  • at 3.2o when geezers bass kicks in is total rock...... love sabbath full stop

  • @ratter52

we already have LZ back then.

  • Bill Ward eh ? What a bloody great drummer ,always overlooked coz of Ozzy and Iommi

  • Bloody brilliant!!

  • very heavy riffs...awesome!!!

  • ministry cover rules

  • Frank Zappa once said this was the heaviest song he'd heard.

  • Check out the 1000 homo djs version of this song,

both are good but the Djs one has a chant able chorus.

  • love the riffs \../

  • ratter52 should write for VH1's biography. You totally understand man, you kick ass!!

  • Thanks!

  • No doubt about it, bro.

  • And find a distant man a-waving his spoon. That's so funny 'cause that's what it sounds like he says.

  • shit I'd love to hear bands immitate Led Zepp, I'm just fucking tired of bands like Theory of a Deadman sounding EXACTLY like goddamned Nickelback. Nickelback should be on the pop stations.

  • Huge.

  • By far the most influential band of the 70's, love this darkness it's so f'n evil and has made us all what we are today.....

  • I agree. It's like you can trace any rock band today back to either Sabbath or Led Zepp with thier influences. The more metal bands, go to Sabbath, the more hard rock, go back to Led Zepp. It's great.

  • dude this isnt fuckin evil at all.lisen to gorgoroth if u want evil. this is just wicked badass

  • Best song i've ever heard... I can honestly say that with my left hand on the Bibel.

  • This is a good song to listen to when you are really really stoned :)

  • fuck, i havnt heard this is almost 2 years =D

    good memories great song :)

  • Frank Zappa's favorite heavy metal song. The mid-70s Mothers used to do a wicked Sabbath parody.

  • yeh this is music

  • i have a perfekt Bass solo written for the drum part in the middle of this song !

  • This song is definitely about LSD

  • Or anything else that makes you climb the walls and crawl out of your skull :)

  • That solo just keeps on going. God damn!

  • lol tony is the only one who looks like hes going to kill someone

  • this shit is bomb niggas

  • ohhhhh yes this song is great... i remember being 12 and dancing to the acoustic bit, pretending i was a Spanish voodoo dancer, dancing on the sofa... ha ha (laughter)the sh~t that is produced these days just sends you to sleep or you need a degree in computer physics to "DIG" the whole vibe...! Surfing fat waves with the real deal (old school)..

  • i love the steel drum solo in supernaut!

  • I love this song, so rich and full of energy. I remember reading in the black sabbath book Doom Let Loose that when Tony and Geezer jammed with John Bonham and Robert Plant of Zeppelin, Bonham wanted to play supernaut because it was his favorite song, and when they jammed to it, apparently he knew the whole song on the drums because he loved it so much.

  • i don't doubt that at all man, the drumming in this song is half the reason to listen to it.

  • And both Bonzo and Ward are amazing!

  • most kick ass song anywhere!

  • Best Sabbath song. Ward's drumming is insane

  • That or Heroine. But yeah it's about getting high.

  • hehe pantera, right?? :-) they kick ass!!!

  • ITS FOCKING AWESOME

  • Figure it out XMIR

  • man these are some awsome riffs in this song dude..............SABBATH!

  • Please refrain from using the words thrashtastic and nuemetal around sabbath.

  • a bit repetitive but I truely love this song

  • This song is absolutely thrashtastic.

  • Heres what happened after their 3rd album. Black Sabbath had been doing live concerts by then and learned that scary music did not get the crowd going enough. So they changed the style of their music to be more upbeat and thus lost their original signature. They were never the same after album 3.

  • Thats not necessarily bad. Vol 4, SBS, and Sabotage were amazing albums.

  • I was buying their LPs when they were first being released and got up to their Sabbath Bloody Sabbath album and just didn't care for them anymore. I haven't heard them for 30 years until YouTube.

I was first exposed to them when riding in Ron Witeks 1968 GTO muscle car. Now, listening to Black Sabbath and tearing down the road in a hot rod is the best way to listen to them. Maybe that is why I cant identify with their later stuff. Ron, where are you now?

  • Correction: 66 GTO!

  • Well at least get yourself sabotage, Technical Ecstacy and Never say die are worth overlooking however.

  • I own the first six albums up to Sabotage, and i'm unsure whether I should be cautious of buying Technical Ecstacy and Never Say Die. Are they really worth overlooking?

  • Well if you have the first 6 you mine as well get em, im just saying there worth overlooking if your a casual fan.

  • Get em' never hurts to say, "Hey I have the whole time line of one of the best bands ever."

  • I'm just about 47, I heard my first Sabbath when I was around 10. Imagine... It's only now, thanks to youtube that I've started playing them again!

  • this is the best song

  • yeah ratter52. i have gotten a ton of messages from the legions of sabbath fans out there. like i said, bash his in-box and then flag all his vids. he is fucking with the wrong crowd. hey little walnuts, don't try to reach us, cause we will fuck-up your mind.

  • Best band or drums and bass ever.

  • i jus think tht modern music is shit compared 2 60's/70's/ kinof 80's music it is just talentless computerised shit which u could only listen 2 if u r talentless urself, like britney spears

  • walnut52 if u dnt like this music y the fuck r u looking and listing to it????????????????????????????????????????? and tobe honest who gives a FUCK wat u think coz we all seem to love black sabbath :) so u carry on listening to wat ever it is that u listen too. by the way EACH TO THERE OWN so if u dnt like it dnt listen to it PEACE

  • hell yeah wellsaid

  • Lets bash on walnut s52. He loves the beatles?. So why in gods green earth would he search for the masters of metal and music. Lets overload his in-box with sabbath love. I already did. Come-on, who's with me.

  • I am

  • Hell no supernaut is better.

  • The best!!! EVER!

The bass, the riff, the voice...

  • sabbath es mi juventud

    les amo a todos

  • AND I LOVE IT

  • Man whats with all this Zep Sabbath competition?

There chalk and cheese dudes, Zep did heaps more folkey stuff Sabbath wouldn't touch with 10 foot clown poll.

  • Black Sabbath influenced heavier metal, and Led Zeppelin influenced more arena rock bands. Both are great, and they share equal influence.

  • Led Zeppelin ownz Black Sabbath anyday. Led Zeppelin doesnt have a bad song but a Metal head like corning will disagree and say that metal is the best genre and say that Black Sabbath is the greatest band ever. Which is wrong they are the greatest Metal/Hard rock band. The Beatles and Led Zeppelin are the 2 greatest(I like Black Sabbath btw im not puttig em down lol)

  • Easily my favorite Sabbath's riff.

  • yo corning1 yo crap head Led Zeppelin is just as good as Sabbath and by the way you spelled Iommi wrong dumbass

  • Black Sabbath was the best fucking band ever. =)

  • YA the old sabbath you want to talk classic this is pure classic to follow

  • A geart guitar riff/song that just keep getting better with time.

  • I absolutely love vol 4, i used to have it on the vertigo label with the booklet inside the gatefold sleeve. Awesome, just awesome.

  • Love the drums, hell yeah!

  • PCP

  • ratter52: All around yes. But Uriah Heep is not to be ignored.

  • Fucking heavy , crank those speakers up

  • One of their fucing best songs.

  • LSD

  • YES not NO

  • BEST SONG OF THE UNIVERSE!!!

  • the lord will get you

  • Sabbath fucking rocks.

  • gangsta + heavy metal = = )

  • WTF?! you dummies need to stop saying gangsta on a Sabbath vid. Go to a Snoopy Doggy doggy vid or smthg. monkeymusic's got nothing to do with Sabbath.

  • do you even lisen to sabbath?

open you mind man and just try to respect

    the kids opinion

  • This is more twice as badass as the second most badass thing in the world.

  • i agree with that sentiment.

  • World broke he was head banging so hard, and little twisted horrors like this seeped through the crack he made.

  • I love this goddamn song.

  • oh be quite

  • was i talking to you man no i don't think so so you can't say shit

  • GOD DAMN!

  • what the fuck is wrong with you too is something wrong or what are you fucked up in the head.

  • GOD DAMN!

  • your kidding...right?

  • 2:17... OMFG, Ozzy changed a lot!

  • so has tony and bill, but geezer hasnt changed all that mauch

  • Well yea, the cover is off Ministrys cover album. lol

  • Absolutely fantastic song, was the first i heard of sabbaths ever and remains my favourite.

  • Supernaut is one awesome mfckn masterpiece of a song!! I love it.....Sabbath forever!!!!!

  • metallica sold out not because they changed their style of music, but because they changed it to something else their manager told them toplay to get paid more. Hence they sold they're music style for more money "selling out". They're manager gets sacked, new one comes along, metallica play what they want again, enter death magnetic =] They did sell out, no matter how you think of them after they did.

  • black sabbath is afterall one mother fucker stoned oout rock n roll band!

  • the best spliff-rock track of all-time...

  • what is the meaning of spliff rock?

  • A good tune to smoke a spliff (Joint) to? Stonerrock track maybe should have been a better word? ;)

  • spliffs arnt that big in america, since most over here (that i know at least) dont half with tobaco

  • Black Sabbath and Metalica both KICK_ASS

  • yea well u know metallica is the sabbath of the 80s!same spirit!

  • but metallica sold out

  • I totally agree dude, both are the best rock and metal band that has ever exsist

  • Fuckin love his jam. It's one of my fav songs by them.

  • they're both fucking great bands

  • no..sabbath was the first metal band .. and zeppelin is first loud hard rock band .. today best metal band was PanterA ;) for sure

  • Zombie also said that all post Alice Cooper shock rock was a complete rip-off.

  • i love black sabbath, they kickass!

    this song especially =D

  • It's great to read so many comments from young people discovering the real Black Sabbath - & loving it! I'm 48 now, and been listening Sabbath since I was 12, now my 3 sons are as mad on them as their dad!

Also, if you like this then search for 'Budgie' and 'Wishbone Ash'. You won't regret it.

  • yeah dude thats the truth .. music with soul lasts forever ..every metal freak today has his roots in black sabbath ..some will recognize it and some not

  • Fuck yeah Budgie is the shit!!! And I've heard of Wishbone Ash but I've never really heard their stuff. I only know about them because they were mentioned in an article in Guitar Player about the origins of twin lead guitar (mmm yummy). But if they are mentioned in the same Black Sabbath and Budgie they must be totally righteous!!!

  • The CD you should listen to is Argus - one of the top 5 albums of all time IMO. Seriously, just go out & buy it, cos it's amazing!

Wishbone Ash have a much lighter sound - in fact I wouldn't call them heavy at all, more prog rock than heavy rock, but their guitar craftmanship & artistry cannot be denied.

Another band from that era that's worth listening to is Babe Ruth, - they're another band that excelled with their guitar solos.

  • you cant jump on the page stole all his music from old blues artists bandwagon without knowing, it really is the onlt thing people can say as to why they dont like led zeppelin, hes written some of the best known riffs in music, heard of kashmir, heartbreaker, whole lotta love, black dog? thats hardly no riffs, and as for him copying music from old black artists have you heard of black sabbath there first album? they did the same, anyways all page did was use 1line and covered 5 blues songs in all

  • I've been listening to this for 30 years and the older I get the better I like Sabbath's song writing. So simple but so genius. Not to mention going two-chord Tito Puente for 12 bars and then coming back out with a riff that sounds like a Trans Am with a hole in the muffler. Amazing.

  • I so agree! This sounds as interesting and inspiring as it did back in the 70s!

  • the reason no one can come up with any new good riffs is cause iommi and page used them all up.

  • lol, add angus young and that's about right

  • yers him too!

  • 666.......... Too cool to even be reviewed.

  • one of my favourite sabbath songs!

  • I've never heard this song before - and I must say it sounds awesome!

  • from black sabbath

  • omg another awesome fuckin riff

  • zappa wasn't a fag dude...altough for me it's sabbath all the way all the day\m/

  • I have always thought of some supernatural Freak God flying across the sky accompanied by hell's legions myself

  • ive al;ways thought of a van speeding down the highway with patrol officers chacing after the van

  • I walked into my wedding reception with this song playing.

    LONG LIVE FUCKING SABBATH!!!!!

  • yeeeeeeeeeaaaaah! The migthy sabbath.

    Jeesussss !. I didn´t knew about this song. It's assssssstooonishing ,

now that's rock ' roll, with this ,an astonishing girl, an astonishing hot rod, all together and you will live forever in 4:48 minutes

  • Not really. Sabbath's main influences were blues groups, not pop rock like the Beatles

  • Along with symptom of the universe, this is my favorite Sabbath song. Surprisingly, they don't play these on the radio; just your standards like paranoid, war pigs and iron man.

  • I KNOW. What the hell is up with that?

  • There are so many best songs of Black Sabbath. Such geniality!

  • One day I was listening to Black Sabbath at 78 speed, and I saw God...

  • ? Explain

  • Probrably a club name.

  • Haha! Cheech and Chong, nice!

  • Finally, someone understands my comment.

I've heard it can also be done by playing Grand Funk at 78 speed. :-P

  • Zappa liked that song too!

  • zappa was a faggot nobody cares a shit bout him. this is fuckin black sabbath not other shits

  • How dare you

  • You people know that Frank Zappa claimed this to be his favorite rock song, or said "It was the best"?

He loved how the double guitars sounded, the solo etc.

Sabbath are gods, Best Metal band ever, No doubt.

  • Very funny.:)

  • They are the godfathers of Metal, no real question guys, tis self explanitory. I love Metallica but Sabbath did it 30 yrs earlier. Remember the production is from the '70's. As a born Iron Maiden fan & I learnt all the riffs n tunes I still think Sabbath & Deep Purple are the true benchmarks 4 all

  • same but least i know there not satanic

  • this is my favorite song on vol4

that and under the sun/everyday comes and goes

  • LOL, I want to know what the devil eats for breakfast!! give me some psychedelic drugs.

  • i take it your not a sabbath fan then

  • dont talk shite randi if you really new sabbath you would no they are not satanic dipshit

  • Yup. Its Total

  • Dude i dont like the beatles, but it had to start somewhere.

  • ya right you dont how wrong ya are man........

  • One of the most powerful songs, EVER! Sabbath Rules!

  • i love sabbath

  • since you said earth and it says nothing about it on the comments I gotta say that Black Sabbath was originally called Earth and was really bluesy and did blues covers (they did a cover of Blue Suade Shoes\m/) which can be heard on the Ozzy basement tapes
