This is so wrong on a number of levels. Lay your left hand flat on a table and see how much you can move it left and right. Hardly at all. This is called radial deviation and ulnar deviation.
In the golf swing your wrists do not hinge on just one axis.
Interesting. My coach says this is WRONG. And Shan Clement doesn't agree with this either! How are we amateurs meant to know who is right!? In my mind the right wrist moves to the side (bends) but also seems to upcock a little too
@cockywatchman1976 This is excellent advice and you should go back to Shawn Clements site for a refresser because this is exactly what he advocates as well. Martin and Shawn are both excellent instructors and great in front of the camera.
@daver19572000@daver19572000 Its actually not that great advice. Ive looked at this carefully. The left wrist cocks up for sure. But the rght wrist does not completely bend right-it has to upcock a little too. Otherwise it doesnt support the shaft. I have clarified this with my professional and he agrees wth me 100%. I guess its relative-relative to the left, yes its a bend. But to say it bends 100% right is just plane wrong. I have asked Shawn Clement personally and he agrees.
@daver19572000 Just not true-I have the email from Shawn. I think Hall is correct, but Clement doesn't agree. He actually said "Martin hall didn't design the human body" haha. Anyway, wrist cock and bend naturally (I still think the right wrist cocks a little as well as bends-as does my coach). My aim is for less wrist cock, so I don't try to do anything
Talking about Golf grips, When you pick up a golf club your hands are the only part of your body that touch the club. For many years the hands (grip) have often been referred to as the steering wheel of the golf swing. I don’t believe this could be more true. Gripping the golf club correctly makes playing this game a much better experience. w w w (dot) golferbreak80 (dot) c0m

Hi Martin, great ideas but why did your friend move the ball much further forward than you had it, and if it is too close to the rear of the cut-out doesn't that promote excessive wrist hinge too early, or am I not understanding this drill?/
Anyone notice how the guy hitting the ball at the end segment moved the ball up away from the back of the board from where Martin originally had it, lol...
Thank you for taking the time to post this video of Mr hall. The Part of the Video with the Hinges are so important in regards to TGM and a major part of any players correct wrist positions.
martin,
what are the dimensions (length x width x heigth) in inches of the IFTB in your video?

Patronising (wrist) cock!

I made one of those boards - then I got to thinking - why the cut out? It seems a plain rectangular or square board could serve the same purpose.

@daver19572000 So I think you need the refresher course (not refresser!), some spelling lessons might help you too.

Should have painted the board and stamed a name on it, would have sold a million!
Would have liked to see balls hit without the tee.
Also does same hand position apply to driver/woods?
Thanks
