how did u root 1.6?? did u have to downgrade to cupcake first? bc i have the mt3g and i really like the new donut update but i also want to flash hero ROMs and get sense ui but do i have to go back to 1.5?

ya i overclock it - to 528

most of the newer roms have it set that fast by default

i've had many friends say my magic is faster than G1 - for sure

it's the extra ram - 288 compared to 192 on the G1

problem with the sound app. or music app. When music is playing and a call comes or any notification alert the phone hangs. sound stop, every thing just go silent. this only happens when the headphone adopter is plug in. any solutions. well I have to select silent for err other app that uses sound, that;s the only way the sound keeps running G1 running cyanogen 4.2.1

yes you'll need root to flash any custom roms on your android device - please check on XDA forums - for complete installation advice - get familiar with rooting & mods before u do anything to your phone - for sure -

ya neither do i but it's alright - the donut build for the vanilla android rom is better - coming soon if u already haven't seen it on cyanogenmod - they have fixed the camera a lot - speed wise (but it's still kinda slow) look for more improvements once 2.0 hits the streets....

the magic & mt3g are the same android device - minus a few little minor changes - the codename was sapphire - yes the magic has a universal google voice search that will search web & maps

i can pinch/zoom in the browser - is that what u mean by multitouch? - some wap pages have been coded to not zoom (ie: picassa) - but overall you can - true multitouch (various access points - manipulating 3d objects in realtime) was a hack that someone coded but i don't think it's integrated into cyanogenmod roms - thanks

The ROM looks kind of slow, I thought Cyanogen was supposed to be much faster now because of BFS in the kernel ?

i kinda had trouble shooting the vid & swiping thru the screens - need a stand - but the rom is fast - for sure - way more than stock rogers htc magic - plus having all the donut 1.6 features just makes it that much better.
