thats a good idea for exposure practice.... another way to overcome the fear of embarrasment, is to walk around with a shirt inside out, or purposely drop something in public, or knock something over (toilet paper) draw attention to yourself.. keep exposing yourself, and your fear will eventually decrease.
you seem normal as f uck to me and i could care less if i saw you running around id just be like yea im kool cuz im not THAT guy. And if you looked at me you would think the same. What abuncha perceptual bullshit this all is
But see the thing about social anxiety... you told that woman and this was her response in her mind:
*The fuck?!*
intercom:"CLEANUP ON AISLE TEN"...
Then she forgets all out it as soon as soon as your gone for 30 seconds. I mean people don't care how you act, or what your going though, or feelings. Sad, but also uplifting if you can just apply it positively.
Look at people like Lady Gaga, she could walk in there without any clothes on and be fine. Does she feel reverse social anxiety?
also I want to make another video but I'm not sure what I'm supposed to do . I'd like to ask some random girl out or atleast make conversation. but that's probably gonna take a while since my computer has lost its wifi and my phone isn't doing any better but I'm gonna try to do something stupid. hopefully tommorow. ill post it up as soon as I can
Excellent work! I liked the video! Few people with SA could ever pull that off. Plus, you get bonus points in my book for saying Hello to the employee and telling the manager that you were filming about Social Anxiety.
yea I hated school all my life I dont know why they keep us there its no good when you have sad its absoulutly fucked so good luck and be strong or ditch school like I did
it's very fucked up. in America were there is cafeterias and stuff must be hard. i live in ireland so school isn't that bad because no cafeterias or anything. i can't leave school though :(.
Leaving school may be the biggest mistake you make. I had bad form of SAD two years a go, everyday was a stuggle for me at school, but i pushed myself into facing my fears, and now i can almost normally function in everyday life situations.
so don't think of it as struggling through school, think of it as a challenge and achievement. People with SAD face their fears everyday, how much braver can you really get ? :)
yeah , the Albertsons supermarket in my town does not allow photographic or video/audio recording equipment on the premises. I can only guess they are worried about some scandelous expose about them showing up on tv.
That was absolutely awesome. "How are you sir" while running with a camera...takes guts. Could not have done that myself. Great video for all of us to see. Thanks
Great job at doing this. I'm on a mission to overcome Social Anxiety Disorder myself (or at least as much as one can). I know that's definitely not something I could do at this point though, so congratulations!
That was hilarious! When you said a "run to Fred Meyer" I'm thinking a "run to go pick up some sugar" (or something). You really meant "run"! LOL That took guts. And when that lady stopped you it was even funnier, and took even more guts. I would have curled up, apologized profusely and left dejected.
well congrats for that walk, when the lady asked you if you were filming you were able to tell her the truth, I would have panicked and not know what to say he. see you
Hey a civic si, i used to own one and it too have social anxiety/avoid ant personality disorder.
