Roger that... I always thought it was stupid when people get all pissed off about me not safety checking the guns, but then I still do it nonetheless... not always though, sometimes I don't and just tell the safety sallies to suck it, lol.
Great vid. I went Glock, and have more or less decided to stick with one make in order to be kind to my muscle memory. BUT I just cannot stop watching SIG porn. They just make unbelievably great firearms. Eventually I may just have to scratch that itch and buy a P226... and a P220 Carry...
That's a very smart choice on your part... muscle memory is very crucial when your motor skills go to shit in a high stress situation... knowing what to do every time without a second though may very well save your life. For that reason you will see a Glock 22 on me at all times... I'm the best with that one so that's what I stick with mostly. That and my 1911's of course... but mostly Glock for me.
That my friend is a sweet pistol. I was looking at the P220 Elite. There's another nice Sig. That'll be my next purchase. I am looking for another carry option in a 45. This might fit the bill. Thoughts... comments??
I think you would be hard pressed to find much better for a carry .45... I mean sure there are a few more compact options perhaps, but nothing better than this in my opinion. I do love 1911's as well, have several.
For a nice compact .45 the P220 Carry is very accurate, comfortable, and reliable. That's my thoughts on it! =)
@X4CTO@X4CTO I'll have to pay off my P239 first, then I'm gonna go for the Elite. I think I like it in stainless. I'll wear that for CCW in the winter months, so that I can hide it under my coatd or hoodie. I can go between that and my G36. That should be a good combo!!
Well, im going to way in here in a most harsh manne. If you buy ( or own ) this gun and you dont PRACTICE with it, use it, train yourself to engage a threat with it, then yes, the DA/SA trigger system will not work for you, nor will any other gun !
The key is to TRAIN to use it. " train the way you fight ".
I have a P226 with a DA/SA trigger and im ugly good with it, as i am with my 1911, and my XD. BUT, i shoot IDPA on a regular basis, and i PRACTICE IDPA regularly and i use ALL of them
Exactly what I always say in my videos whether talking about shooting, knives, or self defense in any manner... practice until it's second nature... muscle memory... because motor skills go to shit under stress.
I like the Kimber 1911 CDP compact 11 except for it's aluminum frame. I am leaning twards the Sig P220 carry for it's durability the only problem is it's double action trigger pull I'd hate to have to defend myself with a long trigger pull. Comments please let me know what you think
The P220 Carry is a great gun in my opinion, all around!
I don't think the double action pull of the trigger is too bad at all, it's very smooth actually. I do prefer to carry cocked and locked (1911 style) a little more personally, but that's not to say the P220 has a bad system at all. The single action pull on the P220 is very good too, better than many others I've felt actually. The DA trigger pull is about 10 lbs. and the SA pull is about 4 lbs. Very smooth on both though.
All in all I think you can still be very effective at placing the first (double action) shot, then transitioning over to the much lighter 4 lbs. single action after that. The gun feels great in my hand personally and control is excellent, so it's really all a matter of training not to throw that first shot off target until you do it smoothly. A lot of practice dry firing is a good thing here, haha. I think the P220 Carry is a very portable, very accurate gun... but I still carry my 1911 more.
@philly4458 Personally I think that DA/SA is a better system for self defense as you only have to pull the trigger; you dont have to switch off a safety. There have been instances where people have forgotten to switch it off and been shot because of it.
I would say no, none that you would notice. I think the P220 Carry will be more accurate than most shooters can get out of it honestly. The 1/2 inch or so extra on the full size P220 really won't make much real world difference, I mean if you put them both in a vice and test them without human error playing a part, then you MIGHT be able to squeeze out a tiny bit more accuracy from the full size... but I don't think you'll see a difference in hand. The P220 Carry is very accurate.
I'm a real newbee. I'll be using it for the home as well as occasional range practice. Knowing myself, this will probably turn into an expensive addiction. I'm already planning, in my head, the purchase of a Ruger 22/45, Glock 21/30, P220 or P226 9mm, Browning Hi Power, Beretta 92FS and Colt Series 70. Please help, I have a sickness ;) My question to you probably should have been...after I purchase the Ruger 22/45 to practice with, what should be the first gun I purchase from the above?
Yeah that's some list you have there... all very nice guns! I can't help you with the sickness, haha, I have that too bro. For home defense, I think they all would do well from 9mm up to .45... just get some good ammo. For range practice... I've not shot too many guns more balanced than a Hi Power and 92FS... and of course the 1911's are excellent range guns in my opinion. I think the Sigs and Glocks are more combat oriented, but that's not to say they aren't great at the range too.
9mm is much more economical to shoot at the range if you plan on shooting a lot... unless of course you don't mind the extra cost of .45... in that case I think .45 is the more fun of the two rounds to shoot! =)
You have a great list full of proven firearms there, they're all good. Personally I am a Glock and 1911 man, those are two of my favorites overall... but they're very different. I would probably go with the Glock 21 or Colt 1911 first, but that's just me.
That's a hard question... it really all depends on several things. Like do you plan to carry it a lot, or is it mainly to keep at home? Is it just a recreational gun for you? What's your shooting skill level... things like that.
The P220 and Glocks in .45 are both very good choices. I slightly prefer the Glock 21 to all of them, I love how it shoots and feels. The P220 and Glock 30 might be a little better for carry though. I honestly don't think you can go wrong with any of these though.
Shut up you fucking faggot cpdusmcdst9. You are neither a "detective," a recon marine, or anything of the like. You are probably a 13 year old boy trying to find his cock. Nice vid X4CTO. Just block this faggot from posting on your vids.

Oh actually, I will be blocking you in a minute so I guess you will no longer be able to comment unless you would like to make a new channel so I can just block you again, LMAO! Kind of fun actually!
You can say what you want about me, I don't care much... but if you were to talk about my family and you were standing in my face while doing so, I would happily slap the cum-filled spit from your large, unintelligent mouth... and I am confident I could do so quite easily. =)
Matter of fact I'd like to see a video featuring that imaginary 1911 you feel comfortable carrying but do not own go to a tea party rally where you belong your sister probably has a gun so you don't try to fuck her you stupid redneck
Hmm comparing a glock and a sig and you continue to show me your I can't make up my mind mentality by saying you carry a 1911 too poor motherfucker make a video when you solve your identity crisis
It's actually my sister's gun... but they are pretty good for carry, this model is not too heavy and pretty compact in all the important areas. I've carried around the house for awhile to see what I thought about it and I like it... I still like something like a Glock 19 or Ruger SR9c for carry a little better though. I would say if you don't mind carrying a Glock 19, you won't mind this one too much... but remember this is coming from a guy that feels fine carrying a full size 1911.
Yeah you have plenty of time to do some research and maybe try a few of them out too.
I am a big fan of the P229 (my favorite Sig right now)... the P239 is a good one too. The P220 feels great in my hand, only downside is lower mag capacity... however it is a .45 so you have to balance between more ammo or larger caliber... which brings up a whole other debate. If I were going with a 229 or 239 I would choose it .40 for sure... .40 is not too expensive to shoot.
Having trouble deciding between P229 and P220. They're pretty much the same with exception of Cal. The 229 is 9,40,357. While the 40 and 357 are good in my mind the price isn't (357) but I'll have to hold them. I'm 3 years away from CCW so I have plenty of time to decide
Yea but when you have it in the holster you could have it cocked back if you kno what your doing but i see where ur coming from I guess I should practice double action more but then again only the first shot is double action
That's true... a good holster would allow for cocked carry I think.
I always just practice both in case I ever need it... I would definitely practice with double action and then try to perfect your single action shots on top of that. That's why I love the Sigs though, such a versatile platform. Can be as easy enough for someone just learning and also as precise as an experienced shooter would need.
You could shoot single action every shot just cock back hammer then the double action won't be a problem an the original triggers are a lil better but that's still pretty
Yeah I love the single action on this gun... really good trigger pull. I do advocate training with double action as well though... simply because you might not exactly have the time to cock the hammer before you have to fire in a self defense situation... so it's good to know how to consistently place shots while using the longer and harder double action trigger.
At the range it's fine to just cock it back and get going though.
Good luck, maybe you'll come across a great deal that you just can't live without.
I was eyeballing a Sig P229 Equinox really hard at the gun store today... they wanted $900 for it. I also held a Beretta PX4 and damn those things feel good in the hand... light weight too.
@X4CTO i used to own a px4 storm full size in 40 caliber and it felt great but at the time there were so many other guns i wanted i ended up trading it for something else. I then saw the compact one and it also looks pretty cool
I hear you man... there's just so much available these days. Have you looked at the FNP series... or the FNX-9 or FNX-40? How about the CZ-75? I used to have a CZ-75 and loved it to death.
Love the Sigs, they're sexy guns. I'd like to own one someday but I can't get over the aluminum frame thing (polymer or steel for me). Someday I hope to get a Stainless Elite and have it melonited.
I wouldn't worry about Sig's aluminum frames, they will take a hell of a beating... but if you still can't bring yourself to get one... there are some models available with steel frames... then of course there's the SP2022 with the polymer frame (which I personally think is a badass pistol).
I'm with you though for the most part... if I'm getting an aluminum frame to save weight then I'd rather go to polymer... I like polymer framed handguns.
@X4CTO Dunno, it's sort of a "warm and fuzzy" thing for me. I've heard of Sig frames lasting into the hundreds of thousands of rounds, but also of frame rails cracking around 15,000 and less (admittedly these cases are rare).
Yeah, I'm a fan of polymer handguns too. The FNP series from FN are sort of Sig-ish. And the new FNX's look even better. I've always wanted to check out a CZ as well.
Yeah I've heard of the rails cracking too. I understand the "warm and fuzzy" thing too... if you're going to spend money on something you just want to have a peace of mind that it will last and be reliable undoubtedly for you. That's why you see so many Spyderco Enduras in my knife collection... because I've NEVER had one fail me when I needed it... they give me that same "warm and fuzzy" feeling.
I love the FNP's... solid guns in my opinion. The FNX's do look nice, I need to see one in person.

Any give and take on p220 carry vs p220 fullsize as far as accuracy and velocity you think they shoot the same or fullsize is more accurate ?
ikonik69 11 months ago
I would say no, none that you would notice. I think the P220 Carry will be more accurate than most shooters can get out of it honestly. The 1/2 inch or so extra on the full size P220 really won't make much real world difference, I mean if you put them both in a vice and test them without human error playing a part, then you MIGHT be able to squeeze out a tiny bit more accuracy from the full size... but I don't think you'll see a difference in hand. The P220 Carry is very accurate.

Thank you... can't go wrong with a Sig if you ask me.

Can't go wrong with a Sig Sauer =)
Good luck, maybe you'll come across a great deal that you just can't live without.
I was eyeballing a Sig P229 Equinox really hard at the gun store today... they wanted $900 for it. I also held a Beretta PX4 and damn those things feel good in the hand... light weight too.
Thank you.

Otacon237 1 year ago
Absolutely!

Damn, I wish I had more money...
Otacon237 1 year ago
Yeah I've heard of the rails cracking too. I understand the "warm and fuzzy" thing too... if you're going to spend money on something you just want to have a peace of mind that it will last and be reliable undoubtedly for you. That's why you see so many Spyderco Enduras in my knife collection... because I've NEVER had one fail me when I needed it... they give me that same "warm and fuzzy" feeling.
I love the FNP's... solid guns in my opinion. The FNX's do look nice, I need to see one in person.

ive got a sig p229 its kinda heavy chunky and doesnt have the highest mag capacity as some other brands. but other than that the gun functions great
berryjs140 1 year ago
Yeah it's a heavier gun, but I love how it feels and functions... and I'm a big fan of the 229 in .40 S&W.
