In case some people don't know what has happened to these 2 as far as injuries...Yuko had surgery on her shoulder in April. I'm guessing she can't take steriods which would have been normal to give & she doesn't eat meat so putting on weight is hard for her. Sasha had a bad groin injury from last season that needed to be fixed. When they did finally get back on the ice Sasha sprained his ankle badly & was off the ice again. When they did return 4 months had passed.

Considering all they have been through, they look amazing. This program was a great free skate even though the judges didn't count the final lift. They said Sasha had bent his arm indicating the lift was over. So the score would have been a lot higher than 120. They skate so fast it's hard to see it when you are not there live watching them. Also, their skating skills are so much above everyone elses you can hardly hear their skates on the ice.

PS Yuko dies in the end = so no smiles :)

試合のはずなんだけど、まるでエキシビを見ている気分でした。

ピアノの音とエッジの音だけが響く中で、次々と技を繰り出す二人­が、妖精のように見えました。すごくキレイ。

優勝おめでとうございます……という言葉はもちろんだけど、美し­いものを見せていただいてありがとうございました、と言いたくな­りました。

I agree, Yuka could have put on a smile at the end. Either she was in pain or shock. Also, could not really hear at the end, but it sounded that it was her birthday that day? If so, she should have been smiling no matter what. Otherwise, I liked their skating and lifts a lot, and they were not sloppy as pointed out here. In fact all lifts were very light and well executed. Loved parallel spins as well. Молодцы ребята!
