  • this video helped me much to understand how to start, some time ago.

  • wowowo in espanish plis you on pitinglish

  • nuub -.-

  • @TenrouFang I know right... I researched this and they die cuz they need to spread there roots.?:/

  • Soooooo.....your not supposed to keep the little pot things it comes in?

Is that why mine keep dying..? But they keep them on in the shops and theres aren't dead. wtf.

  • @TenrouFang

Take in mind that in the stores, the plants aren't there for long, and some plants do not make it. (They wont keep dead plants on display.)

It is just like house plants. You can keep them in their original pot, but eventually they will need to be in a new pot as they grow.

  • i hide mary jane in my tank

  • its really nice and shown perfect way to how to planting and enhancing your fish tank ,

i think due to this our fishes will b happy and will leave happy

: one of the most good video for planting

  • Cool! Thank you!

  • does anyone know what substrate that is is it sand

  • @AwesomeAssassin1000 fine quartz gravel.

  • Ever so good vid but hard 2 read but still good vid better then most

  • Echt super !!!

  • Seriously, best plant video ever. I had no idea how to plant dwarf baby tears before this. ;___;

  • What kind of substrate would work out best for a starter. Also how much light do you need too. Thanks!

  • @skyh2k Well it depends on what size tank u have and also for a bigginer i recormed a dirt substrate if u dont know what im talking about watch some vids on it

  • SOME SOUND WOULD BE NICE

  • You guys are the best! I wish I saw this video before I planted my baby dwarf tears :'(

  • what kind of eock are thoses where can i get some

  • I found the writing to be difficult to see easily. Well worth squinting...

That was the most thorough info video one could hope for!

    Do well xoxo

  • Parabens!!!

  • thank you very much

  • @tratropica this is a very good tutorial. well frankly, even i try the same method for planting but the problem with Cabomba caroliana is that when i plant it in the sand substrate, after a few days, the upper part tends to break off from the part that is under the substrate. i keep planting it back and it keeps breaking off until there is no more stem left :( and even the leaves break off and float in the water. any way to tackle this problem?

  • no sound :(

  • Whear can I get a pair of the tongs you use for planting everything in the substrate?

  • Your video is very helpful; It'd be nice to list what groups each species of plants belongs to. An extension to this video should be transplanting established plants.

  • Amazing video! There is no other video like this out there

  • Hemianthus callitrichoides 06:47

  • anyone else noticed that eleocharis stinks ??

i bought a bunch of them (from tropica of course) and they stinked like some rotten fish,thing......

  • wie heißen die schwarzen steine

  • great video!

  • how long would you late your co2 on per day?

  • is it going to matter if this aquarium is for warm or cold water fish? because mine is going to have goldfish, guppies, you know that sort of thing, nothing real exotic or anything like that, so it won't be heated. will this shit still grow? because it doesn't tell you that and i'm so confused!

  • I was wondering what type of substrate/sand your using on the bottom of the tank?

    Thanks

  • Very good video, but what is going to happen when you top it with water? Won't this plants start to float?

  • This is such a cool video, thank you so much for making it. I'm new to aquascaping and just had a quick question for you. What is better to use? Gravel or sand? If I used gravel would the plants still survive? Also what kind of lighting is needed?

  • would be much nicer if you would talk and I wouldn't have to miss half the video reading....

  • this is a great video.there are so many opinions and different ways people handle plants, but if you fallow this you are safe.

tropica is a great company, you just understand that they 100 % know what they are talking about and have the best caretips for aquatic plants.Love it......

  • that guy sounded like an idiot.....

  • Nice video, so basicly each type of plant resembling a type shown in the video can be handled in the same way?

  • ahh i love my hobby on carpet planting and moss planting ... the outcome just satisfy my love everyday watching my moss grow every morning =D

  • Question: Many of these plants often have pond snails, which just EXPLODE in population. How do I get rid of them without harming the plants and the fish themselves (and I also have apple snails)? I quarantine plants for three days before I add them to the established tank, used snail remover (or blue ick remover works, too) or a concentrated dose of sea salt, depending on the plant. Majority of them DIE before I can even get them into the established tank. Any recommendations?

  • @escottish140 You could see if you could loan a snail eater from someone, but chances of that aren't very high. I was never really bothered by the snails

  • Very helpful! Now I can finally get serious with planting plants after all those years.

  • @Countguy same goes to me pal =D

  • why does he always cut the roots?

  • @xHizukax It brings on new growth. Kinda like pruning flowers and bushes in your yard.

  • Comment removed

  • exelent

  • using a hair net?! wow!

  • why does that pincet planting work for evryone except for me >.>

  • i love my plants!

  • after all the plants are anchored how do you siphon the gravel and do water changes?

  • @anonymischief

What I do is lightly mix open parts of gravel so that the particles float in the water. Then I hover the gravel vac close to the gravel so I can get all the bits. You can also use those "liquid" gravel cleaners that biologically break down the waste in the substrate. Other than that, there's not much you can do other than taking the whole tank apart

  • That has been an immensely valuable lesson, especially with the plant names, Thank you so much, now I don't feel so 'in the dark'. Jen

  • This is such a great video I'm not sure why would anyone rate it down? Anyway, can someone pls take a look at my plants and tell me how to get rid of that algae? I would really appreciate it.. I'be tried oto's but they are not doing the job, and a BN Pleco broke up some of my plants so I removed him. Thank You,

  • Who is the 8 retards that voted down on this video this guy took his own time to show you how to plant these plants for YOU!

  • What kind of lighting do you use? A friend and I both have thriving plants in our 10 gallon tanks, but they don't do well in our tanks lit with flourescents. I supplement by shining a floor lamp on them sometimes, but even with that one little patch of grass always was brownish on top but immediately turned green when I transferred it to my tank with incandescent lighting (I have Ecocomplete and Flourish Excel in the big tank - the problem is definitely floursecent lighting).

  • Maaaaaassa Parabens!!!!!!!!!!

  • Big thanks for uploading!

  • what substrate are you using? is that sand?

  • @JosherBoy24 I guess they are not giving you an answer. You waited a year. That is rude.

I think this video is SPAM for Tropica Aquarium Plants. I won't buy from them now.

  • @JosherBoy24

look like normal sand i plant in sand as well, i just anchor with a few pebbles if it's got runners

  • THANK YOU!

  • Where can I find a pair of the "long tweezers" featured in the video?

  • @ibcurran they sell them in pet stores as things you can pick up crickets, worms, etc. to feed lizards and for other pets

  • hoe richt je zo slecht mogelijk een aquarium in?

Nou zoals op dit filmpie staat bescreefen!

  • how do you keep plants form dying

  • excellent video, thank you!

Quick question if you wouldn't mind: what's the best way to pour water into tanks with this kind of fine sand (as opposed to tanks with small rocks and pebbles)??

  • @edmcadam It's usually to pour the water into a plate or you can pour onto a root/stone if it's having a decent shape.

  • Hi do U use greg watsons ferts & book? Kits dry ferts principle

  • i wish i saw this video earlier. I planted the grass altogether, not spread out. Will it still spread across the gravel or stay in that one spot?

  • how much liquid carbon should i put in a 10 gallon aquarium?

  • one capful daily

  • Read the label, for a 10 gallon, I would use half a cap of Seachem Floursih Excel, but it depends on the brand....

  • DID THEY THROW THE PLANTS AWAY?

    D=

  • Nice. Where can I buy these from? i went to your website and thought you could order. maybe i'm on the wrong page? can someone give me some awesome websites and plants that are low light and can be kept with high lighting too? oh andddd Co2, is that a problem if I want a planted tank and don't have that?

  • best plant video ever

  • uh oh, when i put my plant in, i didnt know you had to remove it from the pot, should i do that right now or would it be find

  • Pots is used to control the growth of the root so that it doesnt grows too long.

Its ok not to remove the pot, but seperating them into parts make them grow faster.

  • reading the "uh oh" part i'm guessing he was sarcastic here :)

  • actually is ur choice... if u wan to control their root from growing too long then put in pots, but they will grow slower because there are competition between the plants for nutrien in the pots

  • The pot is there to control the rootball.Removing it will let the plant grow faster.

  • I was wondering about the "substrate"; do they mean some specific type of soil or is normal sand (from an aquarium shop ofc) ok if you want make a more verdant and lush aquarium?

  • Its a mix of nutriants and sand, best to use it if you want lots of plants, you will still have to add liquid nutraints after a few months tho.

  • ok cool, thx for the info :)

  • first of all you will definitely need a layer of substrate, to feed your plants, the sand or gravel goes on top of that.

you can buy proper aquarium substrate at your local pet shop (normally).

  • i did a 50% water change and its my secend day cycling i did it cause my water was STILL foggy so someone told me to do it and i did. it helped but there is kinds a bit left. so i went to get that bulb philip 89 and couldnt find it at 2 stores and so i went to petsmart and got a 20 watt flo bulb. it looked warm. wich i didnt like but kinda do now. anyway i got the master test kit and decided i would learn how to do it. i got an ammonia of 0! and ph is 7.6 my question is why r the tests perfect?

  • Get some decent biological and cut your cycling in half. Use Carbon for the first 2-3 days then chuck it IMO and switch to just a quality fiber, peatmoss/ammonia carbs mix. 80/20. Use root tabs and buy Yamato Green plant fertilizer. Trust me.

  • i assume they're aponogeton bulbs. i bought some from walmart with a really small tank and they barely grew. i replanted them when i got my mom's 15 gallon and gave them about 2 wpg (2 15 watt bulbs for a 15 gallon tank) and they just started growing.

however, only 3/5 bulbs grew, so you may have dead ones in there. you NEED to give them a decent amount of light otherwise they will grow very very slowly.

i also have them planted in caribsea ecocomplete substrate so that helps.

  • this is the best of the best planting vid ever. it helps out alot for whoever loves planted aquarium.

  • yuo should put up another vid about how to cut them when they grow too big, great video btw :D

  • i cant read those letters

  • Could you be kind enough to tell me if those rocks are volcanic rocks?

  • amazing tutorial sir.. thank you very much...

  • thank god i found this! my plants keep dying except for my brazilian plant it's the only one that alive for more than 3 months my other plants die alon in 2 weeks or so

  • thank you so much for such good info!

  • thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you!!!!

  • this is the best vid ive seen yet thanks alot

  • Oh man das is ja einiges total fake aber egal

  • Comment removed

  • Hey congratulations, good info. One question, is it mandatory to take out the pot? Or could we keep them in the pot inside the aquarium. I'm not sure to have the best substrate, so I', thinking on keeping them in a pot with particular substrate and fertilizing for each pot

  • Excellent guide, just what I have been after. Top marks :-D

  • is it mandatory to remove the stone wool? Because it doesn't stay in the gravel i use. Thanks

  • Subtitulos en español!!!!

  • Hi there your videos are amazing and helpful, Should i trim all my plant roots when i get them and take dead leaves off. i cant seem to get mine to grow very fast I have good lighting n all, and should i trim my plants every time i see roots forming from the stems and replant, thanks allot!

  • Sound please!!!!!!!!!

  • fucking nice

  • No, I am sorry. Those are all 'silent movies'. There is no bonus as such apart from the fact that all VDOs are found one place and in high quality :o)

  • Are these files the same as the content of DVD or does DVD have more information?

  • Yes - the VDOs are the same! The DVD holds all 4 VDOs with English, German, French and Danish subtitles.

  • thank you!!!

are only subtitles there or sound (voice)as well? does it have some extra bonus?

  • Gracias Tropica y Oliver Knott.
