I really feel this song and video, but can't seem to get over the fact that he mixed up Andrew Jackson and Alexander Hamilton. People - Try and name a single Fiat Currency throughout history that has preceded the present one that hasn't completely collapsed and become worthless.
Historically over thousands of years gold and silver have more or less kept their value compared to fake currency.

I wouldnt say that money is the root of all evil. It's not the root, just a tool... its not the money itself that makes us want to do something with it, its comercials and power that makes decisions for us. In one way, money is power and power can cloud peoples judgement... I think that money is as far from the source of the problem as anything, but its the forces behind the money that is the problem... GREAT song anyways :)

I agree with ratfinkskates. Money is simply a system. It is what that money represents in the eye of the beholder that causes he or she to act in an unfavorable way. The closest money could get to being truly evil is the fact that u can recieve ANY material through money. People woudnt bend over backwards for individual goods like milk of bread. Its the choice and flexibility that comes with money that make it so devlishly seductive.

evil thoughts are always in us, if we didn't have money we would get desperate for the food itself and raid farms etc. money's irrelevant. look at any common tool, it can be turned into a weapon just as quickly as it could be used to be helpful. money's just a credit system, it allows you to focus all your energy into one field and still benefit from all the fields. you can stack cans on shelves and produce a mattress. without money you'd be trying to trade eggs for everything.

right, my point is the people on the top try to focus us on trading useless paper so we may be put into a controlled society easier. Thus our deeds to gain income can also be regulated. And money can help amplify this, true that barbarians of old days raided for food and clothes. But now they would do it for money, and with that money becomes the root of evil instead of "eggs". My point is there may have been an agenda with the distribution of monetary units.

you could be on top if you worked to get there you realize, no one is controlling anyone. the root of evil is still the decision maker, and they can make more decisions based on other types of greed at any time. money is just useless paper, the value is defined by us. you have the option to not partake in society. you could live in the woods or something if you wanted. i know people who do.

as did I for a month, and i would love to live in nature again. My point is there is a group of individuals who use financial gain as a means to sway and tempt, teasing the evil characteristics of humans and causing them to do questionable things for money. It has been so since the establishment of the monetary system, and yes weak willed people are easy to control when desire is put into the picture. I'm not saying you are wrong, but you might be missing a detail or two.
