The thing is, I don't want Group B to return. If it did, it would simply be no where near as good as it used to be. It would be dominated by Citroens and Subarus with no variety in performance or styling - the cars would have no character. It's best that it has died while at it's peak so that we can all cherish and remember it that way. Long live Group B.

The most underestimated rallydriver in history HAS to be Jean Ragnotti in his 2 wd Renault 5.He kept up with the real monsters of group B. and sometimes even beating them (on tarmac)

Those days are gone. They are lowering the output of cars to next season 2011 and it will ruin the sport even more. B-group with new safety measures for the car and as well for the spectators would make a huge rise on tv-numbers I think.

Well, if you look in the other way, taking wrc down to s2000 actually kinda is bringing it closer to group B.

S2000 cars are: Lighter, more simple, noisier, smaller, far more RPM, not boring, less computers, smaller cars... Everything that group B once was (without high horse powers, and with better safety)

If you ask me, s2000 is much more fun to watch, rather then boring WRC cars

@henkkaS4 i completely agree with you there! but what i mean is im gunna miss the high speed :( but i am looking forward to sein Loeb in an S2000 Citreon ive sen the new car and it looks brilliant and i spoke to someone from m-sport where they makes forrd rally cars and they said that what there gunna do is put more boost into the WRC S200 cars so that will make then just as noisy and everything u mention as normal but with closer to WRC Spec cars with the top speed! So looking forward mostly!

out of the running Forever since Even Jensen (when they still existed [1930's-1976]) could have managed the 200 Cars required by the Rules & of course had Four Wheel Drive in a Road Legal GT Car Fourteen Years Before Audi !

I was truelly born in the wrong era. I believe that it wasnt the speed of the cars that wer at fault in those days, it was the safety of the events. 2day u almost ave 2 b 100ft away from a stage whether in days gone by u would have been dodging the cras at the last minute (possibly the cars dodging you). Altho the cars were probably incredibly fast, there is as many high speed crashes 2day but thankfully very few fatalities

at 3:35 the driver and navigotar admitted one day before there crash that the lancias r too fast! the lancia s4 reached 0-62mph in 2.3 seconds on gravel! and an astonishing 1.8 seconds on tarmac. the lancia s4 is practically a "f1 for the dirt!"

Group B wasn't canceled due to Toivonen's death alone, although it was the final push for the ban, Group B was ahead of it's time and the drivers were gods among men to be able to drive those beasts, with today's safety and technology, I'd hope to think something similar would start to rise again.

P.S Why can't I hear the cars in the first half properly :'(, S4, Quattro and 6R4 are the best sounding, S4 my favourite though :)

@Rhidrio3 What you're saying about the technology is right. The new (And next year newer) World Rally Cars are more affordable and makes it easier for privateers to join. And with the new cars easier to drive, the margin for constancy is smaller, letting drivers go maximum attack more.
