another example of a low drug in approach completely dependant on the engine to get to the runway. bad example to put on video for the whole world to see. get some good dual instruction before you kill yourself and once again put a black mark on general aviation.
@betaepsilon Have you ever landed at your aircrafts min speed on a short strip surrounded by trees with little to no go around potential. How about the Idaho Backcountry where you spend literally hours at a time with No Place to land in the event of an engine out.
@betaepsilon No Video uploaded, no concept of flying, no clue. Harsh comments by you to someone who had enough speed and merely regulated his approach by moderate power adjustment. Bush landings are not for the weak but can be done safely. If you don't like this vidoe then maybe you should stick to your sealed runways that is 50 foot wide and + 2000 feet long. Then you can do a textbook approach. You even wrote :"example of a low drug ..." Not only does this not make sence it is miss spelled.
@ everybody who thinks there is wasted runway ahead. Why on earth do you think it's even remotely close to being a good idea to land far down the runway in the mountains? Especially in a 170. For those of you who don't know - the Cessna 170 is a nice little airplane but it doesn't offer up much power so the more room for a go around the better.
I bet with the mechanical turbulance off the trees on each side, a cross wind landing there would be very sporting. My other comment would be, look at all that wasted runway up ahead you didn't use. LOL.
Now that's thick! Great landing. Yeah and to Bustmasterpilot; I'm pretty sure things like windsheer, crosswinds, and density altitude are considered in ANY landings.
Nice...alot of people don't understand mountain flying, and the people that do don't make comments like so what!!! Things to consider like sheer, crosswind component, altitude density etc, etc. Keep em comin!
looks like a fun place to land

It's must be a bitch to come in so close to trees like that. Good skills :D

what a clear shot!! Great landing

Good approach. Some people come in too high and too fast.
DougDaCosta 1 year ago
why not come in a little higher, lessen the risk of hitting trees on the way in, and give yourself a steeper approach.
it looks like you had enough room for a pretty long round out.
then again, i've never flown in the bush so im just speculating
Iris421989 1 year ago
@Iris421989 that was my exact thought. seemed too close to the trees.
skysnet 1 year ago
@Iris421989 you got to try it ,land at any short grass runway and experience for your self
