  • they played this song during music class yesterday i always sayy ''love my music class ''

  • why can't there be a love button for this. these guys were the greatest, it makes me wish i was alive during their prime. f*** greed, racism, corruption, and hating. long live run dmc. RIP Jason Mizell

  • what no m.o.a.b`s comment on my channel if you get my humor

  • I really like these lyrics. The rappers of today need to learn from this instead of rapping about weed and sexx. lol

  • The lyrics still appy even to this day.

  • In Detroit Mason in The Morining would always play this while I was getting dressed for school. The ninth grade baby.

  • Only 1 "Sucka MC" on hear clicked dislike.

  • Classic...

  • Wake Up, Wake Up, You might as well wake yo ass up

    Just a dream

Wake Up, Wake Up, You might as well wake yo ass up

  • 0 dislikes

  • sadly it's just a dream

  • first video on you tube that has 0 dislikes. i can see why.

  • Look at the world situation today. War in iraq, Civil unrest in the Middle East. Will there ever be peace? This song will stand the test of time.

  • Love it! Sometimes the classics are just....BETTER lol

  • Young Chicano from South Texas, 1984, and my Marine brothers from NYC turned me on to this. It blew my mind. Rapping about a better world and all the while that damn voice tell them to 'wake up... get up... its just a dream'. This song realy had an impact on me.

  • This classic just popped in my head out of no where and I began to think, todays rappers don't even try and make jams that get these kids to think and move forward! They got to listen to strip club music 24/7 and don't even get a message and substance rap anymore! It's ok to have a fun jam sometimes, but what do you stand for! Some may agree and some may not, but you know I'm right! Peace!

  • That's pure solid hip hop from the heart positive message not heard now.

  • If Run-DMC hadn't made the song 'Its Like That', this might be the greatest Hip-Hop song of all time. Nonethless, a great song by the greatest Hip-Hop group.

    Peace

  • WAKE UP NIGG'A!!!.

  • sick. lyrics + production = classic

  • all these middle aged ass holes on here reminicin on THEM OLD SCHOOL DAYS, ha ha ha ha!!!

  • just a get up

  • hot damn, chicken and spam. this was the s***!!!! wake yow a** up, its just a dream. lovin it man.

  • love em!

  • Awesomeness!!!!

  • what is communism? seriously, cuz i have no idea, i tried searching it up on wiki but i didnt understand, and when i ask other people i still dont understand

  • I'm not the best person to ask how ever I will give my two cents. Communism is a form of government that is based on equality. It was supposed to get rid of the "classes" so there would be no rich or poor. This is because every one gets paid the same amount (meaning the street sweeper gets paid as much as the brain surgeon.) And all the products that a family would need to live would cost the same amount of money. On paper this may sound good but when you add the human element (greed) [next]

  • corruption may occur this has been proven over time. (If any of this is wrong please feel free to comment but dont be rude the olny class I have ever had on this subject was a 7th grade American History class.)

  • thanks dude, i have a better understanding of this, im in gr 12, ive been learning this in social studies since like the 8th grade, but i dont pay attention lol , anyways thanks

  • Its like communisum light, It is the whole idea of spread the wealth. It sucks, i could go on for hours but thats it pretty much

  • @johnbbatten Man this goes way beyonde the realpolitik of needing to incentive egocentric human beings to collaborate. The very reason capitalism works is what they are questioning. Can't we all just get along volutarily? I know its waay far fetched and completely unrealistic, but so did they, hence the theme: a dream they'd had!

  • Great question, and you're right, everything we've been taught about it in school if bs. Recently there was a reprint of a piece by Bob Avakian, the leading communist thinker today called "Imagine...In Living Colour" which is a tribute to Heavy D who just passed and John Lennon who, in both of their songs help answer this question also. Look for it at wwwdotrevcomdotus and let me know what you think.

  • Also Snoop Dogg sampled this for O.J. Wake Up.

  • it has more lyrics (as well as more sense)

than the ones made 25 years later.

  • @PropagandadelFuturo Are you talking about that song by Whiz Khalifa or however you spell it?
