Nice work, I'm working on an acoustic version myself right now. Boo! to all the folks who think your faking, I use a combination of pick and fingers and exactly what you describe above which Neil Young calls picky-strummy (see Needle and the Damage Done among other examples of his use of the technique.) It's astounding how full it can sound; almost like two guitars at times. Keep up the good work :)

I like the picky-strummy technique because you keep the percussive attack of the pick and you can readily throw in dramatic full strums to accentuate moments and build drama in your performance.

@CopaceticLifeIndeed You're actually the second person to accuse me of that, and you're the second person to be wrong. For this song I use a hybrid between strumming and picking. My hand appears to be strumming when all you see is my thumb coming in and out of the frame, but my index finger and thumb (holding the pick) are actually moving quite a lot to catch the necessary strings on the way up and down. I catch the B and E strings on the upstroke.

@gostodeloira That is a Capo. It is used to change the key of the instrument without re-tuning. Each fret is 1/2 step.

Yes it does, each up stroke plays the E and B strings, causing his hands to go up, rather than down.
