  • FUCK

  • Dr: Robotnik: SNIVLEY!!

Snivley was my favourite character of em all :D

    omigod so much nostalgia.

  • the song is so evil

  • "Snively, what color is my heart?"

  • @juandls1 I don't see a heart...

  • @juandls1 This is a hash tag: 8Q0RJZnGAKs

  • So... Evil...

  • Wow... comments disappoint me... I like both Tv series.. they're meant for different moods

  • as said by the nostalgia critic....JESUS!!!!!

  • Speaking of which, I'm speechless. Idazmi7 and edward18517 might as well be Team Jacob and Team Edward.

  • @JmariolinkJ ???

  • @Idazmi7 No offense intended; just an observation. You and edward185176 have been arguing of for at least three pages.

  • @JmariolinkJ More than that, actually ;)

  • @JmariolinkJ I know.

Sorry about the display, but I get *really* tired of SEGA Sonic fans *real* fast. They hate the American Sonic The Hedgehog the Animated Series because it tries to be dramatic, then use the earlier AOSTH as a "clear representation" of American Sonic.

They do that because AOSTH has a rather worthless reputation. Just look at a SEGA forum.

  • @Idazmi7 Ah, I see. thank you for explaining. I'm not terribly surprised, since fans of other series are guilty of this kind of judgment as well, if not even more so.

  • @JmariolinkJ Mm-hmm. Sonic fans are usually rated among the worst, as they have no reasons to dislike the American Sonic: not even vague reasons, seeing that is a *very* small, unimportant fandom compared to the games. Not to mention, it is non-canon. (though how Sonic has any "canon" as a franchise at all eludes me. Even the all-important games diverge greatly from the "standard")

to quote: "Eggman isn't *supposed* to be dangerous! Where's Amy Rose? Where are the Chaos Emeralds? This sucks!"

  • @Idazmi7 Good thing i read before i make a comment, i almost missed the "to quote"

  • @Idazmi7 Yeah, I observe that, too. I actually wasn't aware that Sonic fans are among the worst. I guess it's just partisanship that comes with growing up "knowing" a character (i.e. Spongebob is immature, silly, and has equally insane friends) and the supposedly horrid thought of attempting to see the series from a less humorous and more dramatic viewpoint. It probably doesn't feel authentic to them. That reasoning doesn't hold for games like Sonic and Zelda, though.

  • @JmariolinkJ "That reasoning doesn't hold for games like Sonic and Zelda, though." I know, right? Funny thing is, this Sonic WAS the original style of the character! (aside some visual differences)

    /watch?v=nEdhGgvy6Oo - Sonic 1 Last level (Villain's headquarters)

    /watch?v=LT5HvXDCq_U - SatAM's Robotropolis (Villain's headquarters)

The backdrop doesn't look any different one to another at all, nor is Sonic's visible personality very different.

  • @Idazmi7 Haha, my goodness. :)

  • @JmariolinkJ LOL

  • Eggman can be pretty damn dangerous when he's actually pulling off schemes. 3 and Knuckles, Adventure, Adventure 2, and Generations are all prime examples of that.

  • @edward18517 Don't forget Unleashed... Though I know you probably want to. XD

  • the only thing that really annoyed me about Unleashed was that god damn night time enemy music x_x oh and Daytime Sonic's WAY too much about just speeding through everything and not really much platforming in that game.

  • who has ever used Adventures of as the "clear representation"? The only "clear representation" is the games where Robotnik's a perfect blend of evil and funny instead of being too far on either side like how it is with either American cartoon.

  • This is how Robotnik was when he lost his Pingas..It was truly terrifying among all..

  • OMG looks like I started a flame war here by saying AOSTH Robotnik was only popular for pingas. Here is my idea to prevent further arguments. Discuss AOSTH Robotnik on AOSTH videos and discuss SATAM Robotnik on SATAM videos. Problem solved.

  • not if a discussions been started in one or the other.

  • @jmario232 Indeed.

  • I like both. I like SatAM Robotnik for being the rare villain that is truly menacing. Look at 0:25. Even when he loses he isn't any less menacing. He's a constant imposing threat until his final defeat in the last episode.

AOSTH Robotnik is a totally different character, and I like him for his own reasons. Like his model sheet says, he "is not a straight villain. He is an object of ridicule." He's "that fat adult you hated when you were a child, or your least favorite politician."

  • Also I do respect the AoSTH version of Robotnik but for more viable reasons such as seeing him as a bumbling bad guy who was fun to laugh at. Not for pingas.

  • @jmario232 Okay. I just cannot stand when other Sonic fans find need to piss on SatAM for being different (which I thought he was doing)

P.S. To notify someone of your response, highlight the comment you want to respond to and click REPLY. If I had not passed this page, I wouldn't have known you were talking to me. :)

  • It is true. All of Robotniks minions save for his nephew were mechanical fitting for his love of machinery and pollution. His empire and capital city of Mobotropolis was fully automated and filled with competent and heavily armed mechanical soldiers all programed to either destroy or capture for slavery. Quite fitting those who become slaves become robots themselves called Robians/Workerbots. This guy is obviousely thinking of underground where he had the silly bounty hunter minions.

  • uh no, I'm talking about Julian Robotnik from SatAM.

  • @edward18517 Then, you need to educate yourself. Look up: "Sonic Boom". In that episode, Robotnik *murders* a Freedom Fighter through torture, and nearly kills Sonic.

  • I saw all the episodes as a kid. I know what he's capable of. That "torturing" in no way helps argue that he's better. My point is that SatAM Robotnik is WAY too dark for the kind of villain Eggman's supposed to be.

  • @edward18517 "I saw all the episodes as a kid"

    Explain your earlier fail, then.

  • ....how's about you tell me about this "earlier fail". All that I've been talking about is the Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog Robotnik and the SatAM Robotnik, and I've gotten neither of them mixed up.

  • @edward18517 Your comment: "4. How were they smart enough? They were constantly screwing things up in Robotropolis without Robotnik's guidance."

    Who's "they?"

  • Swatbots. Unless Robotnik's guiding them they have no chance in hell against the Freedom Fighters.

  • @edward18517 Robotnik *never* guides them. I gave you an episode link: in which episode Sonic and Sally ane everyone else were CHASED DOWN BY ONLY *TWO* SWATBOTS!!!!

Moron! you don't look before you leap.

  • First of all I'm intellectually not imparied.

Secondly I've seen the episode before. It makes no sense why they weren't able to destroy them just like any other Swat Bots.

  • @edward18517 Except that alwas happens: Sonic needs a Power Ring to defeat more than three armed SWAT-bots.

And you just might BE intellectually impaired.

  • If I was intellectually impaired I wouldn't have gotten through High School with Bs and As -_-

And no he doesn't always need a power ring. They've run into walls and collapsed to pieces before.

Regardless, the Swat Bots have nothing to do with how good Robotnik's character is in either show.

  • @edward18517 "And no he doesn't always need a power ring. They've run into walls and collapsed to pieces before."

    In the opening, only.

  • so are we gonna talk about Robotnik or not?

  • @edward18517

"PIENDISH PINGAS" vs "...Adieu, rodent. I'm almost sorry it's over..."

    hmm....

  • that's hardly the most menacing thing that Adventures of Robotnik says

  • @edward18517

    I *Hate* that hedgehog!

Take better careof your body parts: I won't replace them next time!

I want that PEINOUS Hedgehog on my desk!

    I know the drill.

  • ...what are you talking about?

  • well sorry that I didn't respond. Your comment was marked as spam. And I'm not a troll.

As for your quote, I still don't understand what it is you're talking about.

  • @edward18517 You said: "that is hardly the most menacing thing Adventures Robotnik says"

Yes. it is, and you ARE a troll.

  • No it isn't and no I am not. You just can't accept that someone has a different opinion than you.

  • @edward18517 PINGAS

  • I still don't get how people heard that. It doesn't even sound liked penis, especially not when you listen to him actually saying the sentence.

  • @edward18517 It's his schtick now, though.

  • and your point is...

  • @edward18517 Well, that's what he is known for. It's been my point all along, so....

  • no, your point was that SatAM Robotnik is better.

And that's hardly all that he's known for, that's just what he's known for to people that are on youchewpoop

  • @edward18517 It PROVES my point.

If that's not all he is known for, what then?

  • for being a fun villain

  • @edward18517 More like inane.

  • to you

  • @edward18517 Perhaps you could make a video about how "fun" he is, without the PINGAS.

  • or perhaps you could just accept the fact that someone has a different opinion than you do.

  • @edward18517 Fail response. Goodbye, I'll watch Beavis and Butthead if I want mindrape.

  • ...what the fuck are you even talking about? How can a response fail? If someone responds to you they respond to you. If they don't they don't. No inbetween.

  • @edward18517 You respone failed because I accept opinion.

One cannot opinionize a fact, therefore, your statement is not an opinion, but a sneaky attempt to re-wrire fact: like most people, you state false facts as opinions so people will sympathise with you.

  • considering you have not stated how either is factually better than the other. What is better is opinion.

  • 1,2, and 3. Fanboy. When did I "worship" Jim Cummings? I just mentioned agreater talent.

    4. No they didn't. You are obviously not familiar with SatAM: Robotnik has everything automated, and only has ONE henchman. Perhaps you mistook SatAM for Sonic Underground? Pfft.

  • Or you just can't take the fact that someone might think differently than you

  • @edward18517 "Thinking differently" and being totally wrong are two different things.

  • considering there is no wrong answer to which Robotnik's better...

  • @edward18517 Consideringthat this WHOLE argument exists because you mixed up continuities...

  • 1. That has nothing to do with being right or wrong.

    2. When did I ever mix up any continuity?

  • @edward18517 2. Look back at the conversation, LOL

  • Don't get me wrong, this Robotnik is well done. But the sheer silliness in the AOSTH Robotnik actually made me like him more.

He almost seemed like a thickly-veiled satire of the stereotypical villain.

  • @JmariolinkJ That's exactly what he was. The notes on his Character Model Sheet say he "is not a straight villain. He is an object of ridicule." He's "that fat adult you hated when you were a child, or your least favorite politician." His creator has also described him as "Animation's sexiest fat man".

I don't know what all the arguing is about. I love my SatAM box set, but if I find an AOSTH box set I'll buy it and love it too. Why do so many fans feel that they have to pick one or the other?

  • @FnuAw The argument was about the silliness of the other Robitniks vs this one.

Your statement describes all Robotniks and Eggmen, except this one, and many Sonic fans just ignore this Robotnik's existance as "Non-canon", "incorrect interpretation", or "Not what he was *supposed* to be".

  • @Idazmi7 What exactly was silly about anything He did in Sonic Adventure 2? Even Adventure 1 showed him to be dangerously genre savvy and crazy prepared, building two Egg Carriers in case Chaos rebelled and Sonic wrecked the first one. Even in the original games he could be formidable. How many humongous bases and factories did he have again?

AOSTH Robotnik is the oddball, but that doesn't make me like him any less. I enjoy having different shows interpret the character differently.

  • @FnuAw All of Eggman's factories blew up.

  • @Idazmi7 I don't remember Chemical Plant Zone ever blowing up. Actually I can't remember many zones that did blow up. Wasn't it usually just the final base and any escape ships beyond that? And of course the Death Egg always fell for some reason.

  • @FnuAw They were always implied to be destroyed/depopulated, game after game in the Genesis era, especially in the good ending to Sonic 1. In SA 1 and 2, they always blew up.

SatAM Robotnik was always the greater threat, I liked him as a villian. I liked the game versions as diversions from dull reality sometimes, but I'm kind of sick of fans who cannot tell the difference between SA2 Eggman and SatAM Robotnik. (Night/Day)

  • @FnuAw Yeah, judging by the entire series, actually, I'd have to agree with you, even if I never played the games or seen either of the shows. (which i have.)

Regarding picking a side, I guess it's just a matter of taste.

  • This sounds EXTREMELY similar to the music from the castles in Super Mario World, just with the background music volume raised and the keyboard slowed down.

  • SNIVLEY!!!

  • I'm not going to waste everyone's time complaining about names, but he will always be "Robotnik" to me.

  • And after all these years, his voice actor plays the role as a stuffed bear for a young british boy.

  • @Coolblue3680 That's called GOOD VOCAL RANGE.

  • @Idazmi7 And I could not agree more.

  • @Coolblue3680 ^-^

  • thumps up for M&M's... ha! scarface theme...

  • anyone else notice, this sounds like a song out of Donkey Kong 64? or rather, Rare was fans of the series?

  • @omegasignas It sounds to me a bit like the boss themes out of Banjo Tooie, especially the one for Lord Woo Fak Fak that giant anglerfish.

  • he scares me

  • I just realized this is basically the SMW Ghost House theme.

    Mind = blown.

  • stopcensorship. org

    fightforthefuture. org/pipa/

Stop the SOPA and Protect IP Acts. Pass on the word.

  • SNIV-LAY!! Find me that HEDGEHOG!

  • @Surenity lol!

and the funny part is, one of My friends last name's Snively! XD and then I started calling her that!

  • @RyuuzakiHideki619 If I actually met someone with the last name Snively it would provide me with an endless source of amusement at their expense, lol.

  • @Surenity lol true XD

  • Robotnik: GET A LOAD OF MY PINGAS ROBOTOCIZER!!!

    Sonic: NO.... NOT THAT!!!

  • @GeneralKavakos I'm making a SatAM based fangame: I was wondering if you could fix / remake the timing on this rendition so I could use it.

    :3

  • 0:25 Terminator

sorry, i had to say it :|

  • This was the BEST one. Even better than Eggman, and i love Eggman. This version of Robotnik gave me chills! : )

  • I still wonder how he makes his eyes glow like that. creepy!

word of advice, you don't want to know what color is Robotnik's heart... Snively found out the hard way.

  • @TechnoHajikelist Let me try to remember...

    Snively: "I don't see a heart, sir."

    Robotnik: EXACTLY.

  • NO MORE PINGAS!

    NO MORE PINDESS!

    NO MORE PEINIOUS!

    NO MORE PENDES!

  • i like the pic at 0:32

  • Wow even in the cartoons robotnik gets the good songs.. But then again so does sonic, and don't kill me robotnik

  • tht robotnik is almost as scary as tails doll

  • A MOST EVIL THEME! =O

  • @THELASTREDMAGE the only thing that'd top Robotnik in Evility would be Lordgenome and the Anti-Spirals

  • Let's just face it. Robotnik in AoSTH was only popular because some youtube user edited a simple voice clip making it sound like he said penis. Don't believe me? All AoSTH videos involving Robotnik are litirally spammed with jokes relating to pingas that my head explodes. If it wasn't for Kingstegblob AoSTH's Robotnik would be nothing. This version of the doctor though is popular for more good reasons and not because of YTPs.

  • Robotnik in the Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog was great with or without that fad starting.

  • @edward18517 No.

  • ...no what?...

  • @edward18517 *rolls eyes*

  • you didn't answer me

  • @edward18517 "No" as in, Adventures of Sonic Robotnik sucks.

  • like hell he does

  • @edward18517 Yes, he does suck. SatAM Robotnik was popular *without* penis jokes.

  • 1. What do penis jokes have to do with anything?

    2. What does popularity have to do with how good something is?

    3. BOTH Robotniks were good.

  • @edward18517 Prove it. I'll prove mine first:

    1. SatAM Robotnik was voiced by a well reputed actor with past work and excellent vocal range

    2. SatAM Robotnik *looked* threatening, and *was* threatening at the same time. (He killed no less than 5 Freedom Fighters in the show)

    3. SatAM Robotnik got popular without using unnecissary cheap humor reminescent of "Beavis and Butthead" sex jokes

    4. His henchman was smart enough to run a large city without having instant epic failure kick in

  • first off, I don't have to prove anything to anyone. It's OPINION what is good and what is not. But if you really want me to refute what you're saying, fine.

    1. Robotnik's voice for Adventures of was a blues singer that had a wide range in vocals too.

    2. Robotnik in Adventures of was fun to laugh at, but he could also make some of the most hateful faces I've seen.

    3. So did Adventures of.

    4. ....no they were not. Scratch and Grounder at least survived all the crap they went through.

  • @edward18517

    1. Irrelivant

    2. He was stupid, so that doesn't matter

    3. No, he didn't

    4. Yes they were.

  • 1. How the bloody fuck is that irrelevant? You go on and on worshipping Jim Cummings, and when I bring up that the guy who did him in Adventures of was a Blues Singer with obvious great voice range it's irrelevant? How the hell's that work?

    2. ...how's that not matter? EVERY SINGLE QUALITY ABOUT A CHARACTER MATTERS in making the character who they are.

    3. Yes he did.

    4. How were they smart enough? They were constantly screwing things up in Robotropolis without Robotnik's guidance.

  • @jmario232 I just like the Robotnik in AOSTH because he's the only funny robotnik.

  • Huh. Not really as distinctive as AoSTH Robotnik's theme. Sure it's suitingly sinister, but it doesn't really have a voice of its own...

  • PINGAS... Evolved

  • Needs more pingas on 0:01, 0:02, 0:03, 0:04....

  • This is amazing.

  • if you speed this up it sounds like browser's theme from any mario game

  • wow this is the best version of eggman ever

    dr eggman? NO!

Dr Robotnik is more intimidating and the original one was more evil and better than this new one

  • @Andaverde That guy up there IS Doctor Eggman. The name Robotnik was made up for him when Sonic came to the US. His name has always been Eggman since day 1 in Japan.

  • @inumaru988 true but after they changed the name dreamcast didnt sell well enough . i say changing the name of robotnik over here is 1 of the resons why sonic games have had trouble around 3-8 years ago.

i cant fully get in the games most of the time now because i grew up with the name robotnik

  • @NUFC4LIFE001 I highly doubt one little name change had a great effect on the sales of a game system. And Sonic games have not had trouble due to changing a name. That's ridiculous.

  • @inumaru988 yh i know, was having a joke but i do miss the robotnik name. being seroius now (so i dont look like an idiot) dreamcast didnt sell well because it couldn't play dvd's and for me in the UK no adverts come out.

sonic games- the games are not that bad even sonic 06 is ok

  • @inumaru988 Why is he not EGG-SHAPED then?

  • @Idazmi7 He was called Eggman because of his video game self, who is very egg-shaped.

  • @inumaru988 Well then, this guy isn't Eggman.

  • @Idazmi7 Oh, he is. They just wanted a more human-like physique for him in this. Just because Eggman from '06 looks human and isn't quite egg-shaped, doesn't mean he's not Eggman.

  • @inumaru988 His name is Dr. Julian Ivo Robotnik. "Eggman" appeared in 1996 for the first time, and even then, "Eggman" is a rude nickname. THIS is Robotnik.

  • @Idazmi7 Robotnik is an American-given name. He was dubbed it when he came over to the states. Since his creation in Japan, he was given the name Eggman. Since the guy here is the same guy, but with a different design, I consider him Eggman. It's okay if you want to refer to HIM as Robotnik, the name he's best remembered by in this form, but it annoys me when people say he's not Eggman or that Robotnik is the original, correct name.

  • @inumaru988 Actually, he originally didn't have a name: He was the Mad Doctor. "Eggman" caught on in Japan at an expo, according to Yuji Naka. In The States, the character was named after his *actions*, ergo his robotic inventiveness. Eggs had nothing to do with the concept: he wasn't even Egg-Shaped! Also, Sonic was named Sonic for Americans, (he was made for Americans) SEGA knew it meant fast, not that it hadto do with sound. S-O-N-I-C is his official name in Japan: not just the U.S.

  • @Idazmi7 Then why is Eggman written on the ships in Sonic 2?

  • @inumaru988 Sonic 2, not Sonic 1.

  • @Idazmi7 I said Sonic 2.

  • @inumaru988 The SEGA Expo was obviously between Sonic 1 and 2.

  • @Idazmi7 Anyway, this has gone on far enough. I did my research and found that both names may as well be considered correct. The American manual for Sonic 1 has him as Doctor Robotnik and The Japanese manual for the game has him as Doctor Eggman. So, yes, he has always been referred to as Eggman in Japan. I just go by Eggman since the Sonic series originated in Japan. We can agree to disagree and call him what we want. Good day.

  • @inumaru988 The games are not the ONLY continuity. He is not "Eggman" here. End of story.

  • @inumaru988 both names are correct, but i never call him eggman it might suit him in japan but to me (in the UK) it sounds like a badguy from a young kids cartoon not an evil master mind, i cant take that name serious.

i didnt mind what sega did in sonic adventure 1 when both names were used.

ive never noticed the name eggman on a ship on sonic 2 (would that appear on the european carts aswell?) i have a look tomorrow

  • @NUFC4LIFE001 But the Sonic franchise basically WAS for kids. Eggman/Robotnik is meant to be a fun-to-watch and goofy mad scientist with a goofy grin. The "Adventures" cartoon series actually was closer to what he was meant to be. Though I DO like what SatAM did.

  • @inumaru988 i wouldn't say the whole franchise were made for kids, the tv shows yes. I SYILL ENJOY WATCHING THEM MUST BE A GROWN UP KID LOL

i agree with robotnik being a fun-to-watch and goofy mad scientist like in adventures of sonic the hedgehog most fans dont know that (they only have to read the sonic game manual), i also liked what they did to the satam robotnik aswell

  • @inumaru988 It would be incorrect to label to this Robotnik as "Eggman" since he was never referred to as such in the series. All Eggmans are Robotniks; not all Robotniks are Eggmans.

  • @GeneralKavakos I know that. I was just saying that I get annoyed when people say that Robotnik is the correct, original name in all regards.

  • Jim Cummings is one of the best voice actors for Robotnik, too good to be put in the games. You know, Mike Pollock, the current voice actor for Robotnik, said he inspires his portrayal on Jim Cummings's portrayal.

  • why am I reminded of the Mario World castle theme?

  • 0:26 Evil Pingas

  • 0-0...

  • sounds like music you hear in donkey kong 64

  • 0:47 MMMMMMM!!

  • @ 0:32 his nose looks like a PINGAS

  • @tehbobbob8477

    you look like a pingas

  • @tehbobbob8477 NO... That joke is out dated and overused.
