@delbomb3131 Russ Feingold was one of the best Democrats, because he actually wanted government to work for the people. I generally didn't agree with him and supported Ron Johnson, but you could always count on him to be upfront and honest. His committment to quality government is legendary.

@JohnRhysMusician Johnson is responsible for the loss of many American jobs through companies affiliated with his plastic company, and he ran for Senate to keep these practices a reality. Johnson also supports banning abortion, keeping same sex marriage illegal, and the PATRIOT ACT: all big government mandates supported by Republican politicians. The people of Wisconsin were clearly on drugs when they voted to throw out the one of the few independent, maverick thinkers in the Senate.

@VoiceHunter I don't agree with you. His record as an American manufacturer is one to be admired. His organization and the related company Bemis have strong records of keeping and creating American jobs. Johnson has received support from American Manufacturing, unusual for a Republican. I don't know that he supports banning abortion, is he supportive of the personhood amendment? Same-sex marriage is not recognized in WI. The PATRIOT Act is debatable, many Republicans oppose it.

@JohnRhysMusician That's a lie. Companies affiliated with PACUR did ship jobs, and Johnson himself called it a byproduct of "creative destruction". He also supports unfair trade deals that result in the loss of many American jobs. Johnson does self-identify as "pro-life", so I would assume that he does support a personhood amendment. He also said he supports the PATRIOT ACT, claiming it "provides the tools" needed to "fight terrorism".

@VoiceHunter I doubt Johnson supports the personhood amendment. I'm pro-life and I don't support the personhood amendment. A personhood amendment would complicate his position in favor of legalized abortion in cases of health, rape, and incest. I disagree with him on the PATRIOT act but understand his position. There are many Democrats that also support the act.

@JohnRhysMusician Anti-choicers want to ban abortion and threaten good doctors and women with PRISON for a medical procedure. Personhood amendment proposals have been backed from the biggest names in the anti-choice lobby, and most anti-choicers would support personhood if it meant banning abortion. Anything to increase the size of government, these days.

Those Democrats were lied to and deceived. However, there are more Democrats than Republicans willing to stand up against the PATRIOT ACT.

He himself has felt the difficulties of unfair trade practices. American plastics manufacturers have been greatly impacted by the growth of Chinese exports.

@JohnRhysMusician Free trade stimulated CHINA'S economy, not America's. Johnson says he has supported free trade laws, but who wouldn't in his place? As long as his job isn't the one going to China, he's just fine and dandy with it. Johnson ran for office to keep capitalism alive, which oppresses people and keeps guys like him with the real power over the world economy.
