hi mate i have the same cam can u tell me all the settings u have as i wanna get the same quality when u say its in p mode what do you mean help me please thanks mate
@HELLYER555 - Hi, on the menu, there are various "modes". Auto, Program, Av, Tv, CINEMA, Portrait, Sports, Night, Snow, Beach, Sunset, Spotlight, Fireworks. P = Program, It's basically, full auto mode. It adjusts the aperature, shutter speed and white balance for you. You can achieve the same results by using the "Easy" button inside the viewfinder. I only recommend the easy button for daylight.
@Tulkon - I use Adobe Premiere LE and create a custom save for mat. Start with the HQ MOV format and edit it, changing the resolution to 1280 X 720 for 720p and change the quality to highest and the bit rate to 15000 kbps using the H264 codec.
@Tulkon - Hi, I've done nothing to the camera. This was taken with the camera straight out of the box. See the settings in the description. They are default settings, I believe.
I use Adobe Premiere LE to edit and I save it in Quicktime MOV Format starting with, In Premiere, LAN quality, I adjust the resolution manually to 1280 X 720, Codec = H.264, Bit rate = 10000 kbps, all else default. I save this as a Youtube HD preset.
Oh! Thx for the info, is the outcome file huge? and i noticed a bit of lag in your video, is that becuz of youtube or the lag was create while compressing the video?
This particular file was 139 mb. The lag is Youtube - The original file plays fine on the PC - I may try another compression that youtube accepts in the future
Uh... yeah... Whatever - It records on a hard drive in the exact same format that It would if it were on a flash drive. It also has a flash drive option.
I already compared the HG20 with my HF10 and the HG20 showed some artifacts, dimmer color and lack of sharpness in my 50 inch lcd indeed it is inherent on Hard drives disc based cameras
Stop it now. You are making a fool and liar of yourself. The HG20 and HF10 have the exact same sensor, lens, processing system and record at the same bit rate except for the HG20 recording at 24mbps as well. The recorded formats are exactly the same. If each were placed in the same place and recorded the same scene at the exact same time, there would be 0 difference.
I have looked at many HD videos and the Canon HG 20 pretty well blows them all away and on the zoom nothing that I have seen can even come close for the price.
Hey, sorry can you tell me the name of the song?

what format does the camera save your clips to on your camera harddrive
thesponge11 2 years ago
@thesponge11 .MST format. The format is good because most editing software like windows movie maker, sony vegas and adobe after effects can read it

It is a Canon Vixia HG20.... I don't understand what you mean. It has the same lens and sensor as most of the other Vixias.
Namnarooni 2 years ago
I am sorry i meant it not as sharp as Hf10, hf20 or hfs10 and those with flash memory.

You, obviously, are clueless.
