A lovely story song by David. Based on the novel ' Girl With A Pearl Earring' by Tracy Chevalier and later made into a film starring Colin Firth as Johannes Vermeer and Scarlett Johansson as Griet - his teenage artistic helper, that he paints a portrait of. In reality it is thought it is one of his daughters though. The lyrics are the words of Vermeer and Griet and are very tender and intimate. I have two portraits of his painting and I look at them whenever I hear this song. Charismatic !

David has captured her in a realistic way.have two portraits of the painting here in front of me and look at Griet when I hear this song. David is to be praised too for his song about John Barrymore.
