they need to be understood and helped. My parents are hoarders and I'm still trying to figure out an effective way to help them. I guess, kind of as a result, I'm a neat freak. And I'm sure my extreme isn't good either, but I'm trying to find a happy medium for myself and hopefully, eventually, my parents as well.
When a mother is this ill mentally from her hoarding and received no help, it just gets worse. It's just not the filth, or the buying, it's the mental. Something had to snap in her head where she couldn't cope anymore. If you can't clean what's in your head, you can't clean on the outside where you live.
I'm pretty sure this is the episode where that woman's son said that when he was a kid, he used to sleep with the fan on so it would drown out the noises the cockroaches made when they scurried around at night.

@AuraOkami4593 I just saw an episode: woman called Vula, had 36 cats, 13 dead, cannibalized by the living, one found with guts hanging out, 2 kittens still with cords attached and when they lifted mattress, there were 6 newborn and mother. All the cats were so sick they didnt even run from strangers. Vula didnt even care, the house had about 2 feet of compacted cat crap, and on every surface. They had to treat house as biohazard and decontaminate, seriously. She was a vile woman.

I once felt tremendous guilt at throwing away a butterfinger wrapper. I kept telling myself it had served it;s purpose. It is now in a landfill...somewhere. I think of it often.

@reeseslightning11 I neeeed this show to get me extra motivated for Grand Cleanings of my apartment. I do my best to keep it relatively tidy, but this show, wow, I haul stuff to good will, throw out tons and tons of useless stuff that i didn't even know about, empty the fridge and freezer, move furniture to clean under it, etc. This show is the great motivator, that's for sure!
@reeseslightning11 I have a tendency to keeping old paper work long after it should have been tossed, shreaded, or put in the recycle bin. Ditto for clothes and books. Nothing quite like the people in this show.

@AuraOkami4593 I just saw an episode: woman called Vula, had 36 cats, 13 dead, cannibalized by the living, one found with guts hanging out, 2 kittens still with cords attached and when they lifted mattress, there were 6 newborn and mother. All the cats were so sick they didnt even run from strangers. Vula didnt even care, the house had about 2 feet of compacted cat crap, and on every surface. They had to treat house as biohazard and decontaminate, seriously. She was a vile woman.

@littleniyah Was this a hoarders episode because we get the program here In Australia & I haven't seen it yet, As for the cats I hope that some were not sick to the point where they had to put them to sleep lets hope that some of them found new homes. If this women didn't even care what the hell was she doing owning all these cats because what ever happens it's always the poor animals that suffer.

@reeseslightning11 I neeeed this show to get me extra motivated for Grand Cleanings of my apartment. I do my best to keep it relatively tidy, but this show, wow, I haul stuff to good will, throw out tons and tons of useless stuff that i didn't even know about, empty the fridge and freezer, move furniture to clean under it, etc. This show is the great motivator, that's for sure!

@reeseslightning11 I have a tendency to keeping old paper work long after it should have been tossed, shreaded, or put in the recycle bin. Ditto for clothes and books. Nothing quite like the people in this show.
